is an excellent , caring, oftalmologyst and the people that work for him are always very helpful , specially Cindy .

Dr Beeve was nice, but his front desk staff was unfortunately not caring about my health. I missed an appointment due to health reasons by an hour and instead of helping me reschedule, they charged me a no show fee. The crazy thing is I have waited in the waiting area for almost 40 minutes both times I went. Disappointed in the lack of care as a cancer survivor. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with the staff. The way they spoke to patients over the phone came across as unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. Communication in a healthcare setting should be respectful, patient, and compassionate, especially when people may already be stressed or seeking help. Unfortunately, the staff seemed dismissive and lacked basic courtesy during the conversation. I hope management addresses this issue and provides additional customer service training so future patients are treated with more professionalism and respect. read more

Very bad experience with this doctor. Seemed like he didn't care and was trying to rush me out to see the next patient. Very weird vibe at this doctor's office and they didn't solve the issues I was having with my eye. Not recommended. read more

Stellar experience every time I come for my exam! I've been a patient for over a year now, and had two annual exams as well as purchased glasses here, and was treated for a stye. EVERY visit has been terrific. Waiting time is never unreasonable, and the front desk staff is very kind. ALL the staff is terrific ~~Always greeted with a smile. Dr. Beeve is great. He listens and explains things very well. I was referred here by a friend, when I had my stye issue and I am so very happy she referred me here. read more

Just had a two year check up after getting laser surgery and my eyesight is still great! Before correction my prescription was -6.50 and had been for many years, it's amazing how having my vision restored has changed my life for the better, I can't recommend it enough. Dr Beeve and his team answered all my questions and made me feel very taken care of before, during and after the surgery. Everything was explained to me beforehand and the process honestly sounds much more intense than it is, it takes about 5 minutes and then you can see! (There are extra check ups before and after) It's also amazing once you start looking into laser surgery you start to learn how many people you already know that have gotten it! If you're considering it I recommend Dr Beeve. One thing to note- if you wear contacts, there is a period of time leading up to surgery that you need to stop and just wear glso your eyes can return to their natural shape- so just make sure you plan for that! read more

I never leave yelp reviews but this place was NOT good. I am new to the area so I found Beeve Vision Center on yelp and went in to get contact lenses prescription.. Long story short, front desk staff was rude and not helpful whatsoever. I told the lady at the front desk that I needed contact lenses prescription multiple times but I somehow ended up paying for glasses prescription? I mean yes, I was definitely hesitant to pay for anything that I didn't need but if she had told me that I needed to get x check-up and pay $x for contact lenses prescription then I would've paid that. Like she knew exactly what I wanted so I just wish that she explained that better. So anyways, I ended up spending $45 or something like that on glasses prescription which I didn't even need in the first place. Additionally, the actual check-up was also very mid and inaccurate. I've had astigmatism since I was in high school but they told me that I don't have astigmatism anymore which I found odd? Like did it just magically disappear??? Anyways, I left my appointment feeling skeptical and didn't even get what I went in for--CONTACT LENSES prescription! I found another office and a doctor who is so amazing! She rechecked my eyes and turns out I DO still have astigmatism and Dr. Beeve's prescription was off by .5 for my left eye!!! It is so bad I want to give this place a zero but that's not possible so I give them a 1. read more

I received LASIK eye surgery from Dr. Beeve two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the results. I have crystal clear vision with no problems/irritations with my eyes. Dr. Beeve and all his staff were welcoming and helpful throughout the pre-op, op, and post-op days. The operation was quick and painless, besides some discomfort from the initial pressure on the eyes. Dr. Beeve was attentive and gave positive feedback throughout the surgery and his assistants were very kind and comforting as well. I'm happy I chose this place and would recommend others to come here if they are interested in LASIK. read more

