Listen up. Dr Allison is the best. Every time I see her, she gives her all to make sure my new prescription gets me the sharpest vision possible. I have a very complicated case, and she always takes that into account when she's fitting me for new glasses. Last year I went to another local optometrist office. Instead of waiting a week or two for her, I got this other appointment fairly quickly. That should have been a clue. This other doctor didn't bother to actually change my RX for new glasses after I sat through the exam. I got the new glasses but I was wondering, why can't I see? So I went back and the doctor basically said they thought the new RX would be too strong for me, so they kept it the same. WHAT? Why would I come in? For a new set of groovy frames??? I had to get the glasses remade and it took like another month. And they weren't very good even then. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't be a dummy and go elsewhere. Dr Allison really is exceptional. After a health issue that left me with double vision, I ended up with a very specific (and tricky) prescription. Thankfully, we found Dr. Park and I couldn't be more grateful. She was incredibly thorough in testing my vision and took the time to get everything just right. She recommended separate single-vision lenses for reading, and that made a huge difference. I was due for an annual eye exam and called Glendale Optometry. I made an appointment and a few weeks later, walked into the location only to find out that I was 30 minutes late! This was completely my fault as I thought my appointment was at 2:30 pm. Just a heads up, they only schedule appointments on the hour! Either way, Dr. Allison Park was more than accommodating and we began the examination process. After several different tests, it appears my eyes are straining to focus. Quite honestly, I wasn't pitched a sale nor urged to buy glasses, which actually made me want to buy glasses as a preemptive measure to keep my vision intact. Brian helped me pick out the frames after explaining what I was looking for. There's a decent selection to choose from with various price points. Of course I end up choosing one a bit out of budget, but when it comes to vision and appearance, you gotta treat yourself. I was told it would take 2 weeks for my glasses to be ready but it took a week before I got the text notification that it was ready for pickup. My family has been going to this office, annually, for some years, and Dr Park and Brian are just about two of the kindest people in the business! Every time we enter, we're always greeted w/ the nicest smiles! During our appointments, all our conversations start where they left off the year prior. Dr Park is so easy to talk to and we never feel rushed. She's very thorough and professional, and answers all of our questions. She'll provide many options and give her honest opinions for each, along with the pros and cons so you'd be able to make your own decisions w/o any pressure. After the exam, you have the choice of walking out w your prescription or having the pleasure to work w Brian. He's the best at recommending frames. He'll look at you and determine the best shape that suits your face. He'll grab a pair of frames that you wouldn't even consider; you'd try them on, and you'd be amazed on how they'd look! He won't try and upsell you on more expensive frames. Many times we'd be looking at some, and he'd recommend a pair that would be significantly more affordable! Dr.Park has been my optometrist since I was very young. I suffer from astigmatism and have very sensitive eyes that require attention to detail. Dr. Park has honestly been the best and I haven't gone to another optometrist since. She's very helpful and lets me know in detail of what condition I have with my eyes and how to further care for them, I'm not sure any other optometrist would care to notice and give the same care as she has. This place sucks. Both the owner and her husband are kind of clueless and condescending. They will put on a smile to get your business but once you get past that veneer you'll be disappointed, as I was. Before I left them for a new eye doctor I bought a couple pairs of eye glasses and both were subpar. They had numerous issues with the lenses in particular that were never resolved. They just had to be "sent back to the lab" over and over again. Wait times were ridiculous. When I finally complained they had no idea how to handle the pushback. The husband also definitely rocks SDE with a paper thin ego. Not surprised they had to give up their previous location on Brand to Warby Parker. read more

