Came here for a late lunch. Location is in downtown area of Closter, with street parking. They had a special, buy 2 BBQ entrees get 1 free. We ordered, bulgogi, galbi, and thin brisket. All were good, but the bulgogi really stood out. Nice marination gave the bulgogi a nice tender all around flavor; a little sweetness, a mild spice, right amount of saltiness and mellow ginger. One thing they do that many Korean BBQ places don't do is they also put some lumped charcoal in the grill for that slight smokey taste to your food. We were craving Korean bbq and we glad we found this place! I wish it was closer to where I live! We can at 2.30 on a Saturday, so pretty late but we were warmly welcomed by the staff! The place looks new and is quite stylish (and doesn't smell of overcooked meat or grease!). Meat was great and they offer a good variety of side dishes! I just wish they had a 'degustation platter of your choice' for 2 as you can try more than 2or3 different meats when you're just 2. I waked in this place cause I was in the area and Korean BBQ sounded good for lunch. The place over all looks great in terms of decor. I asked the first person if they had any lunch specials and he explained how there was a 2-1 deal where you can order two meats and get one free. I sat down and got the menu but I was so confused on what was going on so I asked my server. My server was nice but I had a really hard time understanding what she was saying. Out of hunger and confusion I asked for the 2-1 deal and I ordered a prime rib and one more item and chose the bulgogi as the free item. In my mind I though this was a lunch thing and it would be a smaller dish rather than the normal group style meat. I was wrong. She brought out two plates of meat and I was like I would only like one and explained that I was confused by the menu and what she had explained. I had to wait for the main sever who understood me, so I ordered the bulgogi. The side dishes were delicious like the kimchi, bra sprouts, etc. The bulgogi was in my own words "meh", which just means I'll accept it but I've had better. I ended up spending about $40 which I wasn't planning on , but hey I guess that happens when you try a new place and you kind of have no idea what's going on. So that's on me. Hopefully they will get better since they just opened, but as a lunch place I suggest going with a group to get the bang for your buck. read more

I used to love this restaurant but was very disappointed during my most recent visit. I ordered Osam Bokeum, which was the marinated squid and pork. It came out so bland and thus the waitress brought the pot back to the kitchen to add more soy sauce. Unfortunately, it did not taste good at all. While I hate the name, So Good is actually so good! To start, they had a really wide assortment of banchan and you can always ask for refills. I highly recommend the seafood pancake as an appetizer. There's a handful of vegetarian options available for entrees, like soondubu, bibimbap, japchae, and more (but really why are you going to kbbq if you are vegetarian...?) On Monday-Thursday, they have a 2+1 deal on the meats that you can't beat elsewhere! It was a really fresh selection of meats and they come around often to cook it for you and change out the grill plate. They also use charcoal in the grill which gives a nice smoked flavor instead of using gasoline. I've never seen this elsewhere but for dessert they give you a marshmallow on a stick so you can roast it on the fire, how cute! read more

Finally tried the restaurant. The menu is very limited, but the BBQ meat (bulgogi and kalbi) is fresh, flavorful and tender. The chap Jae was pretty good. Dumplings were just ok. The portions are averaged sized. Service is good. Good option for local eats! Saw the new restaurant had opened. We walked in at 6:30pm on Sunday. Hostess asked if we had reservations, we did not. She said they were fully booked. Meanwhile there were 2 tables of people dining in. Didn't even offer us a menu or tell us to come back for another visit! I am sorry to write this review because I was so excited to eat here. I have eaten Korean BBQ in Palisades Park and NYC and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our order was fine but the waitress seemed very rushed. We sat down at 6:45 and the place was empty. Our food came out and she immediately started grilling the meat.... she started the second batch and I asked her to slow down. I like the onions grilled, had to ask for garlic, jalapeños, and lettuce leaves. She started the second batch but none of the other veggies were grilled yet. It was disappointing because I brought my family for the first time and it was not until the third batch of meat was cooked that all sides, and toppings were ready as well. It was not until then that you had the authentic flavor I was looking for. Totally rushed, did not offer assistance with ordering. I think next time I will head to Fort Lee or Palisades Park for a more authentic experience and taste. read more