Just had my LASIK surgery done yesterday and I'm already on here able to write this review. Dr. Beeve and his team are insanely good at their job. LASIK sounded like a daunting surgery to me a while ago but after doing it with Dr. Beeve I would never hesitate to recommend it to anyone especially with him. This was by far the easiest surgery to get through for me. Dr. Beeve and his team made me so comfortable the whole time and I didn't feel a thing through the whole process. Please be sure you put your drops and follow his directions so you can recover as fast as possible. I drove myself to the check up today because my eyes are already better than my glasses were. Hiiiiighly recommended! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Beeve for over 7 years, and I am very happy with the care I have received. My vision after my multi focus lens cataract surgery is great. I couldn't be happier. My family and I have been going to Dr. Beeve for over 30 years. He and his techs are very helpful and pleasant. Appointments are hard to get, but they do a good job with staying on schedule and taking care of you quickly when you have an appointment. However, we have made the decision to switch to another doctor because of his front desk receptionist. Each person in my family has separately experienced negative interactions with this receptionist. She is extremely rude and condescending with how she speaks to you and answers questions (in person and on the phone). We didn't realize it was a consistent issue until it happened to each of us separately (more than once for some of us). For someone at the front desk, you would expect at least some professionalism and customer service. It is sad that we all want to leave because of this 1 person, but there have been enough unpleasant experiences that we would rather go somewhere else. read more

!7 months ago, Dr. Beeve performed cataract surgery (both eyes) and implanted tri-optics lens. The surgeries (a week apart) were comfortable, painless and done to perfection. My sight was restored completely, and I was able to toss out all my Costco readers immediately. Eyesight improved in the weeks that followed, to the point that I haven't even thought about my eyesight for months! I do everything (crossword puzzles, reading recipes, driving and computer work) with no hesitation, blurriness or squinting. In addition, Dr. Beeve's clinical staff is "first-rate": Knowledgeable, very personable and skilled in all aspects of testing. Long-term employees tells me that his office is loyal, friendly and happy to help with questions and concerns. Front office staff is a blast to work with...funny, efficient and very caring. I recommend Dr. Beeve's office and services without any hesitation. Thank you Dr. Beeve! read more

As a first time patient of Dr. Beeve's, I have to say I am impressed! The entire visit felt very COVID-safe and the staff was very welcoming and helpful! Dr. Beeve was great and I was able to get a prescription for new glasses and contact lenses in the same visit! Their office had a nice selection of frames, and although didn't have the exact frames I was looking for, I found a great alternative. I wish I had gotten the name of the young man who helped me with my frames because he was super helpful! He let me know that I could bring in my own frames in the future if I wanted to. All in all I had a great visit! The only complaint I had was getting too many notifications/texts/emails to confirm my appointment. I had to confirm my appointment at least 4 different times for some reason. But, I won't knock off any points for that. read more

I was blown away by how wonderful Dr. Beeve is. He was recommended to me by my doctor. From the first moment I met Dr. Beeve I felt I was in good hands. My right eye was done two weeks ago. The difference in sight was amazing - through my right eye everything was now clear, I could read road signs, I could see the veins in the leaves, it was surreal how real everything had become - through my left eye everything was muddy and had a brown haze. With both eyes done I realize how limited my sight had become and how much I squinted to see. The entire process was a good experience - from Dr. Beeve, his staff, and the team at the surgery center - I knew I was being taken care of and that my comfort and my eyesight was their primary concern. Thank you! read more

When I received my bill I was charged $50 for a refraction test. My insurance does not cover refraction and I knew that. However, I was never asked if I wanted a refraction test but was charged for it anyway. When I called the billing office they said that I would have to had agreed to it which I never did. So they basically charged me for something and never asked my permission. So if you go to see this doctor be sure you get all the information upfront before you go in for the testing. read more

It has been a year since I got Lasik surgery here and I couldn't be happier. I can't say enough good stuff about this office. Naturally I was nervous to spend so much money to have someone perform surgery on my eyes. But everyone here made me feel so comfortable. They answered every random or ridiculous question I had along the way. And that wasn't just Dr. Beeve, every member of the staff had a thorough knowledge and could answer all of my questions along the way. Now let's get to surgery day. The entire process from check-in to leaving took less than an hour and the actual surgery was about 10 minutes, and weirdly enough the surgery did not hurt at all (that evening kind of sucked but whatever it was 100% worth it). The price wasn't too bad either, i dont know about you but im a 25 year old dude who lives in this expensive city and it didnt hit me too hard. Tax returns + financing and I was good to go. Plus, you shouldn't cheap out when it comes to your eyes. If you're gonna pay someone to shoot lasers into your eyes and change them for the rest of your life you should probably spend the extra cash. I went to consultations at Laser Eye Center and those other cheaper places and I just didn't get the kind of care that I got here. I didn't have confidence that they wouldn't permanently mess up my eyes, which was my biggest concern. But Beeve showed me that he knew what he was doing and he really did. Seriously, look up his credentials, the guys has great experience. If you're on the fence about getting Lasik, dont be, get it, it's life changing. I can see better now than I could when I would wear my glasses. Greens are greener, purples are more vibrant. The first time I looked at a tree and could see all of the individual leaves instead of a green blur it blew my mind. You won't regret it. Here's an awesome part that isn't super crucial. They give you a pair of sunglasses after the surgery. For some reason these were the best sunglasses ive ever owned, they fit perfectly on my face and the view through the lenses was just awesome. I dont know what was so great about them but either way, I loved them. Until I lost them. I called up the office months after getting my surgery to ask what kind they were or if i could just buy some and they gave me a pair free! Great people in this office, just saying. In conclusion, Lasik surgery is 300% worth it, and I feel that I made the best choice possible when it comes to picking a doctor. read more

