Really nice older guy. Doesn't speak a lot of English, but the shaved ice was good! He hooked it up with a lot of condensed milk on top.

It isn't super sweet either and the textures were great, specifically the coconut cream and their house made rock sugar candies. They have a flavor made out of a flower that smells similar to jasmine if that is something you like! One of the most memorable shaved ice spots I've been to. Everything we tried was delicious, but what really stood out to me was the customer service. When I was ordering, they took the time to explain exactly what was in the items I was interested in. If I didn't know what something was, they explained it to me and made sure I understood what I was ordering and would actually enjoy it. I really appreciated that instead of just assuming I knew what everything was. They also took the time to tell us about Hawaiian culture and the history behind some of the specific shaved ice options, which made the experience even more enjoyable. You could tell they genuinely wanted us to learn something and have a good experience. The interior is also really nice and welcoming. Between the huge portions, great service, and the little bit of culture and education that came with our visit, I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Honolulu!

I've seen this place packed before with all tables filled and a line. Weekdays in the afternoon might be good timing! The vibe was your average "ice cream" ambiance. I loved the photos so you can see your options. IMO, the menu board lighting was a little weird, I thought when I was taking a photo it was my eyes, then thought it was the lighting from outside, but I think it's lit by bulbs? Idk. LOL. You can still read the menu but at first glance, you will question if it's your vision. LOL. My "mini" Mahalo-halo was perfect! It didn't make me feel that guilty at all. I mean, I'm all about dessert before a meal. In my experience, it is always a challenge to eat Halo halo because it's filled to the top. My strategy: take off the cover (if it's not overspilling: if it is, skip this step), eat some of the ice cream, and take a few sips! That should leave you enough room to mix everything, each scoop you should get a different bite. A long spoon would be best for the larger sizes! Magnolia did not disappoint. I'll be back!!

I am more of minimalist...cheese pizza, salad with just a handful of accoutrements, espresso with milk, maybe a syrup, etc. This time I got an Ube Macapuno Swirl in a waffle cone for $6...the cone was an extra $1. Purpl yam and young coconut ice cream - excellent. Service was and inattentive but there was only one, elderly employee. Hours are daily from 1000a till 800p. Plenty of parking available within the Kapalama Shopping Center. P.S. on the side street - Kaumalii - running parallel with Dillingham Blvd., two cars were parked kissing front to rear. I think this is as close any Lexus / Toyota owner wants to get to an Infiniti / Nissan owner...jk.

It's been a great while since I've been to the food court and decided to see what's up there instead of driving around to figure what I was craving and was happy to see Bee's Boba Express in the corner. Super cute kiosk filled with various drink offering including floats, smoothies and even shave ice cups. I really didn't want something too sweet just a refreshing drink on this hot and humid day as just entering the air conditioned building alone felt like my skin was healing, so I decided on a Apple Green Tea which sounded nice and though looking at the menu and pics I seriously didn't think it would really be that vibrant green but in fact it was actually much more greener like I'm having straight syrup which is what it tasted like....super super sweeeeet. OMG for mer personally nothing could have saved it not adding water or tea which I can believe it contained tea all I could taste was sweet...sigh! The staff was nice and friendly very efficient in making my drink but after just a few sips it had to go. I'm just a tea person and this wasn't it for me but lovely place and maybe a simple shave ice next time. Thank you!

The hard-working staff was providing huge portions, about the size of a baby's head covered with our choice of dozens of delicious syrups. After seeing these large portions go past me, I asked for baby size or even half baby size and was served about something the size of my fist. Certainly a nice serving on a hot day. I also opted for the heavy cream poured on top, deliciousness! Strongly recommended for any party where you can park a truck. Really fantastic!

Combined these flavors showcase the colors of the rainbow, hence the name. And you absolutely must get your shave ice with condensed milk. If your shave ice doesn't look like a fresh blanket of snow on top a colorful mountain, you are doing it wrong. The ice is soft. They offer a ton of flavors and toppings. Most importantly, the ratio between shave ice and syrup has to be proportionate. Otherwise, you'll end up with mostly melted shave ice or a pile of ice at the end. Shaka Shave Ice has the perfect ratio. You can find a list of the flavors on their Instagram. The flavors aren't too sweet, so you can enjoy more. Keeping this one in my back pocket for my next event. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what to try next!

They offer snowthies which they describe as a smoothie and shave milk ice. They are really good! I got the strawberry and mango snowthie. They both are refreshing and seem to have fruit puree. I have also tried their milky tea which is non dairy. It is not quite like milk tea but still has that tea flavor that is pretty strong, it is unique and difficult to describe. The milky tea comes with two toppings of your choice. The boba is tasty but I did find it had a slightly bitter aftertaste. One thing to note is that the snowthies contain whole milk. There are no alternative milk options, so be sure to bring your lactaid! Over all this place makes great drinks for a reasonable price ($6-$8). Overall I would come back for more!

Items tried: - Chow fun & fried chicken from the okazu menu - BBQ mix plate, includes Teri beef, bbq chicken, kalbi (my favorite) - Steak & shrimp plate Note: Regular plates included 2 scoops of white rice and 1 scoop of their macaroni salad The chow fun was packed with so much flavor, and their fried chicken was soft with crunchy skin as well. My friend tried their steak and shrimp, medium rare, and they were both super delicious. I've also never tried such a tender piece of kalbi! Also, to spotlight the macaroni salad, it was definitely different from others I have tried. I saw egg bits and potato in it, and it had a modest presentation, but there was much texture and flavor! Staff were also very kind, and the ladies in the front are so helpful and friendly. We also had the opportunity to meet and talk story with the new owners, Vanessa and Jay.