This place is the best! My son came in for an eye exam and we were treated by Dr Park. She was meticulous, gentle, and took such great care of my son! He had an eye condition that she diagnosed that wasn't see before. She explained everything very thoroughly and I understood exactly what was going on. What impressed me the most was the caring attitude and help that Dr Park gave to us. She even followed up on our referral to a specialist to make sure that we were able to be seen. I just got back from a follow-up visit. I originally ordered bi-focal lenses, but I really couldn't work on my computer... Instead of taking my glasses to have the new lenses put in, they measured, added the middle lens & called me when the replacement lens came in. I came in for a routine eye appointment a few weeks ago because I needed to update my contact lens prescription. Dr. Park was amazingly detailed and thorough in giving me an eye exam. But periodically, throughout the exam, she would step back and wonder aloud why my eyes were so red. I told her that I'd been to see other optometrists and opthalmologists about the redness. It's a condition I've had for years--very bloodshot eyes. But none of them had been able to find an actual cause. In fact, I'd even been to see general medical practitioners and traditional chinese medicine healers about the redness, and really, the only diagnosis I'd ever gotten was that it might be a circulatory issue (and so I needed to exercise more!). Anyway, I told Dr. Park that she shouldn't worry about it. Nevertheless, she was completely undeterred. In between testing my eyesight and figuring out my prescription, she was still mulling over the redness, trying to find the root of the problem. Finally, at the end of my appointment, she decided to try one last thing: she flipped my eyelids over to examine them. And that's how she got to the root cause of my eye redness--turns out I have these oil gland blockages under my eyelids that prevent them from lubricating my eyes properly. I can't say enough how much Dr. Park has done for me with this diagnosis. For years, I'd been thinking I had some sort of lingering health issue that nobody could figure out. (I'd also been freaking people out with my red eyes wherever I went!). Because of her caring, her deep professionalism, and her incredible determination to push her abilities to the limit to find answers, she's truly changed my life. read more

Called for an eye exam today with hopes they could fit me in. They did have 1 opening, but there was a "hold" on my insurance due to that "other" place in Pasadena. I found Glendale Optometry a few years ago when I was experiencing an ocular migraine and needed to get into an optometrist ASAP. After having a great experience the first visit, I started seeing Dr. Park for my regular eye exams. They moved locations a few months ago, and are in Glendale, but close to Montrose. Parking is easier/free at the new location, which is always a plus. I have VSP insurance, which is accepted here. They even had frames that were completely covered by my insurance. I've only had positive experiences here. Dr. Park is friendly while also being professional. I highly recommend this Optometrist! read more

I finally got to leave my review cause my eyes are less dilated so I can actually see my phone screen at least lol Spent a lot of time there today with Dr. Allyson first checking my eyes. I was really worried cause I had surgery in the past and was pretty bad and having someone new check my eyes....I was pretty nervous about. Despite that, she was great! Did all the exams necessary to have my prescriptions done and changed and went through every single detail of every small change my eyes went through after the surgery. She was very welcoming and made me feel like she has been my Optometrist since ever! After all the exams I needed new lenses and a new frame. Talked to Brian about those. Guys I can say I'm a little picky and we went through a lot of frames till we found one that both please me and my pocket. Best news of all this: they have pretty much all their lenses crafted by Zeiss directly at their labs in Germany and they're one of the best lenses out there! I can't wait to get my new glasses!!! Overall an awesome experience and they're for sure going to be my Optometrist from now on. God bless Dr. Allison Park! I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am for this woman. She completely changed my life. She is patient, caring, and extremely knowledgeable in her field. I have had problems with my vision since I was a child (perhaps aggravated by all the years of reading in the dark with a flashlight past my bedtime) and have gone through at least 5-6 optometrists that I can recall off the top of my head. Dr. Park is the ONLY one I can trust with my vision. I always wore glasses but started wearing contacts over 12 years ago. The problem was that all this time I was constantly SO uncomfortable with my contacts but just figured it was something I had to deal with in order to avoid wearing glasses. They were always scratching my eyes, drying out, and consequently causing strain. When I first came to Dr. Park, she immediately let me know that the contacts I had been wearing for years were actually way too small for my eyes and as a result were scratching my cornea. She informed me that I had astigmatism and that I needed larger specialized contact lenses. I honestly lost count of how many different contacts she had me try out over the course of weeks until we found a brand that fit perfectly. If you are sensitive like me and have larger eyes, I would recommend trying out the larger BioTrue or Acuvue lenses (but Dr. Park would definitely know what suits you better than I would). However, she doesn't just stop at the perfect lenses. She is always trying to make sure you have the best of the best for your eyes. At my recent exam, she introduced me to a newer type of contact lens that she was waiting on to come out for me to try. Now I'm even more comfortable than I was before. I also purchased very lightweight glasses here as well. It took me forever because I am THAT picky but Dr. Park and her husband, Brian, we're so patient with me and made sure that I ended up with a smaller frame that wouldn't cause headaches and would fit my face better than all my previous ones. There's a reason why Glendale Optometry has a 5 star rating. Best optometrist I have ever gone to in 14 years and would highly recommend you go and see her for your next exam!!! read more

