Mapo tofu dumplings - AMAZING!!!
Chandrika R.

This was one of my favorite meals in Atlanta! I got there just before 5pm on a Sunday in July and there was a line when they opened the doors. I ordered most of the menu bc everything looked really good, and it did NOT disappoint! Those dumplings are flavor bombs, and the fish was super crispy despite being in a broth. The crispy rice salad was hard to stop eating when I was there, but wasn't very good reheated as leftovers so FINISH IT! The cocktails were nice and boozy. The cheesecake was tasty and was labeled as instant. I definitely will be back! The staff were all super friendly and clearly liked working together. It very much felt like a family business.

Cool pop-up restaurante at Ok Yaki, cool vibes and great service. The food was good. The chicken soup was delicious and I would go back to try more items on the menu.

I love So So Fed. Every dish is crafted so wonderfully. This is my third time coming to this pop-up and I wish I had the disposable income to come every Sunday and Monday. This pop-up is located inside of OK YAKI on Moreland Ave, almost every Sunday and Monday afternoon. Let's get into the food. The menu rotates and I usually come when there are at least 3 things I really wanna try on the menu. I had to try their take on oysters and their mignonette sauces. The jeow sam with the oysters was chefs kiss. It was spicy, flavorful and a tad acidic but the cucumber mignonette was super vinegary and bright. The peanut noodles reminded me of a West African peanut/peanut butter stew. Very rich in flavor and the chili oil made it have that spice flavor but was not actually spicy (unless you have the palate of an infant). It had a slight crunch (I assume from peanuts) but not enough to make me dislike the texture. Peanut texture is not for me and don't love it as a topping but it being finely chopped and mixed into the sauce was perfect. I was going to end with the red bean milkshake but I had to try one more thing and ended up getting the Lao pork sausage just to try. Excellent choice, it was so tasty and had the perfect amount of char. The blistered peppers it was served with, paired perfectly with the sausage and was not spicy. They were also charred with a little salt. The red bean milkshake was not too sweet (which is a classic in Asian desserts). Red bean is not my favorite flavor and it was a nice cold treat that I'd love the share with a friend. I love watching the chefs and sous chefs while they are cooking and the servers are always very chill and friendly. Can't wait to come back yet again.

A pop up restaurant in OK Yaki on Sunday and Monday nites. Where else are you going to go for Laotian food on the east side of Atlanta? Sure there is snackboxw bistro, but I'm not driving 30 minutes away. Laotian food is very Thai adjacent and shares the same dishes, where it differs to me is the focus on lime and cilantro flavors and salads. It's a very refreshing and easy to eat meal. The menu is somewhat limited menu. They didn't have any Laap, but the crispy rice is similar. The crispy rice is so amazing, it's addictive and downright delicious. The crunchy with the taste of lime and meat is out of this world. I would go back just for this dish. The Laad Na was solid. The noodles were down right delicious, and they did it right with dark meat. I love a papaya salad, and this was one of my least favorite ones, very fish sauce forward and I don't think the papayas were ripe enough. Maybe if the papaya was right it wouldn't have been so fish sauce forward. This is also a Thai fish staple as well. We sat at the bar and it was a treat to watch the staff cook all the meals. It felt like one of those Japanese places you see in film with a large bar where you see the cooks at work. A smaller more industrial aesthetic feel than a waffle house. Service was great and the drinks were solid. I kind of hate giving this a 4 star and I could see myself coming back for a 5 star. Seriously where else does quality Laotian food? It just had two misses on the limited menu and the papaya salad. Bottom line, you should go. Perfect for a date nite or to share amongst friends.

Chef Evan prepared the most authentic ISAAN Thai-Laos Sum Tom/Thum mak houng! We enjoyed Ribeye/pbing-seen and smoked pork belly is too delicious. Worth the wait! Enjoy the energy, fantastic music and great neighborhood vibes.

Literally the best meal I've had in months. This pop up is on Sundays and Mondays, and I will definitely be a regular. We ordered nearly the entire menu and nothing disappointed. The chips and dip were probably my least favorite, but they were still an excellent snack as we had our drinks and pondered the menu. Basically fried wonton wrappers and sweet chili sauce. The papaya salad has the perfect amount of sweetness, spice, and savory flavors. It was excellent! The sausage was the surprise dish of the evening. We were between a couple things and the server suggested the sausage, and I'm so glad he did! It was crisp on the outside and so, so flavorful! We ate it with some sticky rice, and it will be a dish we order again! The steak was perfectly cooked and served with a amazing sauce and shishito peppers. Another knock out dish. The cocktails and beer didn't disappoint either. Overall, this place will be in my regular restaurant rotation from now on.

