I could not be happier with my overall experience at Glendale Optometry and in fact, I ended up purchasing two pairs of prescription glasses from them. Dr. Allison Park is extremely pleasant and took her time during the exam. You could tell she really cared about making sure it was done right. I've heard one too many horror stories about botched exams/prescriptions and in fact they caught a couple errors in my existing one! She was also the first in the 20+yrs that I've been wearing glasses (and at least a dozen exams) to tell me of my slight stigmatism. Dr. Park's thorough process was comforting to say the least. Dr. Allison Park and her husband Brian are the dynamic duo! The office has a modern vibe with cool looking lights and chandeliers. The best part is the children's playroom, where my 2 year old daughter was instantly drawn to the age appropriate toys and movies. The place is clean and is situated in a bustling part of Glendale, right across from The Americana. Upon entrance, I was greeted warmly by Bryan. You could tell he is a genuinely nice guy with a friendly and upbeat personality. Dr. Park is pretty cool and hip. She too was friendly and during the thorough examination she would explain to me what the next steps were before proceeding. That calmed my nerves a bit, because let's be honest, who isn't afraid of going to the doctor's office. After the examination they helped me picked out glasses. I even asked whether they thought I should get prescription sunglasses and Dr. Park was honest enough to tell me that I didn't need it. Ok, so I hadn't been to an optometrist since some time around middle school and my vision coverage with my insurance had kicked in and I thought to myself, "alright lets put this puppy to use and hopefully I'm not going blind or anything". So I did what most of us do nowadays without any sort of referral or recommendation, I did a little research and eventually went through several local Yelp reviews. After surveying around I found Dr. Park to be a viable candidate as my new optometrist. So I called in and spoke to Brian, he got all my info and went over my insurance coverage and made my appointment for literally the following day. I went in and met with Brian and Dr. Park, who are a nice pair of individuals to say the least, filled out my paperwork and we proceeded to the examination room. I might mention I have a weird phobia with getting poked in the eye (yeah I know I got issues) which I explained beforehand to Dr. Park but she put me at ease, she was awesome. Which was great bc then I opened up to a new style to add to my collection. This place is AMAZING. My wife came in for some sunglasses and not only do they carry a fantastic selection of frames, Most importantly, they are super knowledgeable and friendly. So nice, so professional. I didn't really notice how subpar my other optometrist was until I experienced how easy an appointment could be. There was no long wait, sassy receptionist, and no rushed exam. And once the doctor saw me, she was focused only on me, not bopping back and forth between appointments like the other place. I am used to awkwardly sitting in the eye exam room wondering if they are ever coming back. Not here! She gave me way more tests and actually got me out faster just because she was focused. She also had all the coolest and newest gadgets and testing equipment. I felt like I was being tested to go to outer space in the year 2035. Best of all, she caught a mistake that my other eye place made. Up until now, I thought it was normal for contacts to just pop out randomly. When I called Brian was very friendly and offered me an appointment right away Literally, right away... I live a few blocks away so I was there in about 10 minutes. Brian was on the phone when I walked in but greeted me with a big smile and a nod. Dr. Park came right out and shook my hand. She could not have been nicer, more caring or more thorough. I told her I have had problems with the dilation drops making me nauseated in the past; she made sure I was hydrated before she put them in and elevated my feet during the waiting period and I had no problem. I made friendly chit-chat with both of these lovely people before I left with my 2 prescriptions feeling Very well taken care of. Cost of the exam was $140 which was on par or less than a number of places I called in the area. Very pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend them! read more

Dr. Allison Park saved my eyesight -- literally. When I went in for a routine yearly contact lens prescription update, she asked to dilate my eyes, and she found a retinal tear and detachment, and she sent me to the hospital immediately. I have now recovered from the emergency detachment repair procedure, which my retinal surgeon said was a success because I came in so early. And I went in so early because of Dr. Park. I had had no symptoms, so if she hadn't caught this, I could have been blind in one eye right now. But my vision is just about back to where it was 3 weeks ago when I first walked in to Glendale Optometry. I'm looking forward to returning to actually fill my contact lens prescription, as this was such a friendly place to be. In the meantime, I will never be able to thank Dr. Park enough. Got my first eye exam here. Dr. Park was very knowledgeable and thorough. It turns out I have great vision. But instead of just stopping at that and letting me go, Dr. Park examined my eyes very thoroughly. She found some sun damage in my eyes and told me that I should wear sunglasses to protect them. She answered all my questions and never made me feel like she was in a hurry. Buying sunglasses are a big hassle for me because I have a large head. Only about 5% of glasses fit me. The worker in the front, a really big Korean guy...I think his name was Brian, actually called me about 2 weeks after my eye exam when a large pair of sunglasses came in that he thought would suit me. I went back and tried them on and they were perfect. Just awesome service. They have a great selection of sunglasses. I would definitely gets exams and buy from them again. read more

I happened to be picking up my contacts when she noticed I had an aggressive eye infection and she went above and beyond to make sure it healed properly. This is the best place where you can ever be if you are concerned about your eyes. Stepped in to get my eyes checked after about three years of not having them checked. Dr. Allison Park was really really good, Getting in and having the appointment was a snap. And then having a thorough or I can say a very thorough eye exam and she ended up diagnosing me with glaucoma that I didn't know about. Without her help I wouldn't ever know that I have such a horrible disease that would end me up blind. She insisted that I have to immediately see an ophthalmologist and she referred me to one of her doctors I went there within an hour and the doctor was very good as well and I can't say thank you enough. Even though I heard the most horrible thing in my life but I am so thankful that she address that situation so I can take care of it right now. and the other comforting part is that you feel you're in somebody else's house, her kids were playing in there play room and her husband Brian was helping her out and taking care of the glasses part. read more
