Always delicious, fun and a local favorite. The hamburger is fabulous and the fish is wonderful. The staff is friendly and happy.

The sauce from the meatballs made me sick for a week but the fries were tasty and seasoned pretty well ‍ Gotta take the little wins where you can get them! read more

Grill 164 - Meatball appetizer with fries and a breaded mushroom appetizer - American Near Me - Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

Awesome food, awesome service and awesome people make this a place to want to visit again! Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in for a quick dinner after hiking around the lake. Ok beer selection. I had the Reuben sandwich with a side salad. The side salad was crisp and the blue cheese dressing came with a side of actual blue cheese crumbles which was awesome. The Reuben was very tasty though a bit chewy in spots. My wife enjoyed her Philly cheese steak and baked onion soup. Service was friendly and attentive and ambiance was hometown bar. Side note; we both noticed a dank odor in the building which was a bit off putting. read more

I was out in the area and was early for a class so I stopped in for a bite to eat. Sat at the bar and ordered a soda and then asked the bartender if I could order a kid's meal and she said yes. It did seem like she was more attentive what looked like regulars (as someone else mentioned). Maybe it was because I wasn't ordering alcohol, but I didn't feel like the service was all that friendly (I realize alcohol sales are the bread and butter for bars and increase the tip). Food was decent for what it was. I did my usual standard percentage. read more

Service was absolutely terrible. We were rushed through the entire ordering process, we were never given the chance to ask anything, the waitress acted as if she didn't have time for us. We waited over an hour to get our food once we ordered and she never checked on us at all and when we asked for water she acted as if she didn't have time. None of us have ever experienced such bad service before/ this place is just bad, the food was ok. it nothing special. We will not be back here, but good luck if you go, maybe things will get better. read more

First off, we dine here often. Our family members, friends dine here. I estimate I've spent well over $1500 here in the past 20+ yrs. Here is my feedback: Food 4.5 stars Service 2 stars, forgot things, cranky attitude, we asked for more potato salad, cole slaw, bread and we got push back. Just say, "yes, be right back." Ambiance 2 stars, I dislike walking through the little cashier/ waitress space to sit down at my table. Shut down re-model that space, re-open. Maybe move the bathrooms away from the kitchen. Overall 3 stars, not the best customer experience. read more

Delicious food, great service. Nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and greeted us. We will eat there again. Good prices too

First time visiting Grill 164 and overall we were very pleased. The beer was cold and the food was tasty. An older establishment that shows its age and character along with a friendly staff. I had their signature burger which was cooked medium and was very well seasoned and juicy, I would certainly order it again. My wife had the tenderloin steak which was nicely seared and cooked to perfection! Downtown Oconomowoc has a lot of nice establishments and is always fun to visit. read more

Great food! Great service! Friendly atmosphere! Thoroughly enjoyed our food and felt right at home!

Stopped in over 4th of July weekend on a Saturday afternoon. Most folks were camped out for fireworks and the place was rather empty. Kids wanted to sit at the bar, which was was offered and they have bar-rail tables designed for food service. That said, we were glad to have asked for the kids' food immediately, because we waited a full 45 minutes after placing drink and kids menu food orders before the bartender came back around. We sat idle and attempted to gain her attention multiple times, watched as regulars came to the bar, were served and attended to immediately, and when it was at last time for our order, we took it to go, tipped and left. In all we waited more than an hour for discourteous (albeit friendly) service. Unless you go often, I would not recommend this establishment as it is. I'd also skip the kids food. It was overdone and nothing special. read more

