We had a great experience at Sobie's. Enjoyed the vibe, had some great food, and appreciated the attentive staff. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Dinner was excellent! 100% check out this new spot! I ate at the bar which has a great selection of local beers and cocktails. Started with the Sobie's salad with house made dressing and the soup of the day, clam chowder. I had the broasted chicken for my entree. All the dishes were well thought and and had excellent flavors. The chicken was crispy on the outside and super juicy. Waitstaff were busy but all nice and attentive. read more

Second time we were here. The first was when they just recently opened, on a Saturday night. Good thing we made reservations. Totally packed place. It is loud here, but oh well. Food was excellent: Delmonico and Tornados au Poive. Our waitress was a little... out there? Off putting? Over familiar with the guests? Tonight we did sandwiches and sat at the bar. Oops, our waitress from the first night is now the bartender. Still and little loud and can you say.. squirrel? But she is very friendly. The 3 girls hanging out and chatting at the front were a little off putting, but maybe not enough to do on a Monday night. We shared the blueberry basil bruschetta, wow amazing. And we split the duckwich and pork tenderloin schitzelwich. Duckwich had very good flavor combo, but it seemed dry, with the corn tortilla flatbread and goat cheese. Still an excellent combination. The schnitzelwich was very good, yummy. There was a thick slice of tomato on it and since this farm to table restaurant.... Tomato in April? I took it off my half of the sandwich, tasted like the hydroponic stuff you get at the grocery store... no flavor. The decor in the place is stunning, two huge antiques are focal points. The bar is a modern rustic and fabulous. On the other side is a huge barn door. So cool, I want one. Overall, great place, come in down and give it a try! read more

Lunch at Sobie's, unbelievable menu of unique items for Lake Country. Started with seafood gumbo, piping hot with large pieces of seafood and just enough pepper to give it the zing it needs. Clam strips were large pieces of meat, nicely breaded and a unique cocktail sauce that went perfectly with the clams. Would swear we were on the coast. Definitely worth coming back for dinner, the menu is broad and had a variety of choices from seafood, vegetarian, pork and beef; really great vibe! read more

Amazing food in a comfortable atmosphere. Loved all our appetizers including the blueberry bruschetta and the cheese curds with memorable Mustard dipping sauce. Dinner favorites included the shrimp and scallop pasta and the broasted chicken. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the bartender to our waitress to Lydia, the owner. I would absolutely recommend Sobie's!!! read more

Excellent food, excellent service, and a fine ambience. Located In the heart of quaint downtown Oconomowoc. One of our favorite restaurants anywhere, hands down! read more

Blueberry Basil Bruschetta was delicious, almost like a dessert. Some of staff need more training. Host didn't even welcome me. When our party arrived we sat at bar for almost 10 minutes without a bartender approaching us and started washing glasses. I flagged him down to serve us. Acoustics are poor! Can't even have a conversation across the table. Also, the bar servers don't know anything about wines served. read more

Have been here quite a few times but the last few meals, have not been impressed at all with the service. Today I brought my mom here to celebrate our birthdays and was hoping for a good experience and not only did her coffee cup clearly have lipstick that was previously not washed off but our check got lost and we waited over 45 minutes for a burger and chicken sandwich. We were sitting outside but the inside was hardly packed so there should be no excuse for this. Also had to go inside on a few occasions because our waitress didn't come back to refill beverages or check on things. This is the second time our check has been "lost" and nothing has ever been offered for the inconvenience. read more

Tonight was my second visit to this wonderful farm to table restaurant located in downtown Oconomowoc, and they did not disappoint. They offer a fabulous menu with creative daily specials. Tonight I decided to try the vegetarian beet burger because I'd never heard of anything like it. It was absolutely out of this world and I'm not vegetarian. I'm going back for the crab cakes later this week. Rachel, our server was knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. They offer a full bar but I love their great selections of wines. Great value, good ambiance and excellent staff and outstanding creative dishes. Open for brunch on Sundays and lunches daily. They're only closed on Tuesdays. If you really want a treat, this is the place to go. Didn't see a kids menu which was ok with me. read more

5 star+. We found this restaurant in Yelp while traveling to Madison. A beautiful and cozy restaurant with excellent food and top notch service. We went for lunch and sampled from a brand new lunch menu. It all looked so good, our decision as to what to order was a difficult one. We ordered the English Pig and the beef tenderloin sandwich. The burger and the steak (VERY tender) were cooked perfectly. Don't miss this eatery!! read more

