I went here for happy hour and still had an enjoyable time. Miller was $4.5, house marg $5, blue moon $5, and their Tuesday classic burger special is $10. If you want cheese, it does cost an additional, $1.50 extra. The beers here are always so crisp and the buerger/fries are tasty which makes me want to come back with their great pricing! read more

Sat outside for curbside. called and ordered chili dog and fried mushrooms. order was repeated correctly, chili and cheese only, fried mushrooms with ranch. told 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, new manager came out and collected cash, saying food would be right out. 15 minutes later I called for update, when food finally came out (total of 25 minutes). Came home, opened chili dog to find no chili, mustard, and a burned dog. Stupid me paid cash. Called and spoke with manager. Nothing. Never again. Been a customer since 1978 at the original Greenville Ave location- the one with the ghosts. Today's classic cheese burger was just a spectacular as my first one. It's in my top 3 burgers. My wife had the Frito Pie and said it was the best ever. We shared the onion rings and they were golden brown and crispy. The location is a portion of the Luby's Cafeteria that was redeveloped containing two other restaurants. This location has decor and atmosphere reminiscent of the first location. Oooh they changed up the menu a little bit. That's always a challenge, but I get it. If they never changed anything, that might get boring. We ten to come to Snuffer's on Saturday evenings, and there was only one time it was...crowded and too loud. I think they had a kids' party going on. We've yet to have a down experience at Snuffer's. They have a neat appetizer with half fried pickles and half fried mushrooms. Their loaded fries are also quite tantalizing. I mean to say that this place is truly at the top of the heap when it comes to apps and sides. I've never had sweet potato fries quite so crispy and good. Moving on... This chili dog monstrosity on the menu is big enough to kill a small wolverine. I think of all our visits, I've steered to that all but two times. Just the dog weighs in at half a pound, according to the menu. I can barely get through half of it, but it is worth taking the rest home. Burgers are good, not great, yet they are always consistent. The remainder of the menu, well, we will have to come A LOT more to work through it all. The club sandwich got rave reviews from my wife, and their salads are very generous. Try the sliders, though. They are a neat way to try some different flavor combos. This is a seat-yourself place, and the service, for us, has never lacked one iota. My brother-in-law & his wife came into town tonight. We decided to go to Snuffers. We got there at 8:30pm. The server told us right away told us that they were closing at 9pm. I asked if the kitchen was still open. She said it was until ten till nine. The whole vibe was she didn't want us there. We sat down anyway and hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu. She came up to take our food order. Didn't ask about drinks. I told her I felt like she was rushing us. She just kinda laughed. I asked her if she wanted us to leave and she replied, "You can do whatever you want." That gave us the answer they didn't want our business. We ended up going next door to Torchy's. We had a great time at Torchy's and spent over $100 in food and drinks. Snuffers has gone downhill and it's sad . Won't be returning. read more

We go to Snuffers all the time so this vist was truly disappointing. We walked in at about noon on a Friday and had to seat ourselves. No problem - except that most of the empty tables were either full of dirty dishes or there was a rag on the table, meaning that the plates had been cleared but the table was not ready for customers. We should have left immediately but we sat down at the one clean table in the restaurant. After a few minutes, our server came to take our order; she was nice and efficient. We ordered the fried mushrooms, a classic cheeseburger with fries and a bowl of chili. I ordered chili because Snuffers has reduced the salad choices to two, neither of which were appealing. No grilled chicken salad, no taco salads, for example. The mushrooms were hot and tasty - but they came without napkins, plates or forks. The server said that there was no clean plates or silverware; they arrived a few minutes later but did not feel warm from having come right from the dishwasher (I once was a dishwasher so I know how they should feel!). The entrees came in due course. The burger tasted good but the fries were lukewarm and soggy. The chili tasted good but it was watery. It left me with a bit of indigestion. Now, back to the dirty tables. We were there for aobut 30-45 minutes and the dirty table next to us was not cleared for at least 30 minutes - and was dirty when we got there. When we left, there were six, yes six!, tables with dirty dishes on them. There were no open and clean tables. We won't go back there; the place was filthy and nobody seemed to care. Worse, if the dining room was this dirty, I can't imagine how dirty the kitchen is. Cheddar fries used to be the reason we would frequent Snuffer's - ever since they changed food vendors they are horrible. Waiter was very apologetic for the switch - said they switched from Sysco to a new vendor and lots of people are complaining about the quality. Ranch dressing is changed also. We have been eating at Snuffer's for many, many years. The quality of food remains high, but the quantity has decreased significantly. Two examples: 1. The original chicken sandwich is much smaller. The amount of chicken is much less; it is puny. I think that Snuffer's also reduced the size of the bun so that the smaller amount of chicken wouldn't be so noticeable, but that ploy didn't work because the tiny amount of chicken is obvious. 2. The amount of fried mushrooms in a basket has shrunk appreciably. After eating dinner at Snuffer's yesterday, we were still hungry and ate more at home afterwards. It's too bad that Snuffer's chose to decrease the amount of food instead of raising prices. We don't have a compelling reason to eat at Snuffer's anymore. read more

