The Gganpoong jumbo shrimps were fried well and spicy sweet sauce was tasted but sauces should have coated the shrimps more. The pork tangsooyook were fried well but did not like the taste of the sauce. The jjamppong soup tasted good but the green noodles were overcooked. Wanted to venture out for authentic Korean food, and this place did not disappoint. Came in late, an hour before closing, and was happily accommodated. Had the spicy sizzling octopus, Korean rice dish in a hot stone bowl, and the stir-fried beef (breaded). Barely 30 minutes into lunch service, so we expected to see one or two groups of diners at most. Instead, we walked into a bustling room chockfull of people, some of whom had yet to order, apparently. There was one front-of-house staff literally hopping and running around the room taking and bringing out orders, so after what felt like 20 minutes, we were seated and so the 5-star experience began. - Jajang with green noodles: possibly one of the best we've had EVER. The smoky flavour of the onions, sleek, warm, tender noodles, and the odd zucchini and pork all made for a knockout bowl of jajang. 5/5 - Sweet and sour pork: tender chunky pork with light batter, sticky sauce with an apple curry tinge, and a colourful mix of veggies. My only wish is for a bit more of those crunchy fresh veggies. 4.5/5 The staff is forgiven for not checking on us once, and the place otherwise seemed to be run like a well-oiled machine. The food is okay. Just average and nothing to write home about. We ordered jjamppong and the seafood iron plate jjajang. To our taste, jjamppong was spicy and salty. I thought the jjajang was on the sweet and greasy side, and while my brother agreed with me, he said he also caught a weird spicy flavor in his first bite. Radish kimchi was absolutely the worst with a weird petroleum? acetone? type of taste and scent. No one else ate it after my experience. We ordered delivery from here using Uber Eats because we wanted to take advantage of a deal and it was the only Korean Chinese that was available, but it's definitely not worth paying full price. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Restaurant was clean and our entrees were solid. Banchan was disappointing. Usually, it's fun to have a larger variety. They only gave radish and onions with a dip, kimchi and broccoli with some gochujang. The service was also a bit uneven. The hostess was very friendly. The gentleman taking our order was tolerable and we never got the ice water we requested. They did provide hot barley tea which they just bring out, never asking if we had a preference. Great Northern Jersey alternative to going down to Fort Lee or Pal Park. The jjambbong broth is rich and warmed my soul with its seafood flavor. The samseon jjambbong came with a large whole shrimp, some smaller peeled shrimps, crab legs, mussels, squid, and a palm-sized baby octopus! We also ordered the tangsooyook and the ganjjajang noodles. The ganjjajang was rich and deeply savory. The portions are here hearty and large. We came in on a Sunday evening around 5pm and we did wait quite a while for our noodle dishes, but the restaurant was full and they had plenty of people in and out for take out orders as well. I LOVE this restaurant! Great ambiance, amazing staff and delicious food. They have an diverse flare of Korean inspired Chinese dishes and what a great combination all of their dishes are. This time I ordered their Spicy shrimp with stir fried vegetables, which also came with a side of soup. I will say, the dish traditionally comes with peanuts but since I am allergic, they customized my order. The shrimp were a great size and the flavors of the dish had me wanting more! Looove their jjajangmyun. They're always generous with the portions and everything is so tasty. It's hard to find Korean-Chinese restaurants with jjajangmyun and jjamppong you get in Korea (iykyk) but this is one of the very few places in Bergen that I approve of, personally! read more

I had lunch here with my mom recently. We were very disappointed and left the restaurant upset. The jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), jjampong (seafood noodle), and tangsooyook were all terrible. Never have I had such bad tasting food. It wasn't even cheap and we just felt full and dissatisfied with our experience here. The noodles were not hot just warm and there were only onions in the jjampong broth, not even seafood. The tangsooyook that was drenched in sauce was soggy. I have never had freshly made jjajangmyeon, only the instant variety, but I've seen so many videos online and TV shows that have glorified this noodle dish to celebrity status. I've had the original inspiration, the Chinese zhajiangmian, which is fundamentally different from the Korean-Chinese jjajangmyeon, and thus doesn't count! I told Mikaela of my plight and she took me here to try it for myself. For good measure, we also ordered tangsuyuk, sweet & sour crispy pork, which came with the eponymous sweet and sour sauce in a separate dish, allowing us to control how the crispy pork would be sauced. We opted to pour the sauce over some of the pork, and then allow the rest to be dipped to our delight. Our jjajangmyeon came and was big! Our noodles were green which is super cool! It was a lot of food between the two of us, and I could barely finish my jjajangmyeon. We took the tangsuyuk to go but the lady suggested we not pour sauce over it because it would get too soggy by the time we got home. No sauce. I was satisfied knowing I got to try non-instant jjajangmyeon. The flavor was nice, nothing too extreme, though it got a bit much trying to finish it all. Got DoorDash from Ewha Won for lunch today and I was happy with the food. We ordered a Chili Jajang Myeon. Jabchae Rice with Chili, and a Samsun Ul Myeon. I particularly liked the Jajang Myeon and Samsun Ul Myeon. I appreciate the way the food was packed because they separated the noodles from the fillings, which allowed the noodles to retain its texture and not become soggy. Everything tasted good and fresh. Portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable. Will definitely return and try some of their other offerings next time. read more

Family has been coming here for years for jjajjangmyun and jjambbong, definitely one of the best ones in the area. Since reopening during covid, they have outdoor dining with about 6-7 tables, well spaced out. However gets real windy outside because of the area between the buildings. The inside is also well spaced out between the different dining tables. Black Bean Paste Noodles Jjajjangmyun My dad always gets the one with seafood and where the black bean sauce comes out separate from the noodles. "Gan" jjajjang. The normal black bean paste noodles usually just come with onions and pieces of beef with the sauce. Although it's $2 more expensive, I would say to try it if you can, it has a lot more flavor. They didn't have it when I recently went because they ran out but definitely would recommend if they do have! Also you can get different sizes if you want Jjambbong This is a spicy soup base with noodles and lots of seafood. The regular one has a decent amount of seafood so never felt the need to order the one with extra seafood. It's a nice complement to the black bean paste noodles Pork Tang Sooyook Pick this if you're looking for an appetizer before your noodle dishes. You can also get it as beef instead of pork if you prefer. It's nice and crispy but make sure to ask for the sauce on the side so they don't get soggy and if you have leftovers you can take them home without them falling apart because of the sogginess. What this place does well is a big o plate of sweet and sour pork or beef and the bowls of black bean pasta. The portions are huge. The pasta are green I'm not sure what makes it green but it doesn't taste any different from other Asian noodles (bland). My gf always recommend the black bean sauce 'fried'. The black sauce is very mild and heating it up in oil makes it more flavorful. To me it tastes the same with extra calories. But, my gf always order the spicy red seafood soup. It has the dried red chilis and the small fresh green peppers that wakes me up at 4am for emergency 10 yard dash. The combo of sweet sour pork, spicy seafood soup , and black pasta is one of the best dinner I've shared with my gf and her family. I visited sunday lunch. There were so many customer and long line. We order four dishes with one main dish(Tang su yuk). Taste was still good but the thing was customer care. After we order foods, they miss out two dishes. They didn't bring the food(jjampong). And we asked for that, server said we miss it. Finally we cancel it and go out.