Sobie's Restaurant - New American Near Me - Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

I was very disappointed in our experience at Sobie's. I am lactose-intolerant and had an allergy card to help with food preparation. I was given very few options by the waitress. Normally at a reputable restaurant, a manager would be called to help and to alert the kitchen. The waitress had very little knowledge about the ingredients of the food, which was concerning. When I asked for a simple grilled chicken sandwich without the avocado chimichurri, and asked for a slice of avocado instead, she said it would cost extra. The restaurant was out of the sweet potato fries I ordered. When my sandwich arrived, it was charred in many places. Char on meat upsets my stomach. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she told me I should have requested no char! I ended up eating the bacon on my sandwich and some coleslaw. No attempt was made to remedy the problem, and we ended up paying $14 for a meal that I could not eat. Needless to say, I left the restaurant feeling hungry and frustrated. read more

Went to Sobies for New Years Eve. OMG!! Everything was DELICIOUS!! My friend and I had the mushroom stroganoff. She added duck and I added the beef tenderloin. We both loved our dishes. My husband had the steak special and it was outstanding! My friends husband had the pork chop and he said it was the best pork chop he's ever had. We had appetizers as well. Definitely recommend the crab cakes and scallops. Both were delicious. Their Moscow mule drink options were delicious. We tried the caramel apple and lac la belle. It's so nice to finally find a restaurant where everything you order is outstanding and worth every penny. Our waitress was very attentive and the atmosphere was inviting. Definitely coming back:) read more

This was our first time here and they had about a 10 -15 minute wait so because we were so hungry we opted to eat at the bar. Our bartender/server Jason was awesome!! He is perfect for this position. Great multitasker and very personable! 5 stars goes out to him! The only reason we gave the review 4 stars was because of the long wait for the food and once we got our food it was just barely warm. We did not say anything because we were so hungry. I had the crab benedict and my husband had the crème brûlée French toast. We would come back again thanks to Jason!! read more

If you are in Oconomowoc make sure to check out this great new restaurant. Very cute. The food was delicious...all fresh and local ingredients. Our party tried the broasted chicken, beef tenderloin sandwich, lump crab cobb salad and the make your own burger and everything was absolutely spectacular! The owner is extremely friendly. Amazing food and service. In town from Minneapolis and found this gem. Had the pork chop special with scallop potatoes and carrots...perfectly cooked! You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back for another tasting! read more

Had a fantastic lunch. Rhubarb old fashion was amazing. Very generous portions. Service was superior and with a smile! We had crab cakes & burgers . read more

Brunch menu awesome, not your everyday breakfast choices. All 3 in our party had something different - chicken and waffles (he wants more), crab cake Benedict (yep I'm getting this again), and I had regular eggs Benedict (yum, not that big tough ham steak) (yummy). Potatoes cooked perfectly. Great beer selection, nice cocktail specials. We'll be back soon. Service above average read more

We ordered a take-out on Friday night and it didn't disappoint! My husband's broasted fish fry was crispy and delish along with the made from scratch french fries and coleslaw. I had the 6 oz tenderloin open faced sandwich which was done to medium perfection. I loved the side salad with spinach, red onion, goat cheese, candied pecans and house-made ranch dressing. Really appreciated that they packed all the food in cardboard carry-out containers! We will definately order from Sobie's again! read more

Waitress was RUDE. No kids menus. refuse to remove an ingredient from a dish for allergies/dislike (ie. cheese, tomatoes, etc), making it extremely difficult to find a dish due to the odd menu. read more

Food was just ok no flavor in seafood pasta. I cook better at home. I do not recommended if you like good food! Just home cooking

Unbelievable place. Great food, and creative food options. Excellent service. Fair prices. Definitely go!

We tried Sobie's restaurant for the first time last night. We recently moved to Oconomowoc and have been trying local restaurants now that things have opened up. I ordered the broasted chicken dinner and my husband ordered the halibut. We both loved our meals! Allysa was our waitresss and she was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back. read more

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and adorable drinks. Plus beer for those who aren't interested in cocktails. :)

Delicious food, great service & atmosphere, we love Sobie's! Try the bruschetta, it's amazing!

