Food was great. Everyone at my table loved theirs. Service was more like a 2/5, server was awfully rude. Example: my mom and I got waters, she specifically asked would you guys like lemons, we said no. Once she brings the waters out there's lemons in them. For me whatever not I big deal I just took it out, but my mom is allergic to citrus. Mom is shy as well, she tried asking the server for a new water w lemon and she raised her voice saying what?! She had a fake smile on her face and once mom went outside of script she dropped it and resumed her normal RBF. We genuinely wanted to love this place. It came so highly recommended, and we walked in excited. But my husband summed it up perfectly: underwhelming. Not terrible by any means, just... far from what we hoped for. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy arrived lukewarm, and the biscuits tasted strongly of raw flour. One of them was so tough I actually had to work at it with my knife--never a great sign. The chicken itself was tender enough to cut with a fork, but the biscuit beneath it was bland and dense. The "candy bacon" turned out to be more like crystallized sugar than bacon--just sweet crumbs that made the whole dish even sweeter. I mentioned to the server after the first bite that it was overly sweet, and she simply acknowledged it and moved on. The dish really needed seasoning and balance. My husband ordered the Brekkie with brisket, and he said it tasted more like pot roast from a crock pot than smoked brisket. No smoke, no seasoning, just a very earthy, monotone flavor profile. The whole dish was one, boring palate. The restaurant itself is charming, and our server was friendly, but her attention was almost entirely on the large table beside us. We didn't get drink refills, and she didn't check back in after the initial drop-off. The food also took about 30 minutes to arrive, so even though we were disappointed, we didn't say anything--we didn't want to wait another half hour. We might give it another try someday, but breakfast won't be what we order if we do. With all the glowing recommendations we heard, it was disappointing to walk away feeling like the experience was barely average. read more

We celebrated a birthday today and there was only a 20-minute wait. Considering that we arrived at 12:30, 20 minutes was not bad. We were originally seated in an area that was quite loud, but when I asked for a quieter table, we were promptly seated in a nice enclosed banquette with table that was perfect for our hearing impaired guest. This is the first time we've dined at the new location. It's more roomy, spacious and has a homey feel. The new menu has e-x-p-a-n-d-e-d and there were so many entrees and appetizers it was hard to pick. I chose the black and blue fries which are hand-cut with Nashville hot sauce, buttermilk dressing, blue cheese, candied bacon and chives as an appetizer. They did not disappoint. For my entree I chose the Sunny which was described as multigrain bread toasted (4 slices), smashed avocados, tomato, sprouts, radish feta, cured red onion, lemon, olive oil, zaatar, two local eggs sunny-side up and Malden sea salt. Overall it was a good choice, but by the time my order arrived, the eggs were already cold, the slices of avocado were thinly disbursed on the toast and the onions were surprisingly salty. I had hoped that they would have been pickled. For the birthday girl, she chose the Lemon-Berry Cake. This was an outstanding gluten-free lemon cake filled with lemon cheesecake cream, brown sugar-honey soaked blueberries and raspberries, topped with fresh whipped cream. Fabulous!! I expected the decor to be farm themed, but oddly it's almost kind of southwest or beachy, but in any case it's casual and comfortable, which is what you want for a breakfast/brunch spot. We had a reservation, which is highly recommended on weekends as it was packed. The service here was very good but the food was even better. Even the coffee was a cut above. We had two brunch items. The first was their Canyon Ranch Brekkie, which is basically a "build you own burrito" with braised brisket (au jus), two eggs (our server smartly recommended scrambled for this dish) and "fixins" that included very tasty black beans, cured red onions, sweet potato hash, feta cheese and guacamole, served with corn tortillas. This was large and amazing! The brisket with its au jus was just so good. Our other choice was their Shawarmacy Chicken Sandwich. It was equally amazing. The zatar-based shawarma seasoning was fantastic and the chicken was so tender. Some of the feta and tzatziki sauce spilled out onto the fries which made already great fries (with some potato skins left on) even better. We'll come back here on our next trip to Knoxville to try some of their many other interesting menu options. read more