We recently stopped in for a burger. It was probably the best burger I've ever had. We started with a bourbon and a beer. The drink was a nice pour (ask for short glass if you want to taste the liquor). We both ordered a grill burger. It was definitely a handmade beef patty cooked on the grill, not flat top. It had excellent flavor and was cooked perfectly. It comes topped with TWO nice strips of bacon, definitely grilled on flat top not deep fried. If your bacon comes out really crisp and crumbles easily; it's probably thrown into the deep fryer. They cook it to perfection!!! Also comes with grilled onions and mushrooms. Your choice of cheese topped with lettuce and tomato on a toasted bun. You also get fries but we upgraded to chili on one order and salad on the other. Both were outstanding. Chili was homemade and salad is always fresh with what tastes like homemade dressing. This has become our new go to place. Beat take out, it's always good, fresh and done when they say. Also when friends come to town it's our go to place. There fish on Friday is good but salads; coleslaw and potato salad are made with WAY to much mayonnaise. Tarter doesn't have enough dill relish either. Although most restaurants unfortunately don't know how to make tarter very good. Fish is good I'd upgrade to lettuce salad and cooked vegetables. Lastly there shrimp dinner is usually my go to dinner. It's hand dipped in batter and fried ( you can get it grilled) I get there homemade garlic mashed and salad. They also included fresh steamed vegetables. Waitress was really good and friendly. read more

This is a step up from your typical bar and grill. Menu has a bit of an old school supper club feel to it. Staff seem experienced and well-trained. Everyone was working hard. Cozy feel to the bar seating area, but the ambiance in the separate dining room is a bit lacking. Thankfully, it offers extra seating space on a busy weekend night. I'm somewhere between 3-4 stars. Overall, pretty decent casual dining. read more

This place is warm, cozy and the food is delicious. Don't let the iceberg lettuce fool you. They use butter and salt to a perfect degree. The steak salad and low carb burger (with veggies) were both delicious. So glad to find a place that has good food, with no pretensions. read more

I wasn't expecting much from an $11 steak sandwich, carry out, on fish fry night but it was Excellent.

Thursday night is the night to go. They serve broasted chicken... ALL YOU CAN EAT!!! It is just amazing! Very crispy skin and super juicy. Get as many helpings as you like. Service is outstanding. The bartender Tim is another reason I come all time. He's only there on Thursdays. Tim and chicken...what more could anyone ask for?! read more

Love this place. Good is always exceptional and service is superb. Mary takes great care of her customers. Can't wait to go back.

Todd's is a friendly neighborhood bar & grill with some of the better food in the area. The decor is a bit dated and could use a refresh but they've got a long bar and a number of booths when you walk in and then another 2 rooms with tables if you prefer not to eat in the bar area. The Friday fish fry is recommended and comes with potato pancakes, cole slaw, and all the fixings plus the Saturday night prime rib is usually great. Todd's soups of the day are also excellent (although the French Onion isn't my favorite anymore) and you'll enjoy the schnitzel and typical German specialties that you would expect in Wisconsin as well as fried appetizers, burgers, steaks, etc. There are a few bottles of okay larger production wines although virtually all patrons go for beer and mixed drinks. The service can be irregular but you will likely find very good bar food and a friendly atmosphere at Todd's, especially if sitting at the bar. read more

Ordered take out. Excellent walleye but didn't get baked potato ordered and got French onion soup instead of clam chowder. I should have checked first I guess! read more

Great service. Good fish fry and baked cod. Good old fashions. Was able to make reservation on Friday night and did not need to wait.

Haystack Onion Rings were better than most Burger was good but needed a little more seasoning. (Good if you wanted less salt) Pork Schnitzel was cooked well. Would have liked it better w/o the lemon pepper. Liked the plain part with a squeeze of the fresh lemon. read more

What a great meal served by the vivacious Mary! Our food was delicious! My husband loved a Wednesday night fish fry! My pan seared pork chop was done to perfection! Todd the owner stopped by to chat! We will be back! read more

For lunch, had a grill burger with all the fixings. Cooked to order with crisp bacon, a tasty amount of cheese, and fried onions. Added the onion rings for an additional $2. The rings are thin and closer to onion straws but full of flavor and a heaping portion. Service was friendly and excellent. read more

