Great little gem with home cooked meals and nice vibe. Friendly staff. Be sure to check it out when you visit London.

Citico's Restaurant & Club

Citico's Restaurant & Club

We were at Windriver to look at homes, and had dinner at Citico's…read more We learned the chef is new for the restaurant, and is in the process of putting together menu changes, and has adopted a farm to table philosophy for Citico's. We started with the pimento dip, the menu states it comes with tortilla chips, but the chef has changed to use fresh homemade potato chips instead which both my wife and I prefer. It was really good. Next, we received our main courses. I ordered the steak, which comes with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. My wife ordered the salmon, which comes with rice. The steak was so good, it is now tied with the best steak I have ever had in my life. It was cooked perfectly, but what set it apart is that it was the most tender, melt in your mouth steak I have ever had. I don't know how they can get a steak that tender, but it was amazing. There were not a bad bite to the steak, it was really a perfect cut of steak that was sourced local. My wife's salmon was just as good, a crispy exterior with a moist, perfectly cooked filet of salmon. For dessert we ordered the Molton lava cake which my wife says she is a connoseur of molten lava cakes and is picky when it comes to them. Her verdict: amazing. This was really an excellent dinner in a cozy restaurant at the club. I would highly recommend Citico's, and have nothing but the highest praise for the new head chef.

Iron Skillet - Sugar Anyone

I wasn't expecting much from a gas station restaurant, but this place honestly surprised me…read more Everything we ordered was better than Denny's or Waffle House and around the same price. My stepmom got the pancakes and the portions were huge, my dad got the steak, and I ordered the loaded tots which were easily big enough to be a full meal. Service was great and everyone working there was really friendly. The ambience isn't anything special, but for a quick comfort food stop, it's definitely worth it.

My server was super nice and attentive so that was a plus. I sort of feared that my meal was going to end up in utter disaster, after I ordered what was supposed to be a caesar salad. You can see from my pictures, it's not. I don't even think it was Romaine, I think it was butter lettuce, but the lettuce was so warm and limp, it was like somebody left the salad on their dashboard with the sun beating down on it. No croutons, which was nice because I don't eat them anyways but at this point I'm starting to get skeptical because I just spent Texas Roadhouse type money on a truck stop diner. I got the surf and turf with sauteed shrimp and broccoli. I got to say, the steak, even though it was a dollar store steak, the cook made it perfectly for me, I ordered rare, and that's what I got. I hate to desecrate beef, but I had to season her up with a little bit of A1 steak sauce. I'm not overly disappointed, I knew what I was walking into, I just wanted to try something different than what I typically get at this place. But I do know the cook knows his stuff. I would eat here again though. It was decent, but I wouldn't recommend dropping $26 on the surf and turf. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. There are also stalls on the back side of the building. There is one ordering sign between each pair of stalls, so you make sure you are on the correct side if you do not have passenger. The menu is pretty extensive. There are several burger options along with hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. The prices are very good, especially for the baskets which include fries. Oh, and they only take cash so make sure you stop at the ATM before you drop by. When you are ready to order, push the green button. The server answered immediately and read back out order afterwards. Our food came out in about ten minutes. It was served in a bag with lots of ketchup packets as well as some salt packets. There was only one carhop and she was quite busy but greeted us with a smile and made sure we had all we needed. Unfortunately, both burgers were average at best. The double cheeseburger had two thin meat patties which had little to no taste. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the bun was fresh and soft, but the meat simply did not add anything to the sandwich. The Carl's Fat burger was no different. The meat patty was thicker but really did not have much taste. The curly fries and regular fries were pretty good. Both were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While they were certainly busy and seem to have a large local following, the burgers were a disappointment. This would be a place to stop for fries, and the milkshakes sounded delicious.

While the staff is eager to remake it once we say something, the issue is never fixed on the front end which leads to a lot of wasted food..which is frustrating and completely avoidable. We keep coming back hoping it's finally been addressed, and it never has. The overall experience feels extremely low-effort. Food is served on paper & with plastic, which immediately cheapens the visit. Much of the food comes out looking unappetizing, as if it's been slopped onto the plate, and at times it even looks microwaved rather than freshly prepared--especially disappointing for a BBQ restaurant. The food being delivered by a robot is also completely out of place and honestly awkward. It doesn't fit the restaurant at all and draws uncomfortable attention when it comes to the table rather than enhancing the experience. The bathrooms are another issue. They've been dirty on multiple visits, and there are no paper towels at all--only one of those hand blow-dryers. That might work in an airport, but it's incredibly impractical in a restaurant, especially when you're trying to clean kids' hands or faces after messy BBQ. The only reason we've continued to give this place chances is the friendly staff, and the hope that maybe the next visit would finally be better. The ice cream shop next door is honestly one of the biggest reasons we stop at all. Overall, the experience feels bare minimum. I'd rather run through a drive thru chain. It's unfortunate because this place has potential..but it's hard to recommend unless real changes are made. For now this was our last visit.