Reception and the nurse were the only positive highlights of the visit today, as they were able to squeeze me in last minute and provided personalized service throughout the interactions. Cons: - Waited 1.5 hours to see Dr. Beeve - Dr. Beeve cared less about examining me than any other Opthamologist I've ever been to. How? Didn't even check my other eye for symptoms after ascertaining a bacterial infection in the other eye. Thanks for going above and beyond! - I ask about Lasik and the age limitations there may be, and he simply replies with "you just have to be 18." Do doctors these days have to be that greedy to negate simple advice we can find online? Case in point from Lasik.com: "Most providers encourage young adults to wait until their mid-20s because, until this time, a person's prescription may be still changing. Having a stable prescription for at least two years is often required as proof before anyone, young or old, is deemed a good LASIK candidate. From the point of stable prescription on, most adults concurrently grow their savings, begin traveling for work and pleasure, and perhaps develop an irritation or exhaustion with contacts and eye glasses. This creates the popular period during which most people have LASIK. Around the age of 40, a person's eyes start to change again. Soon thereafter, many people start to need reading glasses due to a condition known as presbyopia. LASIK does not correct presbyopia, but some people with the condition decide to have monovision." - After, learning about the eye exam I had earlier that year, he tells me to come in again this year to have another one. Really? Do I need a bi annual checkup now, when my insurance only covers 1 a year. I get he wants some extra money, and I really wanted to come back since this place is close, but he's definitely NOT the type of doctor I trust. read more

I thought Los Angeles air quality had reached an all time bad. Everything seemed yellow and dull. When I complained, my optometrist st COSTCO told me I had cataracts in both eyes. My father had amazing luck with his cataract surgery with Dr. Beeve. So I scheduled an exam with Dr. Beeve. The office is beautiful and very patient friendly. I had my exam and was scheduled for surgery at the surgery center across the hall. Surgery was a breeze. The doctor did one eye at a time with a couple of weeks in between surgeries. I was shocked at how clear my vision was and how bright colors became. This surgery cleared up the dull yellow haze I experienced. Amazing. I was able to see clearly just hours after surgery. And the second eye went well too. It's been over a year and I am so happy. I have friends who have had the cataract surgery with complications, but not from Dr Beeve. Both my father and I enjoy 20/20 clear vision after our surgery with Dr. Beeve. I would recommend him. read more

Friendly and professional doctors and staff- Dr. Beeve was friendly and helpful. Dr. Ella was beyond patient and kind to me.

I had LASIK done by Dr. Beeve (bladeless and wavefront-guided). He took the time to answer my *many* questions. I am corrected to 20/15 with no night-vision issues (i.e., no haloes) or complications (use those antibiotic eyedrops people! although I seriously recommend getting a non-quinolone alternative). During the first year, I did wake with dry eyes maybe 3 times, but the lubricating drops supplied took care of it quickly. Still 20/15 three years later. I'm 41 now too, and still no reading glasses...have heard anecdotal evidence LASIK defers onset of presbyopia. I did some research on prices. For this level of LASIK, Dr. Beeve was actually a little under the average with the VSP discount. And really, do you want your *eyes* operated on by the lowest bidder? Also, important for those looking for LASIK, Dr. Beeve has his own machine: this isn't a time-share with other people banging on it (this is one way "cheap" LASIK is offered). It was actually the second time I tried to have LASIK done by Dr. Beeve. I was all set to go the first time, and came in for my final pre-op appointment...a few days before which I developed some weird issue in an eye. Dr. Beeve diagnosed it as Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR), and referred me to a retina specialist, with whom I was also very pleased. But the point: he told me we couldn't operate with the eye being stressed. He had already done all the *free* pre-operative characterization, examinations, etc., and knowing he would not get paid for any of it because I would not be having the surgery then, he still did what was best for me. You don't have to be impressed by integrity, but the point of this review is that I experienced it. He is also my optometrist. I have no complaints : ) Staff is very friendly and, to my vibe-detector, kind. Finally, if like me you have no real vision issues except your yearly check-up, the piece de resistance: free Keurig coffee in the office. read more

