LOVE LOVE Pete's. Truly a local favorite & even on Gameday they kept a smile and worked as fast as possible to serve everyone a warm breakfast quickly. We arrived right around 10 and made it in (even with a line out the door) before breakfast ended. Their biscuits and gravy are a favorite, because they don't add chunks of sausage while still keeping the flavor as if they had. Everything is great, we of course left so full & couldn't finish it all, but wow it was yummy trying. Yum!!

Really good local diner. It was just a short walk from our hotel and glad we went. Very nice staff and they do breakfast right!

Dan and I met our granddaughter at Pete's this morning. We all 3 got their special of the day, eggs Benedict. If I were to rate them by this one dish, I would give them a 1, but it's not fair to rate a restaurant that low based on one dish. At the same time, I disagree with my husband (who also hated their version of eggs Benedict) but gave them a 4, because they not only served a bad dish, but made it their special. Considering their popularity and the way the lunch crowd seemed to be enjoying their food and conversation, I'm giving them a 3. The service was excellent and the ambiance was busy and bustling. The eggs Benedict were a disgrace to such a popular eatery. Instead of Canadian bacon, they used fairly large pieces of regular ham. I could have looked past that if it wasn't for the sauce. I don't know what ingredients they used for the sauce, but it neither looked nor tasted like any hollandaise sauce I've ever tried. It was darker than most and overly salty. Again, it's hard to rate a restaurant on one dish. The fact they had so many happy customers shows they must be cooking some pretty good food. I will try their lunch menu sometime.

Pete's is a breakfast and lunch staple in Downtown Knoxville. And you can tell the minute you walk in because it's always buzzing. It's a very homey and diner like atmosphere. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu! The service is always phenomenal, the waitresses are always so sweet to me and my family.

Food was good - classic breakfast, warm, fast. Service was good! Kept checking in on us and making sure we were all set. Ambiance is just a classic, feel-good place that anyone should be experience when in Knoxville! So homey.

Service and ambience were quite pleasing. We met our granddaughter there while she had a break in her schedule at nearby UT. We all got the breakfast special, Eggs Benedict. Was not the best EB I've had, not by a long shot. The yolks of the eggs were overcooked and I don't know what the yellow stuff on top was but it wasn't hollandaise sauce. This was my first visit so I won't judge them by just one dish. Other dishes I saw carried by looked pretty tasty. I'll give them another shot next time I'm in Knoxville.

Nice, clean diner. Busy but didn't feel rushed. Server kept the coffee flowing. Food was typical fare. Omelette was fine but nothing special. I'd come back again to try other items on the menu

Busy Southern Diner, where they serve you with a smile. We visited on Game Day! Homecoming! Despite the crowds, we were seated pretty quickly and served soon after. The food was hot, and tasty! Holly was our server, and she never got rattled, despite the pace! Would definitely come again!

The French-inspired décor made it feel like I'd stepped into an authentic little café in France. The café has two stories of seating, plus outdoor tables, so there's plenty of space whether you're meeting a friend, working remotely, or settling in with a good book. I brought my Bible and did my morning devotional, and it was such a peaceful way to start the day. It would also be a great spot for a coffee date. I ordered the buckwheat crêpe with mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onions, and an egg. It was hearty, flavorful, and a generous portion that kept me full for hours without feeling overly heavy. I also tried one of their specialty lattes. It was a bit sweeter than I prefer and had a slightly artificial flavor, so next time I'd probably stick with a regular latte instead. Between the charming atmosphere, delicious food, generous portions, and welcoming service, this is definitely a place I'd recommend if you're looking for a cozy breakfast or brunch spot in Knoxville.

We showed up to a pretty quiet dining room -- early birds, apparently -- but wow, the space itself did not disappoint. Even with our reservation, we couldn't resist grabbing seats at the bar instead; whoever designed this place has serious taste. As the minutes ticked by, it filled in nicely, and the energy picked right up with it. Our bartender was an absolute delight -- attentive, curious about our weekend plans, and full of good suggestions. She also didn't hold back the intended side-eye when we ordered a second round of "Judge Me Not"s. Fair, honestly. We all had a good laugh! Food-wise, my girlfriend went with the croissant sandwich (no meat), and I got the Confit Short Rib Benedict. Both were solid, though the sandwich felt like something you could find at any brunch spot. The short rib Benedict, on the other hand, was a genuinely interesting twist on the classic. They warned me the salsa roja had some heat, because of course they assume TN folks can't handle spice. But, after tasting it, I asked for extra, and let's just say it surprised them. Babe, that wasn't hot, and there was barely enough to taste in the first place. Glad I asked for more, though -- it really brought the dish together. Overall, a great experience and this one's staying on my list. Already looking forward to bringing my boyfriend next time!

The place had 2 customers silently sitting and maybe working on their computers but the whole place felt sterile and lifeless. I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.
