Friday Fish Fry. I'm going with the Perch dinner.
Kevin B.

First off, we dine here often. Our family members, friends dine here. I estimate I've spent well over $1500 here in the past 20+ yrs. Here is my feedback: Food 4.5 stars Service 2 stars, forgot things, cranky attitude, we asked for more potato salad, cole slaw, bread and we got push back. Just say, "yes, be right back." Ambiance 2 stars, I dislike walking through the little cashier/ waitress space to sit down at my table. Shut down re-model that space, re-open. Maybe move the bathrooms away from the kitchen. Overall 3 stars, not the best customer experience.

Meatball appetizer with fries and a breaded mushroom appetizer
Taylor C.

I ordered the meatball appetizer with my meal and ended up sick merely two hours later, if that. Don't get me wrong, service was friendly; but a colleague of mine was unimpressed by her meal also. I think it was a bit pricy for what I was served. Would not return. I even came out of town. Maybe the meat was spoiled‍, but overall -- very unimpressed.

Cozy bar.
Catherine K.

This place is warm, cozy and the food is delicious. Don't let the iceberg lettuce fool you. They use butter and salt to a perfect degree. The steak salad and low carb burger (with veggies) were both delicious. So glad to find a place that has good food, with no pretensions.

A great choice if you are craving Italian food with a nice ambiance. As mentioned by other…read morereviewers, it can get crowded and reservations are definitely a better idea then chancing a walk-in. All of the servers that we have ever had here have been really, really nice as well as well informed as to the menu. The lasagna here is PHENOMENAL!! My wife and I usually order different dishes so that we can try new things, but here we always both order the lasagna. A typical night for us looks like an order of the bruschetta as an app, two lasagna entrees...and maybe a few vodka sodas and captain and diets to wash things down :) I have also tried the pizza a few times, and it is good...but the heart in my stomach is in love with the lasagna.

We tried a cranberry and apple salad with scallops. The scallops were the best part. The beer list was more interesting than the wine list, but they did have several wines available by the glass. 4/5 Service: Both the bartender and Andrea our server were very attentive 4.5/5 Ambience: huge parking lot surrounding the restaurant. There was apparently a birthday party for a six-year-old with some very wild children running about. Once they left, the place was much more pleasant. 3.5/5

They also have different specialty cocktails throughout the year. -Cheese curds...I know, it's Wisconsin, but these are right up there with the elite. Cons: -I'll let you know when I find some. We've been to Crafty Cow several times over the last year, probably four or five times, and we've always been impressed by how friendly the waitstaff and bar staff are. The owner is also very nice and clearly involved, which I think is cool. I almost always order the same thing: the chicken strip meal, which comes with three huge strips and a large side of fries. The chicken here is really interesting because it's marinated in pickle brine. You can definitely taste the brine, and it adds something you didn't even realize was missing. My wife used to order the same thing, but now she tries something different each time because she knows she can share my strips. Everything she has tried has been good. Also worth mentioning: they have really good ranch dressing. I was surprised when I looked up Crafty Cow on Yelp and saw that it had less than four stars. Looking at some of the older reviews, I'm guessing it may have had a bit of a rocky start. But based on our experiences, Crafty Cow has been consistently great, and we'll definitely keep coming back.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Working with clients in Oconomowoc, I…read morerecently lunched at Crafty Cow Burgers & Fried Chicken; we had a terrific experience! The interior decor is very 'pub' like with expanses of dark wood and many art prints/framed works on the walls; there is a large bar in the front area with several tables/high-tops. In the back, the aesthetic is more 'industrial' with exposed brickwork and beams. We were greeted by the bartender (?) and seated immediately; our waitress brought us menus, reviewed the specials with us, and then brought our drinks. Crafty Cow specialises in 'craft' sodas and I enjoyed a very nice diet 'cola' drink with lemon; it was delicious. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the 'Nashville Hot' seasoning (because, hello, Nashville Hot) and it arrived piping hot with lots of shoe-string fries, also piping hot. The flavours were absolutely wonderful, full of contrast and balance. The 'heat' from the chicken was excellent; the chicken was plump and juicy, and had been perfectly breaded and fried. The slaw was also excellent: just the right balance of sweet and crunchy to offset the hot chicken. My clients and I enjoyed our visit to Crafty Cow Burgers & Fried Chicken and plan to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Pros: -Huge menu…read more-Good, consistent food -Servers have always been nice -Quick seating when not a special day (Mother's/Father's Day/etc.) Cons: -Crowded on special days There are a few things on this menu that have never let me down (knock on wood) and they are: Turkey Avocado BLT - the homemade focaccia hoagie brings this home in a big way! Great Morning Wrap - always has the right ratio of ingredients so you get a little of everything in each bite. PRO TIP: ask for an extra side of the chipotle mayo. Other things that we have tried and enjoyed: Chicken Dumpling Soup -- always recommended by those who have tried it. Steak and Eggs - good portion for the price and well seasoned. Eggs Benedict - really rich hollandaise sauce, and the fresh arugala balances well against that richness. This is one of my wife's favs. Biscuits & Gravy - this definitely ranges, better sometimes vs. others, but that range is great (4.5*) to good (3.5*). It just depends on the day that you go I have probably eaten at Maxim's 12-15 times and have never had an unsatisfying experience. I am sure that they will treat you right too!

We ordered a few different things for lunch. The French onion soup was very salty, but the brisket sandwich that they had on the menu was amazing. The brisket was like butter. I had a large Cobb salad, which some of the things in it tasted very chemical like. The lettuce and the cucumbers, especially had some strange chemical taste. Slightly acidic. I can't put my finger on it. I would not recommend. All in all, if you're looking for a place for brunch while you're in Oconomowoc, you might wanna stop in here just for an experience once. I don't know that we will be back, but you never know. I will say there is a large variety across three menus. So somebody should be able to find something that they like.

The place is veteran owned and has a military flare to the decor. For our area, this is welcome and we have nothing like it. They also frequently have live music, and I do love me some live music. The service has been great both time I was there. I sat at the bar the first time and a table the second...just to make sure the service was great in both locations! Of course bar service is always faster because you are right in front of them, but I will say I did not have to wait at any point to sit, order, or pay. They were friendly and genuinely wanted to make sure everything tasted as good as it looked. When I go to places that run specials I am voted less likely to order off the menu and I have stuck with that philosophy with SteelTank. The first time I had a steak and shrimp pasta. It was so good I could not stop eating it. I ate nearly all of it and had zero regrets, but I was happy I had a few bites left to enjoy the next day. Second stop, Sausage & Pepperoni stuffed Bavarian pretzel. This pizza of the week is delicious! The pretzel is cut in half and stuffed and not hollowed out as most places do. You can see from the pictures it is stuffed and you can taste the pizza. Greens with a pizza you say? YES! So good, the vinaigrette dressing that is on that pretty little salad is making my mouth water as I type! Specials were not mentioned either time I went. The specials are posted on Facebook and that is how I knew about SteelTank and what I should order. That would be my only complaint, when you receive a menu patrons should be told what the specials are - or - post it somewhere so people know.

Place is closed. Will they ever reopen? Too bad it was a local place we enjoyed. Sunday night pizza…read more& beer special, the concerts at Rally Point, three cheese appetizer....miss it.