I have been seeing Dr Beeve for around 15 years. Yes, he looks like a youngster but his is extremely professional and talented in caring for eyes. The surgery center is right next to his office and everyone there is professional and fun. His office team is excellent as well. They are very experienced and caring. This review is not so much for the Beeve Vision Care Center, but more about the Optical Center within the office, and a warning to make sure you question everything for which you MAY be charged. I went in to get a copy of my prescription so that I could get a pair of glasses at a store closer to where I live. I spoke to the front desk and was told to make sure the Optical Center included my Pupal Distance (PD) on the prescription. When I went to the Optical Center and asked them about this they took a quick scan and then told me that it would be $25. I had never been told that this would be something they charged me for, especially since I have ordered glasses from them in the past. When I told them this they told me that they would give me a discount so it would ONLY be $22.50. I pushed back a bit and they told me that it was their normal practice. I went out to the front desk to ask them about it and they said that I should not have been charged. When I relayed this to the Optical Center they said that the front desk was wrong. Now sure, it is not a lot of money, but it is the principal. To add insult to injury, when I went to Warby Parker to get my new glasses (an absolutely wonderful company, btw), they took my PD measurement for free as part of the setup. This just serves as a warning that the Optical Center (which is part of Dr. Beeve's office) and Dr. Beeve's front office do not communicate well, and to make sure that you ask about every potential charge associated with your visit so that you do not have any surprises as I did. read more

Dr. Beeve provides excellent eye care and his staff is highly professional and helpful. Thank you!

The office cancelled my long scheduled eye surgery on the same day as the surgery after providing totally incorrect pre-surgery information. I have been a patient of Dr. Beeve for a number of years for ordinary eye care and the interactions have been fine. Several years ago Dr. Beeve recommended eyelid surgery but I was unable to find a time with a clear calendar for the several week recovery period. I finally found an opening and scheduled the procedure for today several months ago. I did not receive any followup information from the office as the appointment approached. Therefore I initiated a call to the office to confirm the time of the appointment (I had been given a day but not a time) and to inquire about any pre-surgery actions. I was told that there were no special preparations except to have a driver accompany me to the appointment and that I should continue taking my current medications (which they have on file). Yesterday while I was flying back into town specifically for the appointment I received a voicemail asking if I had stopped taking the low-dose aspirin that I normally take. Of course not only had the office NOT advised me to stop taking my normal aspirin they had affirmatively told me to continue all my regular medications. I called this morning to inform them that I had not taken the low-dose aspirin yesterday or today upon receiving their message. They then informed me that they were cancelling the procedure scheduled for later today due to the fact that I had not stopped the aspirin sooner (though - to repeat - the office had specifically told me to continue taking all my medications and had not said to stop the aspirin at any time). I have rebuilt my schedule around this procedure that was scheduled months ago. I followed the precise advice provided by the office. I returned home early for the procedure and have cleared my calendar for the next 2 weeks. Now that is all wasted given the office's improper pre-surgery advice (and had I not called them and gotten those improper instructions I would have had no contact at all or any pre-surgery instructions from the office except for an automated appointment confirmation email). Needless to say, I have terminated my dealings with the Beeve office and Dr. Beeve based on this totally unprofessional experience. read more

