Intimate private tables overlook the restaurant and bar from 2 balconies with a darkened room only lit with candlelight on cozy tabletops for two right behind the elegant bar. They actually subtly incorporate about 4 large TVs on each side of the bar which satisfies the local. Univ of Tennessee fans while not ruining the elegant date night atmosphere! Service was also stellar with our tall waiter Carson all in black, doing an attentive but not overbearing first class service. We were on way driving from Knoxville back to Bham, so we did not get to use one of their elegant gold champagne/wine buckets on a stand. However, we all enjoyed the food, which I rate A all the way! Shared delish truffle fries, thinly hand cut wit fresh parm and a truffle dip, only $8! Our other entrees ranged from $27 to $22 for hot honey pepperoni pizza to my salad named The Goat. The Kennedy has a good selection from burgers to steak or market fish from $17-$55. My fried seasoned goat cheese balls on the salad was delish but could have used a little more spinach as it was my entree. The pizza was generous and very wonderfully spicy! The star dish recommended by Carson was hubby's rigatoni with blackened chicken. The restaurant has a very elegant bar at the back artistic photos of Knoxville arranged in matching dark frames with white mats adding character to the black with gold walls. Great place to take a date or company!

The grits were creamy, shrimp and sausage perfectly cooked, sauce perfectly seasoned. Husband had the special: steak and shrimp with mashed potato and brussels. He raved the entire time. The bite he offered me was tender, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. 100% recommend.

The vibe is cute, kitschy, and comfortable all at the same time. I pulled up to a seat at the bar, and the bartender was immediately friendly and warm and had wonderful suggestions for me. I quickly chose a few oysters while I decided what I was going to have and then after her description of the shrimp and grits I said I must have it. She did not lie at all. It was probably one of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my entire life. The flavor was off the charts. There was wonderful texture inside the dish, which is really hard to do in this type of preparation and everything was cooked perfectly. By the way, the oysters were fresh, shucked properly, thank goodness, and served with anything I could need. This really is a wonderful spot. If you are in town and you have one night out and want something really good, this is it. If you live here, please go there for me. It was great.

We were in Knoxville for the weekend and wanted something different. The highest rated restaurants…read morewere, for the most part, located in Knoxville's Old Market Square. When we looked at Not Watson's menu and saw scallops, Philly-steak eggrolls along with calamari for starters, we were hooked. After parking in the garage very close to the Square, we walked in around 4:15. The restaurant was already full and bustling. Luckily, we were seated quickly by a welcoming host. The inside of the restaurant is cool, dark and inviting. The store is not a dive but has a pleasant character about it that makes the experience very cool. Should you come during dinner hours, plan on a wait. Nathaniel was our waiter and he was great. He was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a little requested guidance on what was on the menu. We started off with buffalo wings and corn ribs for appetizers. We ordered the Philly steak eggrolls, tater tots, and fish and chips for entree's. The corn ribs were unique and original. They take a piece of corn, quarter it and then fry the pieces-they were delicious!! Oh, as Nathaniel helpfully noted, this appetizer could feed four people easily. The wings were juicy and meaty. The egg-rolls were first rate. My wife and I split that as an entree. Between the corn and egg-rolls, we had plenty of food. The tater tots were good but took a backseat to the delicious corn and egg-rolls. I didn't forget about the fish and chips...my son ordered that and he loved them! I had a bite and they were some of the best fish I have had. We recently had fish and chips in the Mayfair area of London and this fish was every bit as good as that fish. The batter was very good- not a beer batter but awesome nonetheless. And the portions? Huge!! Whatever food you like, come hungry because there is no shortage of it! We didn't have any dessert simply because we were stuffed and there was plenty left over. Overall, it was a great dinner in a cool place with a great waiter. Next time you're in downtown Knoxville, don't miss Not Watson's Kitchen & Bar. Thanks, Not Watson's!!!

Based on the reviews, I was so looking forward to our visit here. Truly though, we couldn't get out…read moreof there fast enough. Everything was unclean, which is the nicest I can put it. Visible dirt everywhere, hair found in our food, and our meal was unmemorable at best, since we were fighting flies the entire time, even though we were sitting inside. Whew.... Never Again!!

We came on a very busy Saturday night (weekend of Dogwood Festival, theatre night, and prom night)…read more Thankful to have a reservation, we were promptly seated while others with no reservation were being told three hour wait times. I loved the vibe of Tupelo, the hanging lush green plants on the side of the bustling kitchen, the cheerful staff and the lively music. Lizette was our server and she was just a darling. It was our first time here, and she was so helpful with her all of her recommendations. One of Lizette's favorites was the "Peach, don't kill my vibe" sangria. Which I just loved. I nice mix of peach and pineapple in a sangria. For our mains, we had the grilled harvest chicken and the chicken tenders. Both mains came with two sides. With my grilled harvest chicken, I got the mashed potatoes and the braised bacon green beans. The green beans were to die for, even my hubby was saying he should've ordered that as his side. The harvest chicken I loved--especially the sautéed spinach, red peppers and tomatoes on top. But if you can't handle spicy, this dish does have some heat to it. And we ended my birthday celebration with the heavenly banana pudding. It was heavenly in every way. Made in house, and so delicious that even my hubby ate it and he never cares for this dessert. If I could've licked that little bowl, I would've. We already cannot wait to come back and try some of the brunch items on their menu. We loved everything about Tupelo and hats off to Lizette for making our night even more special!!
