    Jajang noodles

Barely 30 minutes into lunch service, so we expected to see one or two groups of diners at most. Instead, we walked into a bustling room chockfull of people, some of whom had yet to order, apparently. There was one front-of-house staff literally hopping and running around the room taking and bringing out orders, so after what felt like 20 minutes, we were seated and so the 5-star experience began. - Jajang with green noodles: possibly one of the best we've had EVER. The smoky flavour of the onions, sleek, warm, tender noodles, and the odd zucchini and pork all made for a knockout bowl of jajang. 5/5 - Sweet and sour pork: tender chunky pork with light batter, sticky sauce with an apple curry tinge, and a colourful mix of veggies. My only wish is for a bit more of those crunchy fresh veggies. 4.5/5 The staff is forgiven for not checking on us once, and the place otherwise seemed to be run like a well-oiled machine. It seems also that you could pay at the register or have the staff bring three cheque to the table. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

The food is okay. Just average and nothing to write home about. We ordered jjamppong and the seafood iron plate jjajang. To our taste, jjamppong was spicy and salty. I thought the jjajang was on the sweet and greasy side, and while my brother agreed with me, he said he also caught a weird spicy flavor in his first bite. Radish kimchi was absolutely the worst with a weird petroleum? acetone? type of taste and scent. No one else ate it after my experience. We ordered delivery from here using Uber Eats because we wanted to take advantage of a deal and it was the only Korean Chinese that was available, but it's definitely not worth paying full price. If you have the time to spare, it's better to check out better options further south in Bergen County.

4% off your bill if you pay in cash. I enjoyed the fried dumplings as an appetizer. Everything tastes better fried and this was perfectly crunchy and airy. The stir fried vegetables with tofu, while ordinary, was still better than my expectations. I'm a fan of tofu and this one is fried and goes with the theme that anything fried is good. Onto the entrees and we got more fried things. I e ordered kkanpungi and I had better elsewhere. The sauce flavor was a tad too sweet. Jjangmyeon with the green noodles was good but I would give the edge to the brisket jampong.

I LOVE this restaurant! Great ambiance, amazing staff and delicious food. They have an diverse flare of Korean inspired Chinese dishes and what a great combination all of their dishes are. This time I ordered their Spicy shrimp with stir fried vegetables, which also came with a side of soup. I will say, the dish traditionally comes with peanuts but since I am allergic, they customized my order. The shrimp were a great size and the flavors of the dish had me wanting more! A little on the spicy side so next time I know to ask for less or no spice. Overall, amazing restaurant!

Looove their jjajangmyun. They're always generous with the portions and everything is so tasty. It's hard to find Korean-Chinese restaurants with jjajangmyun and jjamppong you get in Korea (iykyk) but this is one of the very few places in Bergen that I approve of, personally!

Overall, I'm going to say... no but okay? The jajangmyun is definitely NOT the best here. There was almost a burnt flavor for the fried jajangmyun... it was weird lol. The japjae bab is good if you want something less oily, but still, of course nothing is healthy here. The one with spicy peppers is okay but there is not enough protein at all; probably like three pieces of small beef. I was not happy. The tansuyook is meh; almost had a heart attack watching my sister drink the sugar sauce. The jampong is better than jajangmyun and you will not find any healthier options here. Price is ok, but I would not come back at all unless I was forced to. Side story: I was in the bathroom and the lights turned off and I was just in the dark for a while rip

I was so excited to try Korean style Chinese food! My friends ordered several dishes to try! The was super spicy. My friends said it was abnormally spicy and they also felt pain while eating it . We also got a seafood soup which was delicious and which is like a pineapple chicken and sweet which we really needed to balance the spicy black noodles!