The doctor was great but did nothing about eye glass department which took a month to get me my glasses order completed. This departnent on two occassions was very disrespectful and spoke and acted inapproprately with a patient. I'm not sure which one to write on and don't know why they have 2 accounts on Yelp, but I'm commenting on a visit from a couple years ago (2 I think). I saw them on Best of LA (the weekend show on channel 9, I think) and never having been to a vision care facility, I decided to go to them. I was having this bizarre pain in the back of my right eye and it only occurs during the middle of the day around summer time. So I go to the office. The staff was nice enough. Dr. Scott Beeve did some test and suggested it might be a slight astigmatism and that I get some prescription glasses. Being unaware and naive of the process, I take his "expertise," he had me go into their optometrist office and the optometrist ordered a pair of glasses with a low cylinder. I talked to some people afterwards and decided to get a second opinion. I went to the USC Doheny Eye Institute and they ran about a dozen test, which was about 11 more test than Dr. Beeve performed and they had no idea what was wrong with my eye, but pretty much narrowed it down to allergies. So I go back to the office and luckily Dr. Scott Beeve wasn't there because I don't know how I would have reacted. I truly felt like he lied to my face and tried to rip me off. I explained to the optometrist about my second opinion and she understood and seemed a little peeved at the "Dr." She gave me a refund and apologized. That's my story. Hope no one else had this issue. read more

Well it's been over a year since I have had Lasik's here! And very disappointed, and this procedure has cost me tens of thousands beyond the cost of procedure as I had to give up my Career as A USPS Mail Man! They advertise "Never Wear Glasses Again" or something along those lines. Yet, now I have to have 200+ Power to read about anything 2 feet in front of me ! On occasion, I can clearly see leaves on trees at a great distance but not consistently Previous The Procedure, They knew I had very very sensitive eyes & I nervously repeated it to everyone in advance every appointment! The Doctor said anything you need, will be no problem! He ended up using the blade procedure to finish my eyes since he could not continue w/Laser as I was freaking out for lack of better term! My eye balls were in a very uncomfortable clamp ( The Blade Procedure is supposed to be a lot cheaper & The Doctor previously telling me that for some reason he would do the blade procedure $800 an eye, yet, no discount as $5,500 plus misc costs were what we paid !! ) The day I went into for The Post Surgery, They were very short handed and fairly far behind, so as my appointment came, they ( The Staff & Doc) asked if I had any issues, comments or??!! They didn't hear anything I had to say! They claimed I had 20/15 vision, malarky !! I tried telling them my vision was also inconsistent and I could not hardly see up close! I was told give it awhile, a few days a couple weeks, everyone is a little different, yada yada yada All I am Saying here folks, Please Do Your Home Work Before You Consider Doing This Procedure! It Is Not For Everyone Despite What They Try To SELL You!! Research this for hours and read reviews from everyone you can regardless of where they had it done! You will thank me for this later! Talk to many folks that have had it done, How Long ago? How did it effect you before & after? What was your age and eye sight & eye health before and after? Did they have contacts? Did they have sensitive eyes? A light stigmatism? etc.... Some people can easily touch their eyes and roll their eye balls around on their fingers! Maybe an easy Procedure for them, but not if you have super sensitive eyes! Don't believe them (Doctors) when they say they will medicate you! They can only numb your sensitivity so much and keep you coherent for the procedure ! I was 54 and my eyesight was not so bad that I had to wear glasses to do my job or thrive!, Now I have to wear reading glasses around my neck just to look at a Huge Print Menu or cut my fingernails or the simplest of things! I have to even enlarge my font and brighten my screen on my cpu to do the simplest of tasks ! I use to see like a cat at night in the dark outside! Now I need to tape a floodlight to my hat to walk the dog on a street lit road! I wished I would have wrote this months ago, but thought it only fair to give my eyes some time and already the close sightedness (seeing far) is faltering from a year ago! ***BEWARE: IF SOMETHING SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS*** read more

It's truly amazing. I had Lasik just over a year ago. I was nearly blind up close. Carried reading glasses everywhere and couldn't see a thing without them. Far away vision was decent but deteriorating. I'm 53 and had great eyesight my whole life until about 40, when the close up vision started to go and steadily deteriorated over the next 10 years. Far away vision started to get worse just a few years ago. I had what's called mono-vision Lasik. This is where they correct one eye for close and one for far. The brain figures out the rest. Right away I could see. It took a bout a month or so for the "merging" to really be complete. But after a month it was perfect. Went back today for the one year check iin and my eyesight is perfect. It's totally awesome and Dr Beeve is great. If you are hesitating, don't. It works. read more
