So many flavors to choose from, but luckily they make it easy and we opted for a Local Favorite: The Tropical Medley- lilikoi, mango, and guava topped with condensed milk w vanilla ice cream and homemade mochi hiding under the snow like texture shave ice. The ice is so soft and the mochi has the perfect chewy texture. Their syrups are delicious and not overly sweet. They sell a bunch of snacks in addition to the popcorn, as well as other snacks and treats like li hing candies, okoshi, and "power bars". The girl at the counter was super, sweet, and friendly. Our order came out very quickly and was made perfectly. We ordered the keiki size and it was still plenty for 3 people. Will definitely be back to try different flavors, and definitely back for the popcorn. #supportlocal

It is only about a 20 minute drive from Aulani and was definitely worth the trip. The shaved ice was so soft and fluffy. We tried the Melon Cream, Ube Cream (a must-try) and P.O.G., which was super refreshing. We also added the haupia topping and it was absolutely amazing! It was so creamy and delicious. We tried the mochi topping too. It was okay, but I would definitely get the haupia topping again. If you are looking for a great shaved ice spot away from the busy tourist crowds, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I know I've passed it many times on the way to Makaha beach and Pray for Sets. A friend had recommended this place and since we were close by, we decided to drop in. From the moment we entered, we felt like valued guests. The employees were friendly, hospitable, and were super thankful for our business. I ordered rainbow with ice cream and azuki beans. Loved the fact that they use Dave's ice cream (and not the cheap stuff that's probably not even ice cream). The ice is powdery and snow soft and melts in your mouth! The ratio of syrup to ice is just right - it was not overly sweet like some other places. Prices are also SUPER reasonable compared to other tourist places. They also sell aloha wear and accessories, making this place a one stop shop for all your local needs. Definitely make the trip to Makaha to get some delicious shaved ice then walk across the street to enjoy it on the beach.

I was always a fan of Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha. Super sad when they closed some years back! Let me just say Island Shave Ice & Creamery is my new favorite! Sunset is the perfect blend of Strawberry, Pineapple, Banana - love the flavors, plus we upgraded to add Dole whip ice cream. Their mochi is the real kine mochi balls, super soft, and offsets the sweetness right when you need it! Grateful for the generous number of mochi balls. I peeped the ice cream and it looked creamy soft. Might have to order a pint to go next time since I'm pretty much a sucker for their shave ice now. I might try other flavors but already sold on the Sunset. The service is great, they even made sure to acknowledge us since they were still finishing up another order when we walked in. That is so rare these days and much appreciated! Love the intentionality behind the menu and the service here and will be sure to continue supporting this business. Divine timing today!

Flavors: Mango (good), Peach (awesome, but too little cuz its just a thin strip wedged between 2 flavors), lilikoi (horrible... tasted like cough syrup... ). The portions are decent sized for the price. My friends had a Mango Shave Ice with condensed milk, mochi and ice cream (he loved it) and a chocolate hazelnut ice cream (whcih she said was good) but wasn't very satisfying maybe because she wanted Halo Halo only to find out its not available when we got to the counter to order. Since its a order and pick up at counter type of self service place we didn't really have an opinion on the service, but the staff at counter was nice enough. Overall, it was a nice cozy little place with air-conditioned indoor seating as well as benches outside. Plenty of parking in the lot and surrounding area when we went, maybe because it was during down time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to hangout somewhere to cool off during this crazy Super HOT El Niño summer.

Have a lot of pre-set items on the menu or you can build your own. My go-to is their #7 bc I like to have both mochi balls n' flan, while keeping the shave ice simple. Best eaten when you have a bit of flan + the shave ice to have the perfect balance of sweetness. If you eat the top part of the shave ice alone, you won't get the full sweetness. The flan, mochi, n' shave ice give all the textures. Definitely a great treat on a hot day!

The shop was so personable, the cook came out and saw who I was so they could hand off my food when it was ready!! This is over the top service and I am so grateful for the extra mile. There were plenty of spots to sit and eat, I saw some people with their laptop out and books. I would love to sit here and sip the best coffee, but alas, I have a cute little daughter who was waiting for her açaí bowl back at our hotel. It's yummy, it's authentic, sure there are others that give you more or is cheaper, but this food is true to its origin, and tasty. K pop blasting, tons of noodles and deep fried options, all done tastefully well and not overly salty or oily. Deep fried cheese balls were amazing. Cold noodles were devoured, bibimbap was great, ban chan were yummy and the couple sitting next to us having a bingsu looked like they approve. This restaurant is small and tucked in a little shopping center with other well-known restaurants around, but I promise you, you have to give this place a try! Upon walking in, the menu is on the wall. After you order, you can get a cup of water and find a seat (seating is very limited, with only a few tables). The girl who took our order was so sweet and explained that it might be about a 10-minute wait because the food is made to order. My husband and I ordered the mandu ramyun, the mixed cold noodles, the pork kimbap, and the mango bingsu, and everything was AMAZING! I've had a lot of Korean food growing up with many Korean friends, and my husband has been to Korea many times, so we've had our fair share. The minute my husband took a bite of his mixed cold noodles, his words were, " Oh fuck, that is so good. OMG." As we kept eating, the kimbap came out, and we took a bite, and our eyes grew so big because we knew it was freshly made, super fresh, and so crisp and delicious! Our order of favorites is the mixed noodles, the kimbap and the mandu ramyun. Our mango bingsu was made when we told them we were about finished with our meal. They brought it out, and it was a mountain of the lightest, creamiest shaved ice, piled with juicy mango. It was so good, and so refreshing after our meal. When you're done eating, there's a place to place your dirty dishes as well, and they come and wipe down the tables after. All in all, we are definitely coming back again, even if it's all the way in Ewa Beach! Before we left, my husband told me, "damn, that was so good, we need to bring people here when they visit us." LOL I've never heard him rave about a place as much as he did about this one, so I know it's a place we will revisit!
