Fried Okra
Janet G.

A very cute little place with great food. It is cash only and it says so on the door so you won't be surprised. We walked in and they greeted us with a friendly smile and told us to sit anywhere we liked. There was more seating in the back also. I ordered the 3 Vegetable Plate and chose cornbread as my bread. Deviled Eggs was a choice so I got them, along with mixed greens and fried okra. Everything was really good. The greens were my favorite part of the meal! Delicious! My husband ordered the hamburger steak with grilled onions and peppers, a salad and green beans. He loved everything. The tea was fresh brewed. So good! (We ordered unsweetened so I can't comment on the sweet) We will definitely come back!

Lunch time menu, great ppl, very affordable

Deviled eggs.

Great old school Knoxville place. Home cooked food. Excellent deviled eggs. The four of us ordered meatloaf, BLT, bologna sandwich, and club sandwich. I expected the club sandwich to be cut into triangles; however, it was only cut in half. Perhaps a different chef that day who didn't understand club sandwich protocol, but no problem, the sandwich was tasty. It was a Monday, so perhaps they were having "a Monday" Their meatloaf was scratch made--not from a seasoning packet--and the tomato glaze on the meatloaf was homemade.

Monster Chicken Legs!

What a great bunch of people who love what they do and make an amazing lunch! The chicken legs are huge and taste great. They have a large selection of down south sides. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a great tasting and filling meal.

Quick and delicious! We especially loved the catfish, slaw, cucumber salad, deviled eggs, and okra.

Great little spot for a lox bialy and a latte…read more We got: -Potato blintz (not very flavorful but it went okay) -lox bialy (dill and scallion schmear, goood nova lox, red onion, cucumber, capers, tomato, sweet pepper relish and dill. served on an everything bialy. This was the star) -latte I'm deeply regretting my not grabbing a babka on the way out but it just gives me another excuse to head back!

As a Michelin guide restaurant, Potchke has earned the right to "mess around in the kitchen", as…read morethey say. However, I wonder about the hype. Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.
