    Christmas cocktails

Third year of attending the Miracle popup at Brother Wolf. The Christmas themed cocktails are fun and tasty.

We had a great experience at Brother Wolf. Our server was fantastic, helpful, and attentive. We were lucky enough to snag a table on a Friday night and enjoyed the bright and modern atmosphere and the wide variety of drinks. Also cool is that you can order food from their sister biz next door, Osteria Stella. We ordered Arancini con Caciocavallo to eat while we enjoyed our drinks. They were super tasty. We just wished they were served with a sauce of some kind. For drinks, we got the specialty Capri Barbie drink (very sweet, but booze-forward and good) and the Manhattan Niro, which my husband enjoyed. We will definitely come back here when in the area.

Bartender was awesome best expresso martini I have ever had! Cool little spot! The only bad thing is the restrooms you can tell they have a piping issue.

BW was our first stop in our craft cocktail tour for the evening. We didn't know much about this bar before coming here. It was Superbowl Sunday, so the place was pretty dead around 7:00 PM. So we snagged spots at the bar very easily. The male mixologist was welcoming and helpful; however, the beautiful lady lacked customer service skills. Kinda felt like a pretty woman experience when Julia's on Rodeo Drive and they're giving her that 'you don't belong here' vibe. Yeah - we weren't dressed up, but we still are spending our money at your establishment so ... Anyway - the fella was great and glad he was the one caring for us. This is a stunningly beautiful bar in downtown Knoxville. Perfect setting for a date night or night out with the ladies when you want to feel special. I loved the large open space, the art on the walls, the lighting. It was well thought out when it was designed! It definitely makes you want to sit for hours and sip drinks! As for the drinks, we were actually a little underwhelmed. My special Old Fashioned was just OK - didn't notice the peanut butter wash at all and it was pretty mild on the palate leaving me wondering where the bourbon was. My fella ordered a slow gin fizz since they actually carried slow gin. The egg white was shaken up well leaving a very frothy head, but the drink overall was not his favorite version he's had. Since the first drink impressions weren't mind blowing we moved onto the next place. I'll come back and try something that's more traditional for what this experience is known for: aperitivo culture (lower proof cocktails) next time. Take sometime before you come to read what they're about on the website - I wish I had as this may have help me understand what to order. OR maybe the staff should ask if it's your first time and guide you a bit ;) Oh - we really liked the Suppli al Telefono: ARBORIO RICE WITH TOMATO, MOZZARELLA, PICKLED ONION. Perfectly cooked with a crispy shell and soft flavorful inside. The pickled onion was amazing - probably the best I've had before.

Brother Wolf has been on our list for a while and we were so happy we finally got to try this cozy aperitif bar! They were doing a Halloween pop up and transformed the space for spooky season as "Brother Werewolf." The decorations were so creative and on point! The cocktails were perfection and this created such a fun vibe before our dinner at their sister restaurant, Osteria Stella. The service was quick and efficient. It was overall a wonderful experience and definitely worth the hype we've heard about this hot spot!

Here is the Leave the Gun, Take the Do-si-dos After this drink I needed a Thin Mint.

We came on a Friday night and were lucky to get a spot at the bar. It some Italian charm and the staff were amazing. I started out with an Old Fashioned with rye, and it was very good. Then I ventured out and tried the Leave the Gun, Take the Do-Si-Dos... that's Peanut Butter washed scotch and Frangelico. the first sip was smooth and had a good finish. Not bad, I could only drink one of those. If they would served a Thin Mint Martini to follow up that would have been awesome! Now we are going to go next door for dinner to Osteria Stella....

Came here during the week and loved the vibe. There was only one bartender so we had to go up to the bar, totally understandable. The cocktails were delicious. Best espresso martini

Great service, friendly and unique bar & sit down restaurant in the next room. Had a few drinks. Chill place during the afternoon and at night very popular and stacked.

Polpette & an almost empty glass of Pinot Noir

Visited Brother Wolf a couple of weeks ago for a ladies' book club. We were a group of 9 and arrived pretty early, so no problem getting a large table. I ordered the polpette (meatball appetizer) and a glass of wine, and the other ladies ordered a variety of other apps and cocktails. Everyone seemed to enjoy their choices. My meatballs were good, but honestly nothing very special. Our server did an excellent job!

When we walked in, she glared at us as if we had interrupted something. She didn't greet us, didn't ask what we'd like to try, only gave us one word answers to any question that we asked. Never once smiled or tried to engage us. My friend was so frustrated with trying to get information from her that he stood up and almost walked out. I kept trying to engage her and even complemented her cute dress. Nothing. Stone face. I wanted to try the amaro flight and asked for it. She prepared it, set it in front of me, and said "so you'll want to close out now?" I told her "yes, that would be great, when I'm finished with my tasting". She proceeded to lean up against the bar with her back to us and didn't say another word. I had to get up and walk to the register, and when she finally turned around, I asked her "have we done something to upset you?" She said "no, why?" I said "because you seem REALLY annoyed that we're here". Her only response was to turn the register screen around and tell me the total. I'm so sad about this because I really wanted to taste other items and get a cocktail, but she was SO unpleasant and we felt SO unwelcome., Seeing all of the other great reviews, I can only imagine that they were with other people. I can't believe the differing flavors they can produce within the same type of booze. Masterful! The bartenders are friendly and so dang knowledgable. We started with the appetizers and ordered some mixed steamed buns and soup. All of the buns that I tried I liked quite a bit - some strong, distinctive flavors. For an entree I ordered the Koji-Cured Ribeye medium-rare - 12 oz sliced ribeye, gai lan, broad bean paste, steamed rice. The steak was cooked perfectly. In fact, word has it that the bar is named after the owners' dog, Monkey, so it makes sense that they pass along their pup love to our community. Note that huge (but very sweet) dogs may be freely roaming and were knocking into people carrying full drinks and begging strangers for food. Also, we were with a group across from the bar and I will say that it was absolutely deafening. We were next to each other and were yelling, "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?" They could use a few items to soak up some sound like cushions on the bench seating, some rugs, etc. It would also make the space a bit more homey and inviting.

The souvlaki minis were basically Mediterranean street tacos. That lamb was some of the most tender lamb I've ever had. My aunt treated me to a birthday drink but I couldn't decide on a cocktail so they suggested a cocktail flight, which was a great option. I don't remember exactly which if you get my drift...but I enjoyed each one. Sea bass is my favorite fish and they did a great job with the lavraki, and the orzo pasta was light and buttery. My only criticism would be that the broccolini was still crunchy and could have used more seasoning and the dollop of saffron butter was hardly noticeable unfortunately. I also had a bite of the butter lobster pasta and really enjoyed the richness. I was surprised when the server said they don't make their own pasta because the bucatini was very tasty too. And for dessert, they brought loukomades, or Greek donuts. Very simple in concept but how can you go wrong with frying something, covering it with honey, then dipping in caramel and chocolate. While Kefi is more of a special treat-type place for me due to the cost, my real decision will be: do I go with what I know I like or do I try something else delicious next time?
