Food has changed some since my last visit. I'll have to go back and try it on another day. Service is always good.

What a little burger gem! I've lived in this area for 6 years. This is the first time I've tried. Scott's. It's a small, nondescript place. Seating, due to distancing, allows about 5 tables to be utilized. The staff all wear masks and gloves. Refills on drinks are not allowed, due to covid. I ordered the Big C bacon cheeseburger and tater tots. The burger was almost as big as the plate! It was, hands down, the best burger I've had in a restaurant in years. It was full of flavor and 3 napkins juicy. The tater tots were delicious and cooked perfectly. This will be my go to burger place, from now on.

Scott's Place is an East Knoxville gem. The food is quite good, however, the restaurant is quite difficult to review, for reasons that I will explain. Scott's is located in an old Kay's Ice cream building, just off Asheville highway. It's just off of I-40 and only a couple of miles from the zoo. The mostly serve hamburgers and sandwiches, although they do sell several flavors of premium ice cream. The interior is quite small...probably limited to 10 tables and booths. It's poorly ventilated and quite warm inside, almost to the point of being uncomfortable. The food is quite excellent. Their hamburgers are all cooked on a well-seasoned flat top and are of generously portioned. They even serve a full 1 pound burger, for those with the hardiest of appetites. When I visited, I ordered a cheeseburger with tater tots and the tater tots were the best I had ever had. They were perfectly fried and salted and they tasted very fresh. The cheeseburger was perfectly cooked, although slightly under seasoned. Overall, it was fell somewhere between a Sonic style cheeseburger and a cheeseburger that you would order at a nice restaurant. The buns are so fresh! They are prominently displayed on racks with the same day's date, clearly stamped on. My dining experience was pleasant but there are some things you need to know if you are planning on eating here. They have a very small flat-top and everything is made to order so be prepared to wait. It took about 20 minutes to finish my order because a couple of people were ahead of me and, again, they have a very small flat-top. The dining area is also quite small and was uncomfortably hot when I visited but I think it's partially due to the heat from the grill and fryers. If you're in the area and are considering a feast food burger, try Scott's instead. If you don't mind an extended wait time, then you will definitely enjoy their food!

Scott's Place is an old fashion diner and ice cream parlor. Its famous for their Big C burger it's the largest hand made all beef burger on the planet. This burger weighs more than one pound, if you add lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and cheese. Scott's place has amazing old fashion ice cream, with over a dozen flavors to choose from.

Excellent food, reasonably priced. Retro Kay's building is neat. Service is kinda slow plus they are still doing the mask thing as of July 21 - so you often end up sitting there for quite a while breathing your own air. Main cashier can't multi task so you often stand at the register for a while watching your order getting cold while she takes other parties orders all the way through the ringing up process. I've been known to stand there while a family of four stared at the menu for several minutes only to be handed the bag that had been sitting there ready to go the whole time...

In my endless search for BIG FOOD, I was once again tipped off to a tiny little place that serves a BIG burger. Today, I made my way into old knoxville in search of the Scotts Place home of the "BIG C" a loaded one pound hamburger. I found Scotts located in the old kays ice cream spot on Asheville Highway. I walked in just before noon. It was empty, just a couple good ole boys sitting table. Pretty sure they are permanent fixtures. They were the first to greet me. I made my way to the counter, greeted again and glanced across the menu finding the BIG C at the top of it. I have a theory that any place that still uses an old Coca Cola peg board menu is gonna serve you something tasty. (This theory has failed few amd far between) I ordered my BIG C with cheese and another one for good measure pairing them with tots and a mint shake, I had my lunch. It was quick to the table but worth the wait! As I sat there the line began to make its way to the door the closer it got to lunch. As my food finally made it to the table I could then see why they were so busy! Another knoxville hidden gem unearthed in Scotts. Not to be missed if passing through and on my list of places to share as we have guest from out of town. If your in the mood for greasy, fresh made, cooked to order diner/deli style food or in like your Burgers HUGE. DONT PASS SCOTTS CAUSE THEY'VE GOT IT!

Pretty good ice cream on a big cone. Got two cones with single giant scoops on them for $5. Not too far from the hood, but that usually means that it is locally owned which this place indeed is. Support one of the only locally owned Ice Cream and Burger joints in East Knoxville!

Very Impressive! Great "hole in the wall" atmosphere and customer service was super. I had the Big C. It's not for the faint of heart. The menu has something for everyone.

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.

There's a side of beef on those buns, hamburger buns, not mine, at least not until after a few more visits. I ordered the SEC burger. It was full of perfectly grilled onions, an ample amount of bacon, cheddar cheese, and let's not forget the chunk of meat. The saying "the South shall rise again" is befitting, for the SEC surely rose to the occasion. My son-in-law ordered the Double Vol. Vol as in volunteer, but it could have stood for the abbreviation vol, as in VOLUME! Even after cutting his burger in half, he had difficulty arranging which angle to tackle the behemoth. After a couple of attempts, he finally got a handle on the thing and made quick work of it. He mentioned that a snake would have had a hard time getting its mouth around that burger. Even after dislocating its jaw! The boy loved the challenge as much as he loved the burger. Fries galore come with your burger selection. There is plenty enough to bring home in a box with what burger you may have left over. Now, let me discuss the milkshake bar. Sorry, but I can't. I wanted one big time. But my daughter reminded me that we had Buttermilk Sky Pie waiting for us back at the house. It won out this time. But my next visit to S and A's will include a milkshake without doubt. I did see a number of folks enjoying theirs. They all had smiles. There are plenty of tables and a huge TV, so you can bring the neighborhood with you. Don't worry about parking, there's plenty of that too. I bet this place rocks during a big game. True, southern hospitality greets you at the order counter. These folks were happy, polite, and smiling. They stayed that way as they came by to check up on you, making sure that your Sam and Andy's experience is a good one. Did they cater to my every whim? Well, every whim associated with food. I didn't pressure them. After all, it was only my first visit. Quick Tip: They serve Coca-Cola products. I didn't know what to get. My daughter suggested an Arnold Palmer. What the heck is that I asked. Lemonade and ice tea, she said. I opted for the Tiger Woods. Water.....( think about it before you "hazzard" a guess ).