I came here for my annual eye exam. Everyone was really friendly, and most importantly, they use a non invasive method to measure intra occular pressure (aka NO puff of air in the eye!) The exam went by quickly and the doctor was professional and friendly. All in all a great experience! They carry a good amount of frames as well, although I ended up ordering my glasses from Warby Parker. I ordered contacts from them, and they arrived to the store in two business days. they use technology well and immediately sent a text reminder. Great place! read more

The best optometry my family and I have been to!!! Brian and Allison are soso nice and welcoming. Dr. Allison Park is the optometrist and is very informative and will never rush during your exam. My prescription is very high so I asked her about LASIK and she went through everything with me that gave me a lot of comfort. The office is cute and cozy and there's a TV in the waiting room! Brian works at the front desk and always makes sure to ask if I need additional contacts so he orders them. Always on top of it!!! I've been to three different optometrists in three years - they all ranged from bad to okay. After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to try this place since they also took my insurance. I'm glad I did. Dr. Park is an amazing doctor -- very thorough, friendly, and professional. She explained everything she was doing and seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. Bryan was just as equally friendly and professional when handling the insurance and payment process. I'm pretty picky about selecting frames (they have great selection) and both of them were unbelievably accommodating. I cannot recommend them enough. They run a great office. Experience: I called on a Wednesday during lunch and spoke to the owner, he booked me for the following Saturday and held a rsvp for my son as I was debating rather to get his eyes checked as well. We were greeted with genuine smiles from the moment we walked into the establishment. The place was small but very clean and very efficient. I admired their selection of frames as much as I admire the art gallery that covered the walls behind their register, their toddler sons are quite the dinosaur artist. I was greeted by the owner Brian but was seen by his wife Allison. They make an awesome team and love the fact that the entire family was involved as the kids joyfully occupied the playroom they had built in the back. Allison was very thorough and made sure to offer explanations for all procedures she was conducting, she answered every question we asked (and my 11 year old son can really come up with some extraterrestrial questions) with a confidence that allowed me to assume she knew exactly what she was doing. What I loved most about the visit was she really knew her stuff and was very patient throughout the entire matter. My past eye exams always felt rushed or I always felt like my prescription could be a little clearer. She truly took her time to make sure my son and I felt perfect about our new eyes. I was able to get an appointment after work (5 p.m.) The office is right across from that beautiful promenade mall-thingy on Brand in Glendale (hey, I'm new here). When I got there I was warmly greeted and promptly got started. I received tests I hadn't had before. The entire process wasn't just technical either; It was a discussion. Even though it was my first time there they took care of me like I'd been going there for years. I'm a pretty curious person, so I asked a lot of questions. I learned how to better take care of my eyes and what to look out for. She took the time necessary, that's my point. If you're less chatty or pressed for time she got everything done efficiently, leaving time to talk if needs be. NO ONE ever explained about why my contacts might be bothering me. It was just,"Try these." Well, we got to the bottom of a couple things and my new contacts are more comfortable. Sometimes taking a few extra minutes makes a world of difference. You only get one pair of eyes, ever, so why not take them to someone who is paying close, professional attention? TL;DR: They're taking new patients, they have a cute office in a pretty location, and with a relaxing, interesting, professional experience under my belt I can fully recommend them with five stars. read more
