The service was amazing, we didn't have to wait long to be seated and for food. The food was amazing!! The entire vibe of the restaurant was great.

Table side Korean that I didn't have to go to fort Lee for - local and seems pretty authentic. Food is cooked on a hot plate in front of you. Food was good, but expensive. This is our second time there and tried the tofu/vegetarian soup this time to change it up. I love spicy so this was perfect heat level for me. Will maybe try it again to try other menu items. Reason for the 3 stars is that it gets pretty Smokey in there despite the large fans over each table, service was tough to get a hold of (but we went on New Year's Eve...so maybe they were short staffed?), and price could be better.

Was passing through and wanted kbbq for Father's Day. We arrived at around 5:30 and were seated within 15 min, because the parties before us didn't show up; you snooze, you lose. For a family of 4, we ordered the seafood pancake, beef noodles (japchae), an order of bulgogi and kalbi. The quality was really good. The japchae noodles were chewy and flavorful. The seafood pancake was very crispy and full of octopus. The kalbi was of good quality with lots of marbling, and the bulgogi was very tasty. They brought in the steam egg along with the banchan: spicy fish cakes, pickled daikon, cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, soy sprouts, and eggplant. We got seconds without asking. I did, however, had to ask for lettuce, ssamjang, garlic and peppers; they didn't serve rice, which I thought was odd. And they only give you a little squirt of sauce. It's not until they see you eating more that they give you more. Service was a bit slow as our server was managing 4 tables. All the food came out except for the coals to cook our food. This is a first for me on this side of the coast to see live coals for kbbq; most of the time, it's gas stoves. Our server helped us with cooking the meat. The space is large and not crowded. In the end, it was a good place as I was stuffed. It's a bit far to go back, but definitely I'll add it to my Google Maps list for the next time I pass through.

Must try if you like Korean BBQ or want to try for the 1st time. Wait Staff was very helpful and took care of explaining everything to us. Marinade used on the meats were really good and enhanced the flavor. This place was definitely "'So Good"

The seafood pancake was probably the best I have ever had. So thick, crunchy and loaded with seafood and scallions. Highly recommended. First time having beef and cabbage soup and it did not disappointed. So flavorful and brothy. Meat were fresh and delicious. Price was a little high but I'm assuming due to covid. You are also allowed to bring in your own drinks. Definitely a good place for kbbq!

Best kalbi in town. The ambience is relaxing and the restaurant is roomy. The service is also top notched.

The price is too high, the service attitude is general and eat Korean barbecue without lettuce.

It seems like they only really have two people on staff, so be patient! The staff is very nice and try their best. But especially if three or more tables are filled - food will take awhile to arrive. The menu has a lot of standard Korean fare - Korean pancakes, bibimbops, noodle soups (black bean noodles, jjampong, kalguksu) and stews (galbi tang, bulgogi stew). The seafood pancake has more veggies and seafood than pancake. I've had the galbi tang twice, which is also hearty and packed with a lot of goodies. Worth a trip if you happen to be wandering around the Tenafly area. We will likely be back.

And they did not disappoint - seafood pancake 5/5: amazingly crispy and packed with seafood so every bite you either get a octopus or shrimp which is delicious!! - brisket jjamppong 4.5/5: something different never had brisket style but the broth was great and garlicky. Noodles was also cooked perfectly - galbi tang 4/5: had better, the broth was did not hit the umami and seemed like it still had some impurities. Once your order is ready your number is called and you pick up your tray of food. There is signage in the restaurant indicating that they are self-serve and that you shouldn't tip. My girlfriend and I ordered beef soup and a seafood pancake. The food was prepared fairly quickly and they called our number to pick up the food from the counter. The seafood pancake was pretty good. Very flavorful but I felt like it was thicker and more doughy than I prefer. I would probably skip this for the next visit. The beef soup was delicious as well. It was just the right temperature and it was salty and savory enough without being overwhelming. We went on a particularly cold day so the hot soup really hit the spot. The pieces of beef in the soup were super tender too. Continuing the self-service theme there was a water dispenser and there was even a dispenser of broth at the pick up counter. I liked that broth even more than the broth in the beef soup. I slurped up several cups of it. I'd certainly come back.

Formerly known as Sambong as recently as 8-9 months ago when they first opened, menu-wise they've stayed fairly consistent, specializing in naengmyun (cold noodles in a chilled broth), with some stews and bbq grilled items too. On a cold winter Sunday afternoon we placed our orders around 12:40 and it was ready for pick up at 1:15pm. We ordered: - 물냉면 + 목살구이 Mul Naengmyun Cold Noodle + Pork Neck BBQ $24.99: the thin noodles are super bouncy and chewy, excellent take on a summer classic! Soup and toppings hit the spot, a couple slices of beef and Asian pear, thinly slice cucumbers and pickled radish, plus half an egg. The extra side of bbq pork cheek was marinated and grilled to tender perfection. - 소고기 국밥 Spicy Guk Bap $17.99: lightly spicy beef broth with bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of beef, served over rice. Warm and hearty Korean comfort food on a cold day. - 사골우거지된창국 Sagol Ugeoji Doenjang Guk with Rice $18.99: this beef bone broth is seasoned with fermented bean paste, a flavor somewhat similar to miso with plenty of rehydrated dried napa cabbage. A rich flavor and great over the white rice that came with it. - 돈까스 Donkatsu $19.99 and LA갈비 LA Galbi BBQ $36.99: my friends ordered these items to share with their kids. I didn't try them though they appeared to enjoy. - banchan (side dishes): about 5 or 6 small containers came with the entrees, consisting of regular napa kimchi, a couple different radish kimchis, fish cakes. The chilled kimchi was fermented goodness and went well with the hot broths, soup and rice. Would recommend!

We most recently came in on a Friday night with a 6 pm reservation. Yes, we had to flag down one of the harried but cheerful women working here to place our order. But look around - there's not a white tablecloth in sight. You may have to catch someone's eye, and there's nothing wrong with that. By 6:15 pm, half of our order was on the table, and we were gleefully chomping on fried dumplings and pillowy buns. The small but clean and modern space was packed - packed with people, but also with so much happiness. Almost everyone was smiling, laughing, and joking as they tucked into this feel-good array of comfort classics. Jajangmyun, jjampong, khan poong, gochu japchae... all of these traditional dishes sang. Even a simple plate of sauteed vegetables was delicious. And everything spent just seconds between being finished in the kitchen and sitting in front of us. Is it cheap? No, nor should it be. The ingredients are of the freshest, including the seafood. The cooking couldn't be better. And this is no grimy hole in the wall. If it were a French bistro, you'd have no problem with the prices. So pay these fine folks what they deserve, and enjoy.
