Really upset that this place is about to fall apart. The guy that worked here forever has been let go. I've tried it once since he's been gone. I use to recommend this place to everyone. We left dollywood around 530pm with 3 starving kids who were craving burgers. After looking at yelp we saw that chubbys burgers were getting 5 star reviews. It stated on yelp that it stayed open until 7pm. We arrived a few minutes before 6. Our greeting was WE ARE CLOSED!! I said in a much nicer response oh im sorry i thought you were open until 7? She then said no we close at 6pm and have closed at 6pm for over a month now! I get it, i honestly do. When my time is up i too want to go home after a long day. Im not leaving a bad review because they were closed, the bad review is because of 1.) YELP states the closing time as 7pm, not 6pm in which she said. So simply change the hours on yelp to 6pm as the close. This would eliminate customers who use yelp and want to go to your establishment after you are closed. 2.) Every customer may not be from the local area and would have no idea that you have been closing at 6pm over the last month- again non locals are using yelp to find your place and plainly see you are or according to yelp should be open until 7 and not 6. Anyway whoever reads this one star review should understand it has nothing to do with the food. Im pretty sure its great and we intend to go back one day when driving through and try it! read more

Don't let the fact that this is in a gas station fool you. It is spectacular! Nothing fancy but fancy doesn't always mean great food and over the top service which is exactly what Chubby's has. It's so reasonable too! The only thing to keep in mind if you visit is they only take cash, no credit cards so plan accordingly. I stopped 2 times for breakfast during a 4 day vacation because it was so good the first time. I got the breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, cheese, and lettuce as well as a side of shredded potatoes. Simple, but I could eat it every single day. The staff was so kind and offered to make an omelette or something else if we wanted it and it wasn't on the menu. If the cook knows how to make it, they'll make it for you! Small town feel the second you get in until you leave. It's attached to a gas station and they allow you to buy drinks from there and bring them over. They offer tea and water at Chubby's but really no other drink options. read more

Interesting ordering/paying system that was a little confusing but if it works for them that's all that matters. I hate that it took me so long to try them out. I have passed by here many times and just didn't stop in. That changed one day and the smell in the c-store made my mouth water. Sadly for me they were closed. After several attempts to drop in my luck changed and I got to partake in the amazing food. I came in for the burger but ended up with the hamburger steak. I got mine with mashed potatoes and fries. The stake came out smothered in grilled onions and brown gravy. I wished I had taken a photo but I couldn't wait to dig in so no photo. Anyhow the service is good and the many times I've passed by and saw the parking lot full I now know why. It will be hard to pass by here and not come in for this home cooking. read more

We are locals and have been wanting to try Chubby's for quite some time. We finally got out that way and it was everything I expected and much more! I got the pork burger with chips and my husband got the burger with bacon and bbq on top. We were very pleased and very full! Seriously good food and very generous portions for reasonable prices! I took home a pork burger with chips and a side of fries for my teenagers to split and it was more than enough to make them both happy. They have a Chubby Burger with 1/2 pound of beef with pulled pork and bacon for only $8.95 this thing is enormous and well worth the money. Two people can eat for $15.00. They have daily specials and dinner style meals. Their breakfasts are really good. I really liked the Biscuits and Gravy. This restaurant is in a gas station, not a building of it's own. Their food is top notch. My husband and I had their hot roast beef sandwich. It was very good. The beef was tasty, the mashed potatoes were real and the gravy was very rich. Big portions too. They had prime rib, but I was reluctant to order it from a gas station deli, but since the roast beef was soooooo good, I decided to order a prime rib to go. I ate it for breakfast. As I was yelping it up looking for a quick nosh, Chubby's Deli popped up. Now when you arrive, don't be put off by the fact that this glorious little gem is inside of a gas station. The food here is crazy!!!! I would put their standard cheeseburger against the likes of Au Cheval in Chicago(google it) any day of the week and the I've yet to have any comparison to the Chubby Burger, which is so large that the styrofoam container would not close and don't even get me started on the tots which may have been deep fried by St. Michael himself.
