not really happy with this place, i sent my mom here for new glasses. (she did her vision test here too) we paid a lot of money and she said it was a waste because the glasses didn't capture the focus correctly, so the doctor didn't do the vision test accurately. She said every time she wears the glasses she gets dizzy because he didn't capture it correctly, she tried to get used to them but they were dangerous. so she's wearing her old glasses and we're looking for the other doctor who tested her correctly for the old ones. I got my glasses here too and they seemed fine, but i got a vision test for a school physical, and they told me with glasses my vision wasn't 20/20 (which it should have been for my case, so the vision test they gave me to get my glasses at this business was once again inaccurate/prescription was not strong enough, other reviews say the same thing!). read more

Crescenta Optometry is a great convenient stop for me because Dr. Park runs a great small Optometry that focuses on the details that tend get lost in the big Optometry places. Dr. Park was very attentive and a good listener whereas you don't have to worry about the service nor have to repeat yourself again and again. Crescenta Optometry is a nice small shop that runs very efficiently and has a great selection of frames that "even" I liked. There is no red tape in his office like you would find in the larger places & he maintains great patient information, so even if you forget the details, he keeps great records. I couldn't find an email address for Dr. Park so I'll tell him here. Your glasses are great, but maybe your staffer isn't so good in telling people how dangerous a NEW prescription can be. After going to urgent care and the ER a couple of times, I finally figured out that the new glasses magnified everything about 30% causing me to misjudge my steps. I saw good reviews on this place, so decided to come here for an eye exam and glasses. I came in with my family, and let me just say, this is not a family friendly optometry office. We were greeted, or should I say yelled at by an extremely unfriendly eye doctor who spoke to my son and I horribly! After feeling badly about the experience, we decided to leave immediately, and went down the street to another optometrist. The glasses that were suggested to me fit so well I didn't need any adjustments after getting them. The store also has buy 1, get one 50% deals always. I was happily stunned at the bottom line I paid for prescription glasses and sunglasses. My last set, through that company with the owl, were cheap, poorly made, and fairly bad customer service. Along with that, I ended up having to pay back some of the insurance money that was initially approved by them. They initially gave me a couple weeks to get them. 3 weeks passed by and no call to come pick them up. So I decided to call and nothing. Gave them another week and they checked that they had been delivered, apparently they misplaced them in the store. I had bought glasses here before but since I never had a problem, I thought it was an ok business. Purchased Gucci prescription sunglasses here and one of the temples broke within a month. These were $300 frames (not including the lenses) and I couldn't get any help from these people. Have a huge selection from $100 that my insurance covers completely to high end brands. They have everything. The young guy at the front is very nice and always helps with picking out glasses and I do prefer the male doctor here. A couple weeks ago I got my exam and decided to go for contacts. I ordered some in "natural blue and natural green". Wanted something different. Always have a good experience here. The place is clean. It's convenient and has late hours (Til 7pm) although not open Sunday's :/ I really like this place and trust them and will continue going to them. Also I need to go back this week. I came in for a long needed exam because I knew my eyes had gotten worse. I called earlier today and they fit me and my boyfriend in at 6pm, same day! The doctor got us in at our appointment time and was quick but thorough. We both needed glasses and I choose some fairly inexpensive ones that matched the ones I already wear. Our family has been going here for years and Dr. Kim is wonderful---they take VSP. I never had difficulty with either my Fendi or Gucci prescription glasses, they were fine. I went here only because of the location (close to my parents--my mom has to babysit my kiddo) and because my insurance VSP is accepted here. Dr. Kim is very friendly and knows her job well. What makes me give this place 2 stars is the clerk who deals with processing the orders for contacts/glasses and tries to explain your insurance. I felt pressured into buying glasses and getting contacts. Not only that, I spent hundreds of dollars out of pocket for NON-designer glasses - which turned out to be piece of crap anyway (the screws keep coming out). It's a major rip off and the most expensive place I've ever been to (EVEN having insurance) in the last 20 years. Go someplace else. You will get nickle and dimed and not know it!! The front desk girl confuses you into spending WAY more than you ever will someplace else! read more

Yeah, Dr. Kim is nice but when it comes to her return policy, be sure to purchase frames that are still under warranty by the manufacturer. Our pair broke within eight months of regular use(no drops or squishes), and her clerk said that because the frames were no longer produced by Ray Ban, they couldn't be replaced, so we had to suffer the loss. I brought up the point to Dr. Kim that it is their responsibility to inform the customer of such variances in their warranty policy and that they shouldn't be selling out-of-date frames in the first place, but she remained steadfast in her denial of any responsibility and would not offer any compensation. Let the buyer beware. Another smaller concern that is echoed by other Yelpers in this thread is her choice in instructing her clerk to pressure you into purchasing her higher-priced frames. Each time we've made a purchase, they make you feel embarrassed for asking what the prices are and whether they have any cheaper pairs. read more

Dr Park has been the new doc here since January. I am appalled at the previous negative review. Dr. Kim hasn't been at this office in months! Is there something that can be done about a libelous review? I stopped in at this convenient optometry office in the Ralph's shopping center because my glasses needed a minor repair. While I was waiting, I thought I would try on some frames for my own amusement. Frames never fit my low bridge, wide face. AKA Asian Fit. I know, I know, it sounds like a racist term from 'the man' but let me tell you, all my Asian peeps, the fit is real! I was doing some research for the past couple of months and thought I would have to go to San Francisco to find this magical land of glasses that fit, but lo, here it is in La Crescenta! I was able to find a pair of plastic frames! No nose pads! What?!
