Ok folks, I came here on a Groupon! I was not expecting the exemplary service I received here, especially since it was through a Groupon. I was simply blown away. Michael might be the most upbeat, positive, cheerful doctor I've ever met. He's like the sun and you are just drawn in by his sunny, radiant, personality. He treats you like he's known you for years and goes above and beyond to make sure he diagnoses you correctly. I've never had a doctor where I've felt that I could talk to for hours on end like this. He's very genuine and there's no BS. As other reviewers have stated, you really do feel like you're talking to an old friend. He wanted me to come back, free of charge, just to make sure my prescription had really changed. I've never had an eye doctor suggest that, and this was from a Groupon! I've never been so impressed during an eye appt. He really genuinely cares about you and wants to make sure you have the most accurate assessment. In addition on top of the excellent service they gave me a TON of eye drop samples for my dry eyes. I've never had an eye appointment feel like Xmas! Front desk is hospitable and very sweet but one thing that caught my attention was the doctor was exemplary AMAZING as in Amazing. Ok so let me start off by saying that my father has gone there a few times and he was rather happy, so I'm not sure how they managed to screw up so royally this time around. A few weeks ago my father had an infection in his eye, similar to a stye, he went to her, and since she doesn't t take our insurance he went as a cash patient, paid $300+ for her to poke at it and say " the infection is coming out on its own - so put on a hot compress and it doesn't go away in about two weeks, come back and I'll cut and remove it" to me that was already ridiculous but my father trusted her and waited... about 2/3 weeks later we went back again because as you guessed it didn't come out on its own, again as a cash patient , paid another $400+ and she cut it this time, poked around in it and said that it used to come out and now it's not coming out, sorry I can't take it out, his eye is now bruised and swollen inevitably from the procedure that yielded no results. So basically he paid over $700 for her to do absolutely nothing and send him on his way, just please be careful and don't just pay to have nothing done and possibly be in worse shape than you were when you went originally. read more

Be careful if you come here! Dr. Hamparian spent 2 minutes with me after she had her tech spend less than 10 minutes with me re: the possibility I might have glaucoma based on a quick eye exam by another doctor. The doctor did not take into account that my vision might be affected by previous retinal surgeries and did not do the proper testing to exclude that as a possibility. She just kept pushing the laser surgery without fully explaining what it was or that it would only work for a couple years at best. It's like a surgery mill in there. I've never felt so rushed and panicked at the doctor in my life. I got a horrible vibe from the whole experience and called my original retinal surgeon, the esteemed Dr. Raghu Murthy, who brought me in and did the proper and lengthy tests required which showed I had NO glaucoma at all - only a small amount of existing damage from my previous retinal issues. Dr. Hamparian should have tested me thoroughly for this issue before she pushed me toward an unnecessary procedure and she didn't. I wonder how many other people have been scared into this procedure by this office. read more

I've been wearing glasses for most of my life and wanted to give contacts another try since my teenage years! Found Socal Vision Center on Groupon and made an appointment for my eye exam and contact fitting. Right off the bat the phone call to reception was extremely professional and informative so i already felt really good about this place. Came in on a Saturday and immediately noticed the modern office and atmosphere. I then met my new favorite optician, Michael Lewis!! Really down to earth and realistic about my questions and concerns, made me feel very welcome and comfortable along with helping me make the right choice for my contacts. Few days later, I received a follow up call to for another appointment to fit the contacts. Michael explained everything i needed to know on how to apply and care for my contacts and made sure i didn't feel any discomfort with them. Had a really great experience and will definitely recommend him. I can finally wear my snowboard goggles without my glasses in the way!! Thank you again Mike!! read more

