I got the sliced beef and pickled veggies rice noodles, clay pot rice with chicken and pork ribs (+ Chinese sausage), and pure grape drink. Everything was solid. The price point is a little pricey at $17 per dish for the quality but it's still pretty good. The clay pot rice was lacking the crispy rice exterior. But considering the service was fast and you get different variety in one place, it's a good spot for people to try different things in one place. read more

Oh, don't forget to order your rice dish with the soup or (Tah-ng). Once your done eating the rice pot rice, there's usually a scorched bottom. Use the soup to mix 8n with the scorched rice and it just makes it into this amazing aromatic slurry if soup. Textures, and flavours! There are also long table where people can share tables if they don't have big group. You order using a barcode or they will give you tablet to order. Pretty straightforward and easy to operate. Food comes in a little late but not too long. Servers are all nice and kind. Food is great! However, I found the food to be subpar (see below) despite the seemingly interesting menu options and certainly overpriced for the basically non-existent service as it was almost entirely self-serve. The area itself was decorated nicely and comforting, but it's not like you go to a restaurant to eat the decorations... (Beef Tendon Soup: F) - This was a disaster-filled bowl. First, the tendon was ironically not tender because it was not braised long enough. Second, the broccoli was straight up raw it felt like it was just picked from the forest. Biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy and savory with plenty of tender beef and crunchy vegetables, and the boba is always delicious! I especially love the mochi and black sesame boba, so fluffy and decadent with a perfectly nutty and slightly savory taste from the black sesame. Or just three restaurants housed in one location?), it is a sit-down establishment and you can order from the same online place. I ordered a rice clay pot, husband ordered noodles, and we both got drinks. He got a mango latte and I got a plain boba milk tea. The waiter also mentioned that we shouldn't pay via the app, and instead, wait until the end where we would have to ask him for the check. I have my suspicions as to why this is (paying online vs sit down service with a check.... You can figure it out). I unfortunately wasn't impressed with my rice dish. The rice was particularly dry, even though I recognize that clay pot dishes usually are on the drier side. Even though that's the case, it just didn't hit the spot like I thought it would. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by this Mexican woman. She was very nice and took us to the table. Then she handed us the iPad to place our orders. It was kind of complicated from that iPad and we were struggling with it then we asked for help from the waitress. It took her awhile to figure it out. A group of seven of us decided to go here for a friends birthday dinner. The concept of this place is nifty and honestly a very smart utilization of space. There's a noodle place, rice, and milk tea. Maybe there were four but I can't remember the last one. I ordered the beef stew and while the soup was flavored well and the noodles were nice, the temperature of the dish was lukewarm at best. Pretty sure it's common for folks to order soup and expect it to come out hot! The meat was a bit tough but they added a very decent amount. I really enjoyed the thick cut of the noodle and recommend it. Cucumber was good but missing spice. It's very close to the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station (a 3-minute walk) and also has a pretty big parking lot. There's a screen near the entrance for people that are just ordering boba to-go. If you're there for dine-in, they'll lead you to some seats and you can order from all three places at the same time. Lots of seats for dine-in and there's even a foosball table. Our table had a QR code for you to see the menu and order but they brought a tablet over for us to order. Not sure why but I have no issues with that. We ordered Beef Stew & Tendon (公公半筋半腩) and Pickled & Sliced Beef (知府酸湯肥牛). Took a little while for the orders to arrive (almost thought that they were preparing everything from scratch and cutting a whole cow open on the spot), and there were kids running around in the place so it was pretty loud. I'm also guessing they ran out of bokchoy cause we were given broccoli (which we didn't mind cause we love broccoli). The cumin lamb biangbiang noodle were also very flavorful, definitely had heavy cumin flavoring. The popcorn chicken wasn't bad but it also wasn't the best. The pieces were definitely smaller but I don't think it's as bad as others make it out to be. For the drinks, I wasn't a big fan of the grapeholic drink but enjoyed the strawberry & lemon. I adjusted for less sugar and less ice but the drink was still pretty sweet so would probably opt for zero sugar next time. A "food court" but it's three stores in one, they aren't separated but rather you can order from all three with one order on their tablet (to-go) or online (dine-in). There's Rice Monster, Noodleosophy, and Grapeholic, all three names are pretty self explanatory. Rice bowls, noodles, and grape drinks (with boba offerings). Location is extremely convenient, right off of the Millbrae station. There's a 15% service charge for dining in but they do have a disclaimer to not tip as a result (though it's not very obvious). They do have a tip jar though so tipping is still welcome. Takeout portion is embarrassing though. Sat down for like 25 minutes waiting for our drinks on another visit because I recommended the spot to my brother and saw the bowls which looked great and smelled authentic. They really include the default dine in service fee as part of the bowl price so takeout eaters get jipped. I got Beef Stew noodles from Noodleosophy and the Pure Grape drink from Grapeholic on my first visit. Have returned multiple times for Grapeholic alone to try other drinks. Dry Beef Stew with Biang Biang Noodles - for starters, the beef is delicious. Tender and flavorful. Noodles were excellent as well, but in my situation my order was probably ready for a while so the noodles got clumped together at the bottom. Would've had a better experience if they were separated, either dine in or more fresh. Soup might've helped too so would have to try that over the dry. If you want dry noodles, I recommend dining in or eating ASAP. Biggest complain is that the portion is fairly small for the price. Pure Grape - Boba is a denser chewy with almost a hint of sweetness but somewhat on the tasteless side. i wouldn't order the boba again but had to try it. Crystal boba is standard and good. They also put peeled grapes! I was so confused by the texture but wow I really enjoyed the grapes, sweet too. Must've been marinated in sugar after peeling. Their crema is delicious - thick and salty sweet. one of my favorite cremas I've had but maybe the grape drink helped because it became a refreshing flavorful contrast. The drink itself was rich by itself without toppings. It's a grape slush but better because it's not excessive on the ice, there's more liquid to actually drink. [Review of location and Grapeholic drink only...for now!] A cool addition to Millbrae if you are in the mood for Asian food/boba but no-one in your friend group can decide on what they want. They have 3 casual restaurants in one place--Noodleosophy, Grapeholic (boba), Rice Monster (clay pot rice). Specifically, I came for Grapeholic because they had some intriguing drinks (e.g. Toffee-infused Tea, Milk Tea with Mochi & Boba, Mango Pomelo Sago, a large assortment of grape and fruit teas) Location: Next to the large Chase bank off El Camino Real in Millbrae. They have their own parking lot you can enter from the back closer to the CalTrain tracks. It fits a decent amount of cars, but you may have to circle around for someone to leave on a peak hour (e.g. weekend lunch). When you walk in, someone will help seat you. Order via QR code and someone brings you your food. But if you are there only to try the Grapeholic for boba like me, you can go straight up to the touch screen monitor to order. Then awkwardly wait for your order. I ended up trying the Mochi & Boba Milk tea ($6.25, 50% sugar; drinks on the large side!). Thought that the drink itself wasn't too strong on tea, but you could taste the milk. Boba was on point. Mochi was sweet and creamy--it adds an extra textural component. Word of warning though that the mochi might not be everyone's cup of tea texturally (soft, chewy, slightly chunky but drinkable through the boba straw). Worth a try to find out! Overall enjoyed my drink. One thing they could improve on is having a designated waiting area for people waiting for to-go orders so they don't get confused with waiting to be seated.