Had dinner here this evening. Great decor with a beautiful bar. Staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. The food was delicious. Our group had the clam chowder, vegetable Korma, fried fish, and chilean sea bass. All were delicious. Will definitely be back. read more

Is it too soon to say "this is the place where everybody knows our name?" After stopping across the street for a glass of wine, we wandered in here. Had a couple of appetizers, which scored a "10!" The scallop cakes and Glouschester cheese curds... AMAZING!! Welcoming bartender... owner spent time with us explaining the history, and then offering a taste of an amazing Edinburgh gin. We are definitely coming back!! read more

Had a great lunch with 10 of us. Service was great, after the lunch crowd! We loved the Butter Burgers and Fries. Cubana sandwich was very good, too! read more

For location, concept and decor, three stars. The food which should be the star of the show, less than one star. Service was earnest and prompt. We were a group of four, tried a couple appetizers, some poutines, the grouper, the lamb lollipops and drinks. When the grouper came out, apparently blackened/ burnt mean the same thing, the angel hair pasta was sickeningly sour and the portion sizes were enormous to the point of overflowing. The lamb lollipops had the sweet, sickly smell of older meat and was over cooked and chewy... potentially over cooked and over spiced to mask the relative quality and age of the meat. The sides (veggies and or potatoes) were average, but the cheesy potatoes had the distinct flavor of being seriously reheated, with crusty dry bits you get when you microwave potatoes at too high a temp. The bread was tasty and the poutines were ok as well. After spending over $175 on our meals, we went to Culver's afterwards to eat because it was late and no one had finished their meals at Sobies. If the meal had been partially inconsistent, we would give this another try, but it's a lot of money to take a chance on what tasted not so great for the price. read more

Its a fun clean place and the food is great. Nice choices of tap beer from local Brewfinity formerly Sweet Mullits and also Raised Grain. I had the Quack quack and it was delishious. I will be back for sure . read more

We have never had a bad meal here. Great menu. Have tried many different dishes on our many trips. My husband is a huge fan of their fried chicken. You can order it as a meal or by the piece. Lovely carved wood bar. Good wine selection. read more

Another great dining option on Main Street! I had the steak with Gorgonzola cheese and it was super tasty. I'll be back!

Overpriced, extremely slow service, sub-par food! We paid over $20 a plate for terrible food. The shrimp was over breaded and over fried! It was so hard to eat. The pasta was over cooked and mushy; the gnocchi (hand made) was three times bigger than what a gnocchi should be and was dough-y and disgusting, lacking seasoning. The hamburger was the only thing we did enjoy. This was my third time visiting at different times of the day, hoping for different results...never again! Don't waste your money or time on this restaurant. read more

Went here on a whim and will definitely be back. Nothing like this in the area- happy this place opened up

The server was great. The drinks were good too. The general consensus from the four of us that ate there was that the food was salty and wasn't all that great. For the price point of this restaurant, we expected the food to be better. read more

Farm to Table and Great Atmosphere: love the cork wall and polished walnut wood bar top. Finally a high end restaurant in Oconomowoc!

Awful! It took almost 30 minutes to get our drink order, our food was out 45 minutes later and I had to remind the waitress to bring the rest of our drinks. I had the grouper, horribly expensive for what it was. Five spears of asparagus, dried out rice you couldn't eat and over cooked tiny piece of fish. I went home and made myself something to eat because I was still hungry. The best part of the meal was the mule (cocktail). I do not recommend for families or groups. Very loud restaurant. read more

Great food and atmosphere! Service was good and enjoyed the staff. Get the mushroom stroganoff.

The food was good. Service wasn't that great. Everyone who worked there was very friendly,

If you like very rich mediocre food that is overpriced, this is the place for you. The food was lukewarm and the rolls were tasteless and store bought. Two of the least expensive pasta dishes were ordered, a cup of chowder, one Manhattan and a white wine to the tune of $120. The atmosphere did not match the price of food. The wooden chairs were uncomfortable. We told our waitress we were in no rush to order and just wanted to talk as we enjoyed our drink. Apparently our request didn't register with her. our reservation was at 6:00 PM and we were out of there by 7:00 PM. It was our 42 wedding anniversary and we felt rushed to order. Our waitress must have come by three times asking us if we knew what we wanted, even though we reiterated we had not and wanted to take our time. The food was so rich we couldn't finish the medium size portion so we were asked if we wanted to have the food boxed up to take home. We did. instead of taking our bowls from the table and coming back with our boxed left overs, our food food was plopped in a cardboard box at our table. I gave them two stars because I feel generous today and at least the chowder was warm. Last but not least, our food arrived 5 minutes after our order which indicated to me much of their food is prepaid. I would recommend Olive Garden. read more