$160 at SoCal Vision vs. $600 at Burbank Optometrist (who shall remain anonymous)... Michael is so helpful, quick, and honest! I went to another optometrist to order my husbands new lenses but they quoted me $600 and when I asked the sales gal for price breakdown her attitude completely turned for the worst and she unpleasantly and confusingly rushes through te breakdown not making any sense. I found Michael on yelp, called up but the receptionist said I would need to go in for a quote. Michael sat down with me right away (no appointment) and went over the other optometrist quote and eye exam with me and showed me the options for lower pricing and told me how to order on my own online for the same lenses for $175!!! Instead of me ordering online I decided to just ask Michael to order for me since he did do all the work without even expecting anything in return! Just got the glasses total came out to under $160 they just need to be slightly adjusted so he told me to bring them back in and he'll take car of it. read more

Worst place. Lol When I came in for my appointment, they gave me a last minute info that my eye vision will be blurry for 3-4 hours after my eye exam, which is unfortunate because I have to drive home and work on my computer. Wish they told me this over the phone. They also gave me a last minute info about how the alternative option is not covered in my insurance even though they specifically told me that I am fully covered over the phone. I have never heard of this before and they told me it was a "new" process they've implemented and yet, they decided to tell me this right after I wasted my time driving there. If you want an optometry to care about your time and eye care, this is not the place. read more

Dr. Hamparian and Michael are truly hidden gems of the optometrist field. I first went to Dr. Hamparian last year for a contact exam, and my appointment went above and beyond my expectations. She was kind, incredibly knowledgable and genuinely just wanted to offer me the best options for my eyes. It is clear that she is the type of doctor who wants to help her patients, rather than pushing her own agenda. I was also helped by Michael when it came to getting new eye glasses. He was incredibly helpful every step of the way. He not only filled my lense prescription at a fraction of the cost of any other place in LA, but he also encouraged me to shop around and make sure I was getting the best bang for my buck. The most unqualified staff with zero ethical manner. When I brought up, how poorly we were treated by her rude staff, Dr. Hamparian simply replied "the girls are new to their job and they need to learn" !!!! I guess we have to pay the price by her new and unqualified and very rude staff. While she was raged with anger, She also mentioned " that's how this office operates" Oh by way !!!! My entire family and I have been with Dr. Hamparian for over 10 years and there is no one else I would trust more. I recently went in for an exam for new glasses and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Hamparian is just the best. She is intelligent and extremely thorough. She makes sure you are comfortable and answers all your questions or concerns. By far the nicest looking office -- brand new and they have the latest equipment. The staff is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to make sure you taken care of and make sure you are seen immediately. The optometrist, Dr. Michael Lews, is amazing. He carries a great selection of the latest styles of frames and for a great price. He is extremely nice and straightforward and makes sure you get lenses that best suit your needs. Great doctor, patient, thorough and meticulous. Dr. Hamparian detected an early onset of an eye disease (rare for my age) and immediately got it under control. I have been seeing the doctor for nearly 8 years and could not be happier. Today, my husband also visited for the first time and was equally pleased. Office was clean. They saw me at my appointment time and didn't have me wait very much. The eye check up was specific and I felt taken care of. I got an eye exam, ordered contacts plus got a new pair of glasses. They open specific Saturdays, not all, so that's always nice and accommodating so you don't have to leave work early on week days. The only thing I didn't like was the pricing. My contact lenses were $180 for only half a year. My new eye care doctor got the same lenses for $160 for a whole year plus $100 rebate back. The glasses selection was also a bit expensive. The first few pairs they showed me were all $400+. read more

My waiting time and appointment took about 3.5 hours but did not solve anything. Dr. Hamparian could not explain anything and could not make a decision about how to fix a very common problem. She wanted me to come back in one month. When I asked her what would change in a month she could not come up with an answer. When I received a high billing amount, it was clear why she wanted to see me again, and again :). I went to another doctor who was the opposite of Dr. Hamparian: she clearly explained what needed to be done and performed a 5-minute laser procedure with much success. I came to see Dr. Mireille Hamparian for a scratched cornea and found the experience very pleasant. The office was clean and neat, the staff was friendly and courteous. The visit was efficient, I was roomed in a timely manner. The doctor was friendly and exuded confidence. I felt that she asked the right questions. She was gentle and explained everything clearly. My parents and I travel 90 miles to see Dr Hamparian and her staff. I feel she provides the best vision care.