I have never had freshly made jjajangmyeon, only the instant variety, but I've seen so many videos online and TV shows that have glorified this noodle dish to celebrity status. I've had the original inspiration, the Chinese zhajiangmian, which is fundamentally different from the Korean-Chinese jjajangmyeon, and thus doesn't count! I told Mikaela of my plight and she took me here to try it for myself. For good measure, we also ordered tangsuyuk, sweet & sour crispy pork, which came with the eponymous sweet and sour sauce in a separate dish, allowing us to control how the crispy pork would be sauced. We opted to pour the sauce over some of the pork, and then allow the rest to be dipped to our delight. Our jjajangmyeon came and was big! Our noodles were green which is super cool! It was a lot of food between the two of us, and I could barely finish my jjajangmyeon. We took the tangsuyuk to go but the lady suggested we not pour sauce over it because it would get too soggy by the time we got home. No sauce. I was satisfied knowing I got to try non-instant jjajangmyeon. The flavor was nice, nothing too extreme, though it got a bit much trying to finish it all. I kind of wished there was a little extra kick (I don't know what kind of kick) but that's also not jjajangmyeon. I was still satisfied! Servers were all nice and service was quick!

Do not recommend jjajangmyun or jjambbong. Service is also very slow, have to ask many times for water or check.

We also had free side items like cucumber, kimchi, macaroni, mixed greens and rice. We ordered few additional items like edamame, seafood pancake, beef dumplings and japchae. Everyone loved the thin noodles of japchae. Edamame and dumplings were fine. I didn't like the pancake as it had a very dense and bland tasting dough. Overall our dining experience was decent. Our server handles the grilled fine, efficiently cooked all the meat items and spread them on two sides of the tables. She also kept refilling the side items as needed.

It's located on a corner with plenty of street parking in the area. It's a casual atmosphere with a modern and minimalistic interior design. There's seating for small and large groups. The menu items are reasonably priced and budget-friendly. I ordered the Korean Street Toast ($7.99) and Kimchi Tuna Kimbap ($7 for 10 pieces). Service was on the slower end... although the employees were friendly, it took around 20+ minutes to get my food. I appreciated that everything was freshly prepared, but I recommend ordering ahead if you're short on time. The K-Street toast included a vegetable omelette (cabbage, carrots, green onions, corn), shredded cabbage/carrots, smoked ham, and cheese. You have the option of having it sweet or unsweet. The sweetened version has a light sugar coating over the toast. I went with that and I HAVE NO REGRETS - the bread was soft and buttery with a crispy exterior. The sandwich had the perfect blend of different flavors and textures - crunchy, creamy, savory, sweet. The portion size was filling for a light meal. The kimbap roll included kimchi, tuna, radish, carrot, spinach, burdock, and seasoned rice wrapped in dried seaweed. The ingredients are most definitely fresh and their flavors blended really well together - you can tell after just one bite! I recommend this roll if you like tuna salad. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Very flavorful but I felt like it was thicker and more doughy than I prefer. I would probably skip this for the next visit. The beef soup was delicious as well. It was just the right temperature and it was salty and savory enough without being overwhelming. We went on a particularly cold day so the hot soup really hit the spot. The pieces of beef in the soup were super tender too. Continuing the self-service theme there was a water dispenser and there was even a dispenser of broth at the pick up counter. We ordered: - 물냉면 + 목살구이 Mul Naengmyun Cold Noodle + Pork Neck BBQ $24.99: the thin noodles are super bouncy and chewy, excellent take on a summer classic! Soup and toppings hit the spot, a couple slices of beef and Asian pear, thinly slice cucumbers and pickled radish, plus half an egg. The extra side of bbq pork cheek was marinated and grilled to tender perfection. - 소고기 국밥 Spicy Guk Bap $17.99: lightly spicy beef broth with bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of beef, served over rice. Warm and hearty Korean comfort food on a cold day. - 사골우거지된창국 Sagol Ugeoji Doenjang Guk with Rice $18.99: this beef bone broth is seasoned with fermented bean paste, a flavor somewhat similar to miso with plenty of rehydrated dried napa cabbage. I didn't try them though they appeared to enjoy. - banchan (side dishes): about 5 or 6 small containers came with the entrees, consisting of regular napa kimchi, a couple different radish kimchis, fish cakes. The chilled kimchi was fermented goodness and went well with the hot broths, soup and rice. Would recommend!
