I love Bella! Given dining choices in Maryville, this is the probably my favorite non-steakhouse higher end dining spots. Their food is consistently very good. I especially like the restaurant atmosphere. It's very comfortable, upper scale and no matter how packed you can have a conversation with your table mates and everyone can be heard. The bar has most of the standards...even higher end options. It never ceases to irk me that they either don't carry Hendricks gin or are always out. Must try dish at Bella is Pasta in the Wheel. Bella is a place I can take my Belle for special occasions. Service was excellent and overall I really enjoyed the food, with a few minor exceptions. For the appetizers, I really liked the presentation of the focaccia bread with a table-side drizzle of olive oil and with a pesto, goat cheese, and a bulb of cooked garlic. We also enjoyed the arancini, which is basically fried risotto. I didn't like my main as much. I had the mushroom rigatoni. As I'm not a vegetarian I had to try a side of meatballs which I did enjoy. While I really enjoyed the nuttiness from the toasted hazelnuts, the mushrooms were very chewy, almost as if they'd been rehydrated, and a lot of the pasta was pretty dried out. Needed more sauce for the rigatoni. I can see how the dish can satisfy a vegetarian option but it would also be perfect with grilled chicken. I took a bite of the creamy Tuscan shrimp and thought the shrimp was perfectly cooked and very creamy. And the pork chop with polenta had an interesting sweetness to it. While I wouldn't order my entree again, the service plus the other dishes makes them a 5 for me. You Bella believe I'll be back! read more

I will start the review by saying I booked a reservation on ressy and did not properly look at the different menus on the restaurant website. So I will definitely go back for dinner. With that said, a group of us went for an early NYE dinner at 2pm. We hen we walked in there was a waitress asking the hostess why another server was getting all the seats. I will know that the restaurant was not crowded for 2 PM on NYE and had plenty of Empty tables. Then we were sat in the server section who was already over seated. We had to go up to the hostess stand after we were seated for 20 minutes with out even being asked for our drink order. And the server had the nerve to ask if we were ready to place our appetizers and food order which seemed too rushed. We ordered the calamari and the truffle fries for appetizers. Those were delicious and they came out hot. For our party of five one individual ordered the lasagna, one ordered the Alfredo, one person ordered the penne pommodo, we had a Tuscan chicken penne, and then the shrimp pasta. The lasagna appeared to only have one layer of noodles. There was too much sauce that overpowered the dish. The noodles on the penne and Alfredo were cold as I imagine they mass produce the pasta and then rely on the sauces to warm up the dish but it fell short. The Alfredo sauce could not even be counted as Alfredo sauce, it was more of pasta, tossed and olive oil. It was so bad we didn't even eat it. The pommodo sauce was okay, would have been better if it was hot, the meatballs I added were cold and nothing special. The best dish for the entire lunch was the Panini. We also were not asked if we wanted any more cheese or Parmesan to top any of the pasta dishes. As I started the review, I wanted to eat there for the pasta and cheese bowl where they light the cheese on fire and then coat the pasta but they do not offer that for lunch and did not reference the actual website's different menus. I would like to go back for dinner to which I hope that is when the good servers work and we can chose off the dinner menu. Lunch is not where it is at for this restaurant. OMG Bella is my new favorite restaurant. Of course it's pricey, but it is so worth it. My waiter was amazing and really made my birthday dinner experience even better. Went to Bella for my 29th birthday celebration. I have been to Bella once before for a company Christmas party which they do large parties in the upstairs area. Where for that the food was amazing. The service was great as well then so I give it a 10 out of 10 on service food. I also give a 10 out of 10 I had the lasagna which I had both times my friend had the Alfredo where the cheese is grated and melted in front of you which was an amazing experience. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The chicken parm? Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We went here for a girls lunch which it is absolutely perfect for. It's such a cute little and elegant place. We love pasta and wanted to stay closer to Maryville. Food was delicious and the chicken was beautifully tender and juicy on the fettuccine, the dip was hot and cheesy, and the Tuscan pasta was something that will be ordered again. Our waiter was very polite and chit chatted a little bit about the upcoming holidays. We will definitely make this a regular place every time I come to Tennessee which is several times a year. Came here today for a very belated Birthday lunch with my husband. It was our second time here and just reminded us of how great this place is. Everything from start to finish was really good. Our server Terri-Lynne (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was amazing. She was attentive and friendly and gave great recommendations. We started off with their arancini which was super flavorful. You get six of them paired with their sweet and spicy pomodoro sauce, they were nice and crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. The sauce was really good with it. I got their combination lunch with their beet salad and the penne al pomodoro. I had the salad last time I was here and it was just as good as I remembered it. Nice, light and refreshing. The pears and beets have great texture to it. The penne was perfectly cooked with a slight chew and went nicely with the sauce and the burrata cheese that was on top. My husband, got the short