I reviewed Snoring Bear Diner previously and am still a huge fan. It is small, but homey with delicious breakfasts and scrumptious lunches. But if you have not been there in a few months, go back now and stop in at their new building containing local crafts and a bakery/café. There you can get ice cream, home baked treats, and light lunch items such as panini and quiche. You can eat in - they have a few tables, or take it home. I had a huge slice of the best cheesecake I have had in ages. I ate half and brought the other half home for a late night snack. I will definitely go back when cheesecake craving hits - I think it will be soon! read more

Wow! Snoring bear diner had the best burger of our entire trip to Gatlinburg. We ordered the Snoring Bear Burger with blackberry sauce, goat cheese, and brown sugar bacon - it was one of the best I have ever had. On the side, we tried the deviled eggs (my girlfriend is somewhat of an aficionado) and she loved them. Great service, to boot. Our waitress was very friendly and supportive. It may look like a quaint, small joint but do not overlook this spot for lunch when you are in town. A must visit with a very welcoming environment that is easy on the wallet. read more

Good burgers! Good service. Real meat burgers bigger than the bun. Did I mention good burgers? Unique kinds, too, plus some good sides (deviled eggs, pimento mac n cheese). Wish they had fries. I really wanted to like this more after reading the reviews. They were really busy at 1pm so that's usually a good sign but when I walked in I had no idea what to do. I wanted to place a to-go order but I wasn't sure how so I just stood at the door a few minutes waiting for someone to maybe come out, but they never did. I finally peeked Into the kitchen and asked for some help. After my order was placed I was sitting inside waiting for it to come out and I saw many other people also unsure what to do before finally just asking the kitchen like I did. Maybe there should be a sign? I will say the staff was nice if not a little tired. As for the food I felt $40 for 4 hamburgers was really steep. Some lettuce and tomato would go a long way to adding some freshness and the meat was way over cooked. I did like the choice of bun and the candied bacon on the deviled eggs. I have to say I liked them a lot better than the burger. We tried the MOS, Bristo, and snoring bear burgers and all were over cooked but the toppings were really good. I still can't get past the price for a smash burger though, that's my real sticking point. The patty was as thin as one you'd get from steak and shake for half the price. I'll probably eat there again because it's so close to home. It was tasty... just not what I expected. read more

Awesome little treasure! Our community needed something like this! It is a small place but the food is big on flavor and variety. We went there for breakfast - I had the breakfast bowl (which I highly recommend) and my husband had eggs, biscuit and sausage gravy (that he also loved). Great little diner with a large menu and serving breakfast all day. Food is fantastic and the best meal we've had while vacationing in the Smokey's. Burgers were excellent and my teenagers loved the sides of Hayden's Mac and cheese. Thank God they won't serve french fries - that's all my kids have eaten all week! Plan to come back and try the deviled eggs and potato salad. Though our bellies were satisfied, we still opted to try the desserts and so glad we did. I stopped at this little diner after a hike and liked it so well my husband and I went back for lunch on Christmas Day. I had breakfast the first time which was yummy, but I decided to try a burger this time. I had the Snoring Bear burger which had goat cheese, candied bacon, and a Dijon blackberry drizzle. It was great. The burgers are made from fresh beef and hand shaped and have great flavor. The service was very friendly. This is a tiny place with just 5 or 6 tables but has a unique atmosphere. Next to the river ~ Food was great! We chose to sit outside at a picnic table and played corn hole when waiting for our food. We had chili dogs, burgers, Rueben, cordon blue. The dEviled eggs were great topped w/a brown sugar bacon that I did not care for but the eggs were delish! Uhm, this place has gotten a lot of rave reviews but we weren't impressed. Not really sure what the fuss is about. The bear tators were just plain frozen hashbrowns. The pies were frozen and storebought. Refills are not free. And I don't even want to tell you how much a hard boiled egg with a tiny piece of bacon on it costs. read more

I think this is the first review I've ever posted!! I can't believe we passed this gem so many times on the way to our cabin @edgeofglorycabin in Wears Valley. We ate everything from breakfast to burger. Yes!! I tried all of my family's food. Incredibly delicious!! It's a tiny place but don't fret if you drive by and the parking lot is full. Get it to go and eat in you car or at the picnic tables. The food comes out so quick!! When you think it can't get better, You notice that they give a portion of their proceeds to children charities in the area. Can't wait to get back and try more menu items!! It all started when we got up this morning, decided we didn't feel like cooking but wanted breakfast from a non-chain restaurant that didn't require a drive into Knoxville. Enter Snoring Bear Diner. Our experience was wonderful! The dining area is super small, but with the right group of patrons, easily takes on the feel of a bed and breakfast. The camaraderie was incredibly enjoyable. The special today was a Maple Bacon Biscuit French Toast. All I can say is OMG!! It was extremely good!! Did I say it was unbelievably good!! I savored EVERY SINGLE bite!!! While not an expert on coffee blends, they serve Vienna coffee which was very smooth. The special coffee today was Blueberry. I thought yuck...but decided my experience would be incomplete if I didn't try it. This turned into another OMG moment! My husband had the Foothills Omelet. He's a protein kinda guy, so he added sausage. He was also EXTREMELY satisfied. Doesn't matter whether you eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Snoring Bear, all meals are delicious and excellently prepared. My favorite breakfast is the breakfast burritos with jalapeños added to it. I am still eating my way through the lunch and dinner menu, but I thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed cabbage, and the pork tenderloin meal with a ginger peach sauce. Give the restaurant a try. My husband, 3 grandchildren and myself stopped after tubing in Townsend and we all were pleasantly surprised! Everyone loved what they ordered from Mac & cheese sandwiches to Mississippi Reuben to plain toasted cheese with a side of bacon! We have some picky eaters and every plate was clean.