Chicken hearts

SSF is a pop up that comes to the OK Yaki restaurant on Sunday and Mondays from 5-12am. They are first come first serve with no reservations. The restaurant is small, tucked in the corner of shopping center and seats probably ~10 tables at a time. To be honest, it was underwhelming. The food was fine but I was not impressed at all, especially for the price. Our favorite item out of the 3 were the chicken heart; the sauce went really well with it. The fried tofu we had was not very flavorful at all. Everything was just "ok" and their menu was very limited. We arrived around 730/8pm and they already ran out of their staple items, which was the meatballs that night. I find it pretty unacceptable that a restaurant would not make enough portions to at least last half the duration that they are open for, bad planning if you ask me. We may give it another try when we see an enticing menu next time, but probably won't be returning for the same items.

So So Fed's papaya salad lives rent free in my mind. I started as a regular customer and loved this place so much I asked to work here. Highly recommend! Best time to come is earlier in the evening.

I came with a friend around 7pm on a Saturday and the place wasn't too crowded. We were seated immediately. They have both inside and outdoor patio tables. The vibe was chill with music playing at a decent volume, but over the next hour the place got very crowded and the music got louder. By 9pm, the place was quite packed and we were politely asked to close out to give our table to others waiting in line. I was very surprised by the cocktails - in a good way. I was pretty hesitant looking at the cocktail menu because most of the drinks had at least one ingredient that I don't like. However, the drinks were fantastic. I got the Hot in the Shade and my friend got the Fast Idol, which were both delicious. I don't even like gin and yet my drink, which has both gin and vodka, were outstanding. I will definitely be back! It's a great spot for a chill hangout cocktail bar but definitely get there before 7:30 if you want a table.

I never write reviews, yet here we are. I wish a server or mgmt would have come to us so i didnt have to come here, but it was the opposite. Girl, i wanted to like this place so bad. The wine list is excellent, they have some good skin contact wines and most of the list is dry which i appreciate. What's a huge bummer is the food and service. The place was not busy, just for context. Our 5 top ordered about 4 appetizers- the brussels were actually shareable, however the okra, salmon dip, and hummus were ramekin sized. Legit 1 ounce portions. Thats chill, i thought, we're all gonna order mains, whatever. Uhhhh, our three friends got their skewers (which they said were fine) but by the time our server came back around to ask if "everything was good" homies were finished with their dinner and my husband and i were still waiting on ours. When i let the server know that, he kindly said "ohhh okay, i can take that off your bill"?! Like honey, we never GOT IT and we got places to be. Thanks? We awkwardly wait a while finishing our drinks and wait for the bill, they drop a cookie off at the table, make no apology or eye contact, and say "its on the house". Phew, thank you so much, I dont eat cookies bro, i ordered a burger and okra. I understand that mistakes happen completely, but the way it was handled was totally embarrassing. Then we never encountered another server again, we figured out how to pay the bill through the QR Code plastered to the table. I haven't experienced such a disappointing dining experience in a minute so that was interesting!

I've visited countless times, often multiple times a week, with friends, family, and colleagues. We consistently ordered generously and tipped well. Unfortunately, a recent experience has led my husband and I to decide we will no longer spend another dollar here, personally or for business. While sitting on the bar side, minding my own business, I was repeatedly harassed by a visibly intoxicated woman who deliberately sat next to me to start trouble. She stared at me continuously, and made unsolicited, offensive assumptions about my marriage. My husband was sitting to my left, completely unaware of what was transpiring as he was listening to some music through his Meta glasses. I initially ignored the woman's behavior and tried to laugh it off because I simply came to eat in peace. However, the situation escalated when she began directing inappropriate questions toward my husband and attempting to provoke him. Despite her continued escalation, other patrons jumped in to defend her and one even threatened my husband, portraying her as the victim. When we attempted to explain the situation to Jason (who I believe is the bar manager), rather than hearing us out, we were told the police were being called on us. We were not the aggressors and did nothing wrong. It was deeply frustrating to be dismissed and treated as though we were at fault when we were only defending ourselves. What makes this experience especially upsetting is that we have always been respectful, trouble-free patrons for 13 years! The bar staff that evening was dismissive and, at times, rude. There was no apparent effort to address how this intoxicated individual was disrupting the environment, continuing to insult my husband, and repeatedly putting her hand in his face to provoke him. To my knowledge, she was never asked to leave nor threatened with police involvement. She left only when she chose to. Only the server who brought out our food showed any level of concern or professionalism. The bartenders and another staff member in the back (a bald person, don't know their role) made it clear we were not welcome and ultimately called the police. We are owed an apology. While I don't expect one, I'm leaving this review to warn other customers (especially people of color) to be mindful of how quickly a place you've supported for years can turn on you and how we're quickly seen as the problem just because we get loud when we've been disrespected. I would strongly advise going to another place in the neighborhood like The Beverly if you want to avoid situations like the one we experienced. After more than a decade of loyal support, we understand the value we bring as customers and as people. Respect should never be conditional or situational. When a business fails to protect that basic standard, it's our responsibility to set boundaries and take our patronage where it's valued.
