Corned beef hash

This is a hidden gem and I'm so glad we found it, randomly, while looking for a quick breakfast spot. The location is pretty small, with an even smaller parking lot - I would recommend carpooling if you're planning on meeting up for breakfast. Although the service area is quite small, the tables turned really quickly so nobody seemed to be waiting for very long. Our server was super friendly and the food comes out very fast; all wins. Don't skip the biscuit - it was incredible, definitely homemade and well-worth it. The food, overall, is very good. Tastes like most diners, but you can tell they are focused on keeping the quality and freshness along with the speed. If I get back to Knoxville, this would be a go-to spot.

Had to leave......SO DIRTY Even the waitress had filthy sweatshirt on. :/. Alot of add ons too No gloves worn when handling food. Chef wiped counter with his hand and then picked up toast. What??? We tried...just couldnt! People in Knoxville need to be more particular!!!

Grilled chicken and eggs

The phone order was easy to place and she let me know what specials were on the board when asked. Food was cooked as asked and ready at the time indicated. It's a small place with a lot of heart. The food was yummy. Capers in the potatoes were different, but good. The pancakes were super fluffy and the kids ate them for breakfast and lunch! Good portions.

When you sit down and quickly realize that you're the only strangers in the entire restaurant, that's a good sign (unless you also hear banjos playing). In one of the few buildings in the Bearden Shopping District that hasn't undergone an upscale renovation, Colonel's Cafe is an un-ironic 80's time warp that lives up to all your childhood memories of easygoing meals at the local diner, and I can't believe I've never tried this neighborhood hole in the wall before. The plates are mismatched, the kitchen aged and cramped, and you'll find not a single trace of anything pretentious or trendy in the decor, the staff, or the menu. The floors and tables are clean, and you cannot beat the vibe--well loved and broken in like a favorite pair of jeans. The portions are good, and the menu is comfortingly familiar diner fare but with an unexpected Mediterranean twist (Capers atop expertly fried potatoes? Absolutely!). The pancakes are huge and as fluffy as you'll feel after eating two. Do mind the time and arrive early because the parking lot is small, and the regulars arrive in droves during peak breakfast and lunch hours. We might have been the only patrons in the place this morning who weren't regulars, but I promise we will be soon!

Pastrami sandwich was INCREDIBLE. Also best biscuits and gravy I think I've ever had

Turkey Club with extra crispy fries

LOVE this little local gem! THE favorite breakfast place in Knoxville - out of the way, unassuming and always delicious. Bacon is perfectly crisp, eggs are spot on, pancakes are plate size and the gravy for biscuits and gravy is the best in Knoxville. My personal favorite lately is the Mediterranean Breakfast (hold the fresh garlic in the eggs) because there is plenty in the homemade hummus. Gotta try the ENORMOUS Turkey Club with extra crispy French fries for lunch. Can't usually make it thru a whole club so I have lunch for the next day. As always, the owner, Nina, and her amazing staff make everyone feel welcome.

Food was good but wouldn't say great. Not sure how my bill was $62 before tip. Not the friendliest staff. I will likely not return.

Cazzy's is snazzy! It's a solid place with a good menu, slightly more upscale Americana…read more I ordered the spicy pork bowl. I liked the sauce on the pork and the sunny side up egg brought a good amount of yolk into the dish. Everything mixed well with the sesame flavored cucumbers and jalapeños. The rice was pretty plain but paired with everything else it was fine. I think I'll try one of the salads or power bowls next time, as they come highly recommended! I also had a bite of the smoked salmon from the power bowl and a bite of the chicken piccata. I normally don't like chicken piccata but the lemon and caper flavor did not overpower and the angel hair pasta was very soft. A bit on the pricier side for a lunch but I enjoyed what I had at Cazzy's. I hear both locations are very consistent as well.

We did not have any drinks but the offerings cover the local, standard and top shelf tastes. The staff is even invited to events to learn about food and drink parings. Lunch was grab and eat. It was very quiet becasue we were well past the lunch rush and before the early dinners. I needed something more than a salad or bowl even though several were tempting. Not always a burger guy, but a bison burger will draw my attention. You don't see bison much in TN. Delicious. Juicy enough I needed an extra napkin. The second reason I chose the burger was for the carrot fries. I don't ever remember having them before or even seeing them. Their good, no reason they can't be a replacemnt to traditional fries and they don't "sag" as much as sweet potato fries. In my case, the kitchen put potato fries on the plate rather than carrot fries. Our server, Daniel noticed it and brought out a separate plate with proper side. Great service there. Another upgrade is that seasoning on the fries. There are several different ones and they differ byt the dish and fry. It was fun to compare the difference on the plate. So, cazzy's is not at diner but a fine gastropub.

Our pup travels everywhere with us, so finding these spots is important to us. It was very spacious too - so we weren't on top of other guests. They have an extensive menu and the same with the beer list. There is something for everyone, from hoppy IPAs to fruity sours. Not sure which beer you may like - get a sample. Or try a flight! For lunch, we got the deviled eggs to start - something that is a go-to for us. They were solid and enjoyable. For the main, we opted for the Abridged burger and the Chicken club. Both were solid as well. Fries were crispy, but a bit over-salted, and I enjoy some salt. So made a note for next time to "go light". Service was good too. Overall - really only a tiny detail to 'complain' about, but easily taken care of next time. We will be back for sure - I want to try their pizza!

Nice job, but you get a lemondrop pretty much the same no matter where you go. Beer is very good here. I did not have one I did not enjoy. But just about every thing to do with our dinner was low quality The Maitre d (or host mgr) has poor customer service skills. He is the wrong person to be in that position. Sometimes I would suggest to have him train at one of better dinner houses in Knoxville, but his attitude is such I'm not sure he would understand his deficiencies. Overall, he does not treat guests as if they are the lifeline for a restaurant. He made no effort to make us feel he was glad we came to The Kennedy and when we left he made no attempt to thank us or ask how our experience was. If he is not replaced the restaurant will steadily lose customers. The food quality was poor. The salmon on top of Brussel sprouts tasted as if someone in the kitchen poured molasses on top of the Brussel Spouts. Then after it was sent back with the request to re-do the dinner without the sweetener it came back (after a very long delay) with a huge plate of Brussel Sprouts that were completely dried out. It seemed like the people in the kitchen attempted to make up for the poor taste by giving a helping size 3 X as normal. The crab on noodles was a "C" at best. The crab was stringy and the noodles were very bland. If people at coming for drinks and appetizers it probably is a good choice but if someone wants a quality dinner experience I was told by 2 locals who come downtown a lot to eat at Lonesome Dove Brass Pearl JC Holdway (the best chef) Oliver Royale ( we ate here and the food quality and service were exceptional) Osteria Stella Emelia