rib flatbread which was really tender meat and the bread cooked nicely. Everything tasted amazing. Since we were celebrating my belated birthday, our server brought out a dessert for us. I chose the apple crostata with the vanilla gelato on top. It was light and flaky with the apples being perfectly tender. I loved the cider sauce that was drizzled over it. Between the two of us we demolished it. It was just so good. Went to Bella for a birthday date night and was NOT disappointed!! We started with the bread sampler that comes with a roasted garlic bulb and pesto-- it is a must have. That honestly may have been the highlight of the evening! My partner tried the vodka pasta-- definitely rich, but delicious, while I had a pomodoro sauce that came with fresh buratta. Mine was certainly less heavy than the vodka sauce, but that's to be expected. Our server was clearly attentive and kind-- asked about our day and our occasion for eating. We even got to select a complimentary dessert since it was my birthday. The tiramisu is heavenly, but we were FULL. We did not leave hungry and were super happy with our experience. I had dropped by Bella once without a reservation on a Friday night and they seemed pretty busy. Went back for a group outing from work about 12 of us. They allowed us to use the private room upstairs which was nice. Great tap list with solid choices up and down and the whiskey and tequila selections were great as well. You can definitely find 2 fingers of your favorite pour. We ordered basically every appetizer and the garlic dip, calamari, fried artichokes and meatballs were all outstanding. Great execution on them all. I decided on the mushroom rigatoni which turned out pretty well. The game changer here is the pasta rolled around in the giant cheese wheel. They have a large and small option to choose from and that is some cheesy pasta! I would skip the ribeye, it was mediocre. There were several chocolate martinis going around and the cocktails were solid. We all enjoyed their desserts, the tiramisu looks incredible and the lavender cheesecake was unique. Our waitress Savannah was incredible, she kept us company and our food flowed seamlessly from course to course. But the waiter Alex, was great, and was very happy to bring me some regular butter. But the pesto sauce was amazing to dip the bread in. Definitely recommend the focaccia bread appetizer. I got the tuna salad and a salad itself was excellent, I didn't care for the Aahi tuna as I felt like it was too chewy and not quite crisp enough. Kind of too meaty and cold. But I would order it again. My friend got the pasta dish with the white fish and loved it. Excellent dish. For dessert we got the blueberry cheesecake, which was just OK, there was something bitter tasting in the Dish and I think it was the crust. Although it was worth getting, I'll try something different next time. Heard great things, so my wife and I went last night. Beautiful place, but service destroyed everything to the point that we decided to leave without ordering any food. We waited 10 minutes before thay came to take our drink order. Then It took 10 minutes for my wife's wine to arrive (and it was the wrong variety) then we sat for another 10 minutes for my beer to arrive. To recap that is half an hour to get 2 drinks. However, We still had not given up till, we sat there with empty glasses for another 10 minutes before asked if we wanted to order. At that point we saw the writing on the wall. So we paid for our drinks and left. If the management at Bella reads these, we will try again maybe it was the particular waiter, but know this, We will wait endlessly, if we have drinks while waiting, then its a fun part of the dinning experience. Husband wanted to try this place again. This time for lunch. I must say, they redeemed themselves. Beet salad and turkey focaccia was wonderful. Lasagna and potato soup just average, but good. I was offered a selection of tea bags for hot tea which was nice. Italian donuts with an amazing coulis. Just not enough of it or the pastry cream to keep them from being somewhat dry. The menu doesn't explain your options very well, but you can either order 1 entrée or 2 sides (for 2 people) in order to receive the table side pasta service. You can also order proteins (meatballs, shrimp, steak, salmon) at an additional cost which isn't stated on the menu. We thought the Salmon was better than the Sirloin due to flavor and texture. We celebrated our anniversary here on Wednesday the 9th, at about 530. The place is very well maintained and cleaned. I wished I could've remembered our servers name but he was awesome. We ordered drinks and I had a creamy espresso martini which was recommend by our server and I'm glad he did because it was so good. Wife ordered a traditional margarita and it's was pretty good as well. Now for the food we ordered truffle fries which were ok, nothing really special about them. Could've used a bit of salt but overall average. For our main entree we ordered the cheese wheel thing. I added shrimp to mine and as for my wife she added chicken. The whole show he did was good and the way it came out was amazing my one and only complaint was he didn't cook out the alcohol enough and you could taste it in the finish. With 100 proof alcohol you really gotta cook it to get it out. Wasn't bad but did put a bit of a damper on the flavor profile. My shrimp was cooked perfectly, not rubbery or crumbly and my wife's chicken had so much flavor without it being too seasoned. We had a free dessert due to use celebrating our anniversary. We ordered the donuts which weren't good at all. Very oily and had a bit of an old fryer oil smell to it. Which would make sense on why they were oily. We got watered down mushroom gravy... obviously they don't understand the preparation required for authentic Chicken Marsala. Better name would be Blackened Chicken in mushroom gravy served on angel hair pasta. The Grilled Salmon with pesto was acceptable but the asparagus was limp. Terribly overcooked.