I was in Knoxville for work and wanted to grab a bite before heading home. I was in the mood for brunch, and this spot came up on Yelp. I sent a few options to my wife, and she chose this place. When we arrived, we were told there would be about a 30-minute wait, but it ended up being closer to 15 minutes, which was a nice surprise. The ambiance and décor were beautiful--very cute, cozy, hometown vibes. While waiting for our server, we looked over the menu. There were tons of unique items--definitely different from what you normally see. Even though I thought I wanted brunch, I ended up going with the beef dip, while my wife ordered the burger of the month. She also chose the goat cheese hot honey as an appetizer. When the appetizer arrived, I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it turned out to be surprisingly delicious, especially paired with the crostini. My beef dip came with seasoned brisket that was incredibly tender. Some of the brisket juices soaked into the fries, giving them an extra layer of flavor. The au jus was perfectly balanced and didn't overpower the brisket. My wife really enjoyed her burger. Her only minor complaint was that the fries were mostly short pieces instead of longer cuts, but they were still crispy, hand-cut fries. Of course i had to have a big back and try the cookie skillet. The cookie wasn't too thick, soft center and crispy edges. Overall, this is a solid spot, and if I'm back in Knoxville, I'd definitely return. read more

I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I were so excited to try it--the atmosphere looked great and we were expecting a fun brunch experience--but it ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had. Right when we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation. It was our first time, so we didn't realize one was needed. When I said no and asked if we should have had one, the host responded, "Oh, that would have helped." That alone felt a little off-putting. We even offered to come back another time, but she said they had a table available--just that it was reserved for 1:00 PM (it was 11:55). We asked if that meant we'd need to leave by then, and while they tried to reassure us, it definitely set the tone for a rushed experience. We had barely sat down when the waitress immediately asked if we were ready to order. Caught off guard, we asked for water and coffee first. As soon as those arrived, we quickly ordered beignets, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy--trying to be mindful of their time constraint. Unfortunately, our food took over 35 minutes to come out... which didn't align at all with the expectation that we'd be out before 1:00. When it finally arrived, the food was underwhelming at best. The chicken was okay, but the waffles and biscuits and gravy were cold. And the service? Just as cold. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unwelcoming, and disappointing from start to finish. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I truly hope they reconsider how they treat guests--especially first-time visitors who come in excited to try their restaurant. read more

I think the owners of the Farmacy Restaurant do not really care if their bartender, Jenny, stand behind their counter and drink the returned alcoholic beverages that she messed up (maybe intentionally) or the young lady would have already been terminated after my husband and I witnessed her drinking alcohol behind the bar. It's a shame because the owners chooses to jeopardize their own business by permitting employees to drink alcohol while on the clock and talking rude to the customers. The word will get around how this business in being ran and employees does not appear to be supervised. Would absolutely not to recommend going to this restaurant especially if the owners do not see an with an issue with this. It's been confirmed that nothing as changed. read more

We were driving through town and searched up restaurants with good reviews that offered takeout because we wanted to try some local food but didn't have time to stop and sit. As soon as we walked in the door, the host staff were very rude and knew almost nothing about the menu, telling us incorrect information multiple times. I'd be willing to forgive this if the food was very good, because it's clearly primarily a sit down place and it's okay if the hostesses aren't practiced at taking takeout orders, but the food was very hit or miss. I'd say at best, it was okay. As people of color, we did not feel very safe and this is clearly not a welcoming environment. It's probably our fault for not doing more research, but just wanted to warn anyone who is unfamiliar or passing through the area like us. read more