I went here for the first time in a couple years. I used to work at the Snuffers in Highland Village and I absolutely loved the food. Unfortunately, I waited 20 minutes after putting my drink order in and a server never came to take my order. Eventually, I decided to get the check for the drinks which took another 5 minutes and left. It's been a few years since I was last here but this location of Snuffers is my favorite location hands down. The staff is always on top of keeping our glasses filled and clearing the tables. I can't stand it at other places the waiters or waitresses will bring more food and not pick up anything. The price of the food can't be beat for the quality your going to be getting from here. Also the poppy seed buns are to die for. My husband and I use to love sharing the Markers Mark Milkshake together, probably won't find it on the menu anymore but the manager might be able to look it up or remember it. read more

We have been going to Snuffers for decades. The burgers are great and the salads are good as well. Tonight may have been an exception so we will go back once more. Tonight the service sucked. It was almost non existent. We waited a pretty long time for a burger and a salad. Our server was not motivated to do much of anything. Except she sat down and looked at her phone for 10 minutes or so. So needless to say her tip was not spectacular. I'm happy to tip those who pay attention but I also don't wanna reward those who don't. While we were munching a family of four came in and sat down. They left after being ignored. As I said, it could have been a bad night and I do love the food, but when I return if it is a repeat, I won't go back ...ever. read more

We go once a month for years.. We split a large bean and cheese nachos like always. About half way through I asked my wife if she tasted the beans this time. She said no but thought they maybe just put extra cheese. I asked waitress. She got mgr that said cook put beans on too lite. She smiled and left. I paid the bill. Left 4 out of 12 nachos and peeled them open in front of waitress. No beans. She said she knew that the first time she looked but thought mgr. would handle it. No discount. No nothing. We started going to Snuffers innAddison almost 30 ago. Each time the leadership/ownership changes, the food and the experience lessens. This past week we visited the Richardson location. The new owners have the menu down to 1/2 the # of items offered but the price sure went up. For a large cheese fry and a quesadilla with 2 waters (free) it was just shy of $40. Sadly, the ranch tastes like store bought not the yummy garlic ranch they used to have and the tables need to be refinished bc the old shellac is worn off and the cleaning solution makes the wood feel sticky. My suggestion is to head south to Del's on east Beltline for an awesome grilled chicken sandwich or burger and homemade root beer for approximately $30 for two delicious meals. read more

I stopped In for a late lunch on Tuesday and was delighted to find the daily special. However, Upon receiving my classic cheeseburger, I was disappointed at how thin the meat patty was! I have been a regular customer of the OG Snuffers on Greenville for more than 20 years, And the burgers there are very thick and juicy, And consistently excellent! Still a huge fan of Snuffer's! We go at off times, but there's never a wait. Service is always at least decent. My sister says they have the best burger in the world! Last time I gave Snuffers 5 stars. This time it was a bomb. I placed my order over the phone and arrived to pick it up 15 minutes later. I thought,surely it would be ready when I arrived. Nope. I asked the bartender who said when it's ready it would be at the front of the restaurant with some guy. So, I sat in the front and waited 10 more minutes. No one could be seen and no food was there. A waitress approached me to take my order. I replied that I'm waiting for my food. She said it would be out immediately without asking what I ordered. I looked around and the restaurant was mostly empty. I sat for another 5 minutes and another person wanted to take my order. I said, "I'm about to leave. I have waited 30 minutes for a sandwich. This is ridiculous. The bartender and waitress said it would come out shortly. I've been waiting a half hour. Where is my food???!" She said, "oh! It's in the kitchen. I'll go get it now." The lack of communication by three people for one to go order is baffling to me. I'll reconsider coming here again. My sandwich wasn't even warm when I finally got it. Boy howdy has this place gone down the crapper! Snuffer's used to have the absolute best burgers and bacon cheddar fries in town. Sadly now... that is not the case. I started my order with the fried chicken sandwich that had to go back because my chicken literally bit me back. Switched to just an original cheese burger as a safe bet and that was so boring and basic. My fiancé ordered the club sandwich (actually came with like 6 fries and is the only item on the menu that comes with them) and the bread was soggy on the bottom. Why?! It literally just left the kitchen... Anyways! Rest assured to know that now your burger does not even come with fries. You have to pay extra for that. Seriously?! Also, the cheddar fries are exactly just that now. Fries with melted cheese on top. You have to pay extra for the bacon, chives and jalapeños. The cheddar fries were garbage. They are literally charging $12+ for a burger and then charging extra if you want anything on the side. Talk about nickel-and-diming your patrons. We will never be back after seeing that this is their new way of doing things and tasting the mediocre food that used to be full of flavor. This was a lunch with my son and me. We both had the lunch burger special. The food came out within 10 minutes, was hot and overall good. I think the perceived value for the burger and fries stood out. Savanah was our server and she was the exceptional component of this experience.
