We just found this place this evening and we are super delighted to find it! Great reviews, easy parking , simple ordering and decent pricing. My hubby and I enjoy spicy dishes therefore we opted for spicy wings with regular ones /we tried the 1/2 and 1/2. (Kind of wish they offered any flavors with these half and half) apparently we can only get spicy and regular. Nonetheless, they were fabulous! We also ordered the boneless wings for our son who found them to be 'spicy' therefore he didn't enjoy them as much. Also ordered fries and cheese sticks. All were delish! I waited 45 minutes for my our order but it was well with it! The fries were still crispy when we arrived home. Please note that this at this is a take out business only. Can't wait to try them again. Not greasy, well presented. Try spicy was spicy and not messy at all! Just some great breading, portions and perfect amount of sauce. Amazingly fresh fluffy flakes on the wings. A MUST TRY!

A new bb.q Chicken location has opened in Closter and if you're a fan of Korean fried chicken, this is the place to check out. What sets this place apart from other Korean fried chicken joints in my opinion is the batter that they use. It is light, airy, and not greasy at all. When you bite into the chicken, you get the perfect crisp, and then you're hit with the moist and tender chicken meat. Because their batter is not heavy and rich, it just makes the chicken that much better. They have all the usual varieties of flavors from soy garlic to hot & spicy, and also some not so common ones as well, such as Gang-Jeong and Gangnam style. Prices are in line with other Korean fried chicken establishments and service was good. Besides chicken, they also have items like Ddeok-Bokki and fries.

Good lunch specials, a little pricier than Don Chicken but they give larger portion of fries but there is a strange taste to the coating.

The best Korean fried chicken in the northern NJ area. But it is more expensive than other chicken places.

The host arranged 2 tables for us quickly. We got the combo A (4-5people): 4 beef/steak + 1 pork shoulder. Meat quality is good. The staff cooked it for us. I wish they have a better vent system. The smoke kinda just floated around. Small dishes are provided, such as kimchi. Nice decoration inside. Bathroom is clean. The staff are friendly. A good spot for Korean BBQ.

The dining space looked nice, there were some decorations for the festive season as well. The menu had starters, side dishes, noodles, and of course the K-BBQ, both individual and sets. We ordered a first set that came with 5 different meats including pork belly, prime ribs and steaks. The meat tasted good and they were cooked fine in the grill by the staff member. We also had free side items like cucumber, kimchi, macaroni, mixed greens and rice. We ordered few additional items like edamame, seafood pancake, beef dumplings and japchae. Everyone loved the thin noodles of japchae. Edamame and dumplings were fine. I didn't like the pancake as it had a very dense and bland tasting dough. Overall our dining experience was decent. Our server handles the grilled fine, efficiently cooked all the meat items and spread them on two sides of the tables. She also kept refilling the side items as needed.

In addition to food, they offer drinks like sparkling ade, coffee, tea, smoothies, and K-yogurt. I was really excited to try their toasts and kimbap, so I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. It's located on a corner with plenty of street parking in the area. It's a casual atmosphere with a modern and minimalistic interior design. There's seating for small and large groups. The menu items are reasonably priced and budget-friendly. I ordered the Korean Street Toast ($7.99) and Kimchi Tuna Kimbap ($7 for 10 pieces). Service was on the slower end... although the employees were friendly, it took around 20+ minutes to get my food. I appreciated that everything was freshly prepared, but I recommend ordering ahead if you're short on time. The K-Street toast included a vegetable omelette (cabbage, carrots, green onions, corn), shredded cabbage/carrots, smoked ham, and cheese. You have the option of having it sweet or unsweet. The sweetened version has a light sugar coating over the toast. I went with that and I HAVE NO REGRETS - the bread was soft and buttery with a crispy exterior. The sandwich had the perfect blend of different flavors and textures - crunchy, creamy, savory, sweet. The portion size was filling for a light meal. The kimbap roll included kimchi, tuna, radish, carrot, spinach, burdock, and seasoned rice wrapped in dried seaweed. The ingredients are most definitely fresh and their flavors blended really well together - you can tell after just one bite! I recommend this roll if you like tuna salad. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Once your order is ready your number is called and you pick up your tray of food. There is signage in the restaurant indicating that they are self-serve and that you shouldn't tip. My girlfriend and I ordered beef soup and a seafood pancake. The food was prepared fairly quickly and they called our number to pick up the food from the counter. The seafood pancake was pretty good. Very flavorful but I felt like it was thicker and more doughy than I prefer. I would probably skip this for the next visit. The beef soup was delicious as well. It was just the right temperature and it was salty and savory enough without being overwhelming. We went on a particularly cold day so the hot soup really hit the spot. The pieces of beef in the soup were super tender too. Continuing the self-service theme there was a water dispenser and there was even a dispenser of broth at the pick up counter. I liked that broth even more than the broth in the beef soup. I slurped up several cups of it. I'd certainly come back.

Formerly known as Sambong as recently as 8-9 months ago when they first opened, menu-wise they've stayed fairly consistent, specializing in naengmyun (cold noodles in a chilled broth), with some stews and bbq grilled items too. On a cold winter Sunday afternoon we placed our orders around 12:40 and it was ready for pick up at 1:15pm. We ordered: - 물냉면 + 목살구이 Mul Naengmyun Cold Noodle + Pork Neck BBQ $24.99: the thin noodles are super bouncy and chewy, excellent take on a summer classic! Soup and toppings hit the spot, a couple slices of beef and Asian pear, thinly slice cucumbers and pickled radish, plus half an egg. The extra side of bbq pork cheek was marinated and grilled to tender perfection. - 소고기 국밥 Spicy Guk Bap $17.99: lightly spicy beef broth with bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of beef, served over rice. Warm and hearty Korean comfort food on a cold day. - 사골우거지된창국 Sagol Ugeoji Doenjang Guk with Rice $18.99: this beef bone broth is seasoned with fermented bean paste, a flavor somewhat similar to miso with plenty of rehydrated dried napa cabbage. A rich flavor and great over the white rice that came with it. - 돈까스 Donkatsu $19.99 and LA갈비 LA Galbi BBQ $36.99: my friends ordered these items to share with their kids. I didn't try them though they appeared to enjoy. - banchan (side dishes): about 5 or 6 small containers came with the entrees, consisting of regular napa kimchi, a couple different radish kimchis, fish cakes. The chilled kimchi was fermented goodness and went well with the hot broths, soup and rice. Would recommend!

We most recently came in on a Friday night with a 6 pm reservation. Yes, we had to flag down one of the harried but cheerful women working here to place our order. But look around - there's not a white tablecloth in sight. You may have to catch someone's eye, and there's nothing wrong with that. By 6:15 pm, half of our order was on the table, and we were gleefully chomping on fried dumplings and pillowy buns. The small but clean and modern space was packed - packed with people, but also with so much happiness. Almost everyone was smiling, laughing, and joking as they tucked into this feel-good array of comfort classics. Jajangmyun, jjampong, khan poong, gochu japchae... all of these traditional dishes sang. Even a simple plate of sauteed vegetables was delicious. And everything spent just seconds between being finished in the kitchen and sitting in front of us. Is it cheap? No, nor should it be. The ingredients are of the freshest, including the seafood. The cooking couldn't be better. And this is no grimy hole in the wall. If it were a French bistro, you'd have no problem with the prices. So pay these fine folks what they deserve, and enjoy.