Would not recommend this place. We sat at the bar and the bartender was more concerned about playing on her phone than taking care of her customers. It was at least 8 minutes before she ever greeted us. When she finally greeted us I asked her what name was and she said "Jenny". She was very rude and acted like she had somewhere better to be. We witnessed her remake a drink for another customer that complained about an alcoholic beverage. Later Jenny begin to drink the alcoholic beverage herself when she thought no one was looking. Bad service and along with restaurant staff under the influence is unacceptable. We had previously been told by several people to come to the Farmacy and try it. You think that this bartender would not be permitted to play on her phone but at the very least not drink alcohol on the clock. It appears that there is not a lot of supervision. I was concerned when we first walked in because the hostess stand was empty and when the hostess did show up, she seemed annoyed, didn't smile, and seemed genuinely irritated that people were coming to this restaurant. I didn't catch her name (she didn't introduce herself) but she had 222 tattooed on her neck. But I am so glad I didn't leave because our waitress was super friendly and the rest of the experience was delightful!! The decor inside is really cute and it happened to be themed like the movie Clueless and the movie was playing at the bar. How fun! I got the poke and shrimp appetizers - both nice! For my entree I got the lemon chicken and the mashed potatoes that came with it were SO GOOD! My son got a lobster roll and enjoyed it. The kids meal with chicken was cute and they gave crayons and a coloring sheet menu to keep the little one busy. We didn't try the cocktails but they looked really creative and fun. Such a wonderful Saturday Brunch experience for us! Needing a bit of the Hair of the Dog, we sought out a place with authentic food and drinks. The Farmacy showed up and took the game! Did not hesitate to order the Bloody Mary and this did the trick! Now we were ready to eat While we were very tempted by the Churro Waffles, we decided to split the baby and get the Beignets and The Chicken and Waffles. It was a perfect combo. They speak of 1/2 off beers at happy hour-hour Only be their "house beer" which was a horrid dark IPA. The wife ordered the $3 Tacos app. We were charged $16. (See attached.) They were so wimpy on filler, it took 3 for her to make semi-decent ONE. I had read about their great French Dip. It maybe had 11/2 slices in it. (See attached). Our primary server's idea of customer service was sweeping past us saying "all good?" Not waiting for a response! We walked out hungry, $65. Poorer and totally disappointed. I had pretty high expectations for this place, seeing the reviews, and it fell a little short for me. We came with my parents for my brother's birthday on a Sunday for brunch. I got the bright side bowl. It tasted pretty bland to me, even with all the different tastes and textures. It wasn't very filling either. My mom who has a pretty soft stomach enjoyed her vitality bowl. This place would be great for someone like her, who wants a simple, easy meal. My dad and brother felt the same way I did. The staff was friendly and preppy, as was the atmosphere. There's neon signs everywhere, and faux plants, making it a very bright and girly environment begging you to photograph it. We stopped here for brunch based on reviews. It's obviously an upscale, trendy place with an atmosphere to match. The menu was a little limited for a brunch spot in my opinion - only 4 breakfast options. She got one of those - including avocado toast and sunny side up eggs - she'd give it a five star. I ordered the frozen (Vietnamese) coffee that was good. I ordered the "Good old boy" French dip with brisket and onions, ample au jous, and a side of their Caesar potato salad. The potato salad was a nice change of pace for potato salad and was good. She liked it a lot and finished a good portion for me. I'd call it good. The French dip was good - great bread, good horseradish sauce, and the sandwich and/or the au jus was really flavorful with spices you don't usually get with French dip. It had large cooked onions in it that reminded me of onion soup with the au jus. That said - I'd give it a 4 - certainly better than an average French dip, but if it had cheese in it, I didn't notice it, and a little provolone or maybe the Parmesan on the Caesar potato salad would have made it even better. Lots of vegetarian options! You can add tofu to just about anything. It is coated and fried with seasoning. The tofu is pretty good, but I wish it was coated in a sauce in the sandwich and tacos. The hummus was flavorful as well. It came with fried bread, but there was too much hummus compared to the small pieces of French bread. Visited here for brunch while in Knoxville. It's in a small steip plaza with a couple of cute decor and boutique shops, so parking is limited, its a small plaza. Pros: great ser ice, wait staff friendly, knowledgeable, checked on us often. Food was descent, no oops and ahhhs just decent and edible. I have the Dave' special ir platter included eggs, biscuit, arugula salad w/ pickled onions, which was a whole NO, it came with sweet potato hash which I wanted to substitute for regular potatoes but the only other potato was French fries so I opted for a side of gravy which was sooooo good with that biscuit which was really homemade. Our table also had chicken and waffles which was decent as well. Cons: seemed quickly but at least 15 minutes before we realized no one had cone to take our orders. One person asked if they had hone friemeaning potatoes and explained thoroughly and she said jes but was brought French fries which she couldn't eat . We laughed at the size of her order of eggs because it was so small she could have ordered a 1/2 dozen. We ate everything so that should speak for itself.