Stopped at Todds tonight for a traditional Friday fishfry. Started with a quick few drinks at the bar. Great crowd of friendly regulars. Reasonable drink prices combined with great drinks. Wife and I sat at a booth in the bar, very comfortable. We have eaten at Todds many times and always find great food, tonight was no exception. Service was great, fast and friendly. Fish was cooked perfectly, I had cod tonight but the perch is always great as well. Wife had the fried chicken which is never a great idea on Friday in Wisconsin because often it tastes like fish. Not a problem here, chicken was great as well. Finished with a after dinner drink. Overall fantastic experience, stop by Todd's if you are in the area read more

The best fish fry with a value price and the very best potato pancakes. You've got to try it! The wait staff is memorable and friendly. Nice old school feel. read more

Maybe it was because we dropped in fairly early (before noon) but the food was terrible. I had the Shrimp Po'Boy...four (4) small breaded shrimp (think frozen) on a roll with an overly salty mayonnaise spread. That's all there was to it. For the price of the dish, I would have expected fresh sauteed shrimp or maybe a salad on the side...disappointed. The cocktails were fair but the waitress was also the bartender so the service to our table (about 10 feet from the bar) was spotty at best. We won't be back. read more

The service was fantastic. Bartender was friendly and attentive, took our orders right away. The food came out promptly. The decor was old world wisconsin, which I like. But the food was... Terrible. The ribeye was pretty much raw in the middle with no seasoning. The chicken wrap tasted off and had nasty chunks of chicken in it. It was barely edible. The veggies were mush. However the French fries were fantastic. The place has a real charm but the food made us nauseous. read more

Friday fish fry is great! We haven't had a bad meal here. The bar area is very welcoming and friendly. Great for an after work cocktail!

Outstanding service. The food never disappoints, always done perfectly! Homemade soups every day too!

The terrific bartender is also the food server--in a separate dining room-- and perhaps the cook as well. A "shrimp hoagie" with 3 whole shrimp does not one make! Wife LOVED the clam chowder. Kinda bland dining room compared to the bar. read more

Great food. We enjoyed the duck tenders, the walleye meal, onion soup and clam chowder. All were fantastic. Definitely will go back.

Awesome burger. Todd is a good man and a good cook/business owner. The specials are also very good and the drinks are a good value.

Had the shrimp and my wife had the club salad both were excellent. Good casual place to eat.

Might be the worse fish fry I have had. On top of that the beer tasted like they have not cleaned their lines in years. Had a Fat Tire that tasted very odd. So I went to a Miller Lite and it had the same dirty line taste. read more

Went here with my family on a weekday evening. Never been to Todd's before. Food was 3 stars, service was 2 stars. Why 2? Wait person forgot things and served the wrong side order. And overall everything seemed to take too long ... the small dining area was far from full by the way. Bar was quite full. Mainly an older crowd of 55+ year old regulars. read more

Oconomowoc needs some decent places to eat, as residents- we've been to them all... this was our first time here. We ate outside (mainly because the insides smells like old people... not good) but there was a cute patio. We had the Duck Strips, which looked scary but were actually delicious. We also had kids tenders-(my 10yr old rated them a 3.5...haha) but they looked good. My husband and I shared the Steak and Swiss Flatbread- (5 STARS! Seriously so good...tons of steak- perfectly cooked!) and the Perch. Perch was good- light, pan fried- would do it again. Overall, service was excellent and this place is underrated, definitely worth a try. Presentation not so great, but the food was excellent. We will be back. read more

Lived in Oconomowoc for a while now and have had fish at a few other places. Though we'd try Todds since we've been talking about doing it for a while. My wife and I both got the cods, she got baked and I got the fried. The fish was pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either. The portions weren't overwhelming, so if you're looking for a lot of fish for 11 dollars, look elsewhere. I got the fries with my fish and they were so overcooked they were horribly crunchy. Overall the fish was ok, the fries were terrible and my wives potato pancakes were pretty good. All in all for the price, I think you can probably get a better fish fry somewhere else in town. read more
