This is hands down the best shaved ice I've ever had--super soft, perfectly fluffy ice with flavors that actually taste real, not artificial. The must-order is the Ube Cap just like they show on their website. It takes everything to another level--creamy, rich, and slightly nutty on top of the light, refreshing ice. This is our local fav. Kids say it is the best on the island. I'm always enjoying the tigers blood and the kids enjoy cotton candy. Plus, they always add mochi. We sit on the benches outside or take our yum shaved ice down to the beach. Parking is right in front and never a really long line. This comes as no surprise. This places is always worth it and I come AT LEAST once a week. I genuinely don't believe that you can have better quality ice for this price point. The shave ice is smooth and creamy and doesn't have an "icy" consistency if you know what I mean. They have great flavor options for both syrup and ice cream flavors. The sizes are true to what you order, and it doesn't melt too quickly if you eat at a consistent pace. The employees are always kind and helpful, and always help me make syrup options when I want to try something new. Fair warning. The waiting space inside is limited and they can get BUSY. There are plenty of things to shop inside, momentos and souvenirs. There is also benches that you can sit and enjoy outside that is shaded and offers the nice ocean breeze. read more

My boyfriend got the Rainbow flavor ‍ it was the best because you get the banana flavor mixed with blue vanilla and pineapple but wait..... Delicious shaved ice. The mochi was yummy too. Affordable, local, and casual. Nothing fancy, but this does the job. Not a lot of options for shaved ice in the west side, this was one of the only places that came up. I'm also a tourist so wasn't sure how this was going to be, but was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied, would return if ever on the west side. Their ice couldn't get any softer, they have all sorts of flavors that are made in house, not to mention all the toppings. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE TOPPINGS!! Another stop on our Shave Ice Expeditions. In fact we went twice again in a short period of time. We went to the Makaha store tho I know I have been to the truck in Waikele probably a decade ago. But this place is great. Again, staff is efficient. The keiki is the best size for all of us because really who needs that much. I always sugar crash after. I have a hard time recommending flavors as we all have our own personal taste buds but I will say I dont see enough difference in the "cream" flavors for the upcharge. The ice texture is nice and soft how we like but again with that you have a bigger chance syrup wont make it all the way to the middle. Again, not a deal breaker for me unless its really bad. The root beer met my daughters approval which means its actually good. I like that they layer the toppings in the middle and on top. So I could get a good ration of mochi and shave ice all the way through my experience. We are in Makaha all the time so I am sure this will be standard, especially since the prices are reasonable. read more

My cousin introduced me to this place for the first time a week ago and OMG.... I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!!!! I tried the shaved ice. I got the 3 flavors: strawberry, pineapple and guava, with snow cap (condensed milk), li-hing powder and mochi balls. OMG. they added mochi balls in the middle, layered at the bottom of the shaved ice and not just the top, i was happy about that lol the mochi balls were big and tasty, the flavor of the shaved ice was spot on and i can't wait to come back and try other flavors. Customer service was welcoming, fast & friendly, Ambience of the store was relaxed, lots of things to look at and purchase here, cute local apparel, hats, bags, swim wear all kinds!!!!!! Mountain Magic in Makaha is a pretty great place to get shave ice because they have such unique flavors. I tried the lychee cream and the lava flow flavors and I liked the lychee cream a lot. I'd get that again for sure. It's located in a littel shopping plaza, right on the corner, but the trees are kinda blocking it from the street, so just trust your GPS and go slow. It's hard to miss once you're inside the parking lot. The little shop sells other kinda touristy things to buy, but I think most people are coming here for the shave ice. There was a bit of a line when we went, but it moved quickly. You order and pay and pick up at the register. It looks kinda squishy behind the register and the workers weren't very friendly. The ice is soft and I'd be willing to make the drive to try other flavors. If only the workers were a little nicer, I'd ask for flavor suggestions. read more

This was a pleasant find. The place we wanted to each lunch closed early and we saw this shop and have been craving a good shave ice. This place didn't disappoint. They have awesome share ice. They shave it so small it melts in your mouth (truly shaved and not crushed). Flavors were yummy and not too sweet....tasted natural. Got lilikoi, lychee and li hung mui. Get with the ice cream. My daughter got the ice cap and loved that also. They also have some great souvenirs for Makaha!!!! Definitely stop by on a hot day (which is every day in Waianae) and get some great shaved ice. I always stop here when I'm in the area. It never disappoints and the shave ice is so soft and the flavors never taste artificial.

Serving shaved ice in a drink cup is a bit odd, but it was fine and it worked okay. I had three flavors and they mix together with the tall cup more than in the usual bowl. The texture is among the softest I've tried on Oahu. The price is about average, not the most or the least. read more

The staff was definitely friendly and patient. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. They had smoothies , boba and shaved ice. Since we were so hot and tired from our Ka'ena point hike I went wIth the rainbow shaved ice. The flavors were very weak.
