Very tasty! My husband & I were visting friend in Knoxville, and had lunch at Stir. There is a "pay to park" lot across the street from the restaurant. The decor inside was funky, and I really loved the bar set up. I started off with an espresso martini, which was delicious. For lunch, I had the lobster crab cakes with a side of roasted root vegetables. The veggies were seasoned extremely well, and the crab cakes were good. My husband ordered the matcha cheesecake for dessert and it was a show stopper. I am unsure if it is still on the menu, but it most definitely made it to our "top 10 cheesecake" list! read more

We went to stir while out of town on vacation, based on a recommendation. This was a very fun dinner, the establishment was hopping on a Friday night. The ambience is really nice with inside, and outside seating. We stopped at the bar for a drink before dinner and thought that the menu was different and unique. The drinks were very well-made and we enjoyed them. For dinner the service was fantastic in the meal even better. Their macaroni and cheese is different, unique and very tasty. We stopped into Stir on Tuesday night, December 9, 2025, and the place had great energy right from our 7:00 PM seating. The cocktail selections are excellent, with a strong selection of creative drinks along with a solid wine list. I love that you can choose from craft ice cubes! This is definitely a seafood-forward restaurant, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Everything we ordered was well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. I took a few photos of the food but forgot to grab shots of the restaurant itself. I'm positive there are plenty of good photos on Yelp that capture the atmosphere. One thing worth noting is parking. Street parking is limited, and we ended up using a nearby lot, which felt a bit pricey in my opinion. It was 17ish for 2 hours. Hopefully I didn't pay in vein but I didn't want a ticket... With it highlighting one of its specialties as "oyster bar", kind of automatically (wrongly) assumed there'd be no vegan options here. Another example of "don't judge a book by its cover" experiences. Happened to look at their menu online and saw a "vegan bowl". Knew we had to try it someday. That someday was today. We went between the lunch rush and dinner rush on a Monday and practically had the whole place to ourselves! We asked if they had tofu to add to our bowl, and not surprisingly, they do not. But, that's ok, it's great just the way it is, but having that option would send it to the next level. Our server was Karen and she was super efficient and helpful. It's decorated very modern and has very modern music playing in the background. In good weather, they have outside seating with heaters. For those hoping for non-alcoholic beverages they have mocktails and a non-alcohol beer. The vegan bowl was delicious, yet a little pricey, but expected for this kind of restaurant. We went to stir for brunch before a Tennessee Volunteers football game (Go Big Orange!). Great atmosphere, really good food and friendly service. We ordered five different entrees, and they were all really good. I ordered the SHRIMP & GRITS, which had mushrooms, green onions, shrimp stock, and white cheddar grits. We also ordered the CLASSIC WAFFLE with housemade malted waffles, 2 scrambled eggs, whipped butter, breakfast syrup, and breakfast potatoes. Both had great flavor. My family had a beautiful lunch at Stir for my daughter's birthday. We went on a Tuesday around 11:30 so it wasn't very busy yet. The hostess warmly greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Omar took great care of us and provided impeccable service. Everything was wonderful from the appetizer to dessert. All of us enjoyed our entrees. I had the Blackened Mahi Tacos. I loved the salsa that accompanied them and the pickled onions were a nice touch. The fries were hand cut and were salted with a course salt but they weren't overly salted. They were so good. I normally just eat a few fries but I think I almost cleaned my plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. Omar brought the chocolate cake out with a lit candle for my daughter which was so nice. A Knoxville Gem I Can't Wait to Visit Again For the first time in a long time, I handed over the lunch-picking duties -- and my lady friends nailed it. On our drive home through Knoxville, we made a spontaneous stop, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip. We chose to sit outside since we had our pup with us, and the patio didn't disappoint -- spacious, shaded with large umbrellas, and totally dog-friendly. They even brought out a water bowl for our furry companion, which was such a thoughtful touch. That said, I did sneak a peek inside, and wow -- the interior is stunning. Gorgeous bar, flooded with natural light, and high ceilings that made the space feel airy and elegant. Even the bathrooms were impressive -- clean, stylish, and well-kept. Now, let's talk drinks: the cocktail menu was so good that I genuinely struggled to choose. Luckily, with four of us at the table, we ordered a variety and shared sips all around. The Appletini and Whiskey Bramble were the standouts for me, but everything we tried was on point. I'm already planning a return visit just to work my way through the rest of the menu. We kicked things off with the Parmesan White Truffle Fries and East Coast House Oysters. The fries were crisp and rich with flavor -- exactly how you want them. And the oysters? Fresh, clean, and delicious. I'll definitely be ordering those again. For mains, we covered a lot of ground: Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Seared Tuna Salad, Tuna Poke Bowl, and Chicken Piccata. Not a single dish missed the mark. Every bite was full of flavor, beautifully plated, and totally satisfying. It's rare for a group of four to be equally impressed across the board, but this place pulled it off. To top it all off, the team surprised me with a crème brûlée (complete with birthday candle!). If I'm being picky, I'd have liked the sugar top a little crunchier -- but that's splitting hairs. It was creamy, sweet, and a lovely way to end the meal. Special shoutout to our waitress, who was sweet, attentive, and on point with timing -- we never felt rushed and everything came out perfectly paced. Can't wait to go back. Late birthday celebration with one of my favorite sisters. We sat outside with the puppers and enjoyed the breeze. Our waitress was amazing and even remembered my friend's special day, surprising her with a born day treat! We ordered oysters (fresh and delicious), seared tuna salad, chicken picatta, and tune poke bowl. Everything arrived perfectly - just enough time to enjoy cocktails, conversation and the oysters. The kitchen was on point - our plates were beautifully presented, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Stir did not disappoint. It was in the middle of a weekday, as we were trekking to the airport, so I went in and took some photos of the interior and bar. Gorgeous. My mother mentioned going to stir in a different city and when I realized there was one in Knoxville, I made a reservation. At her suggestion, I had the chicken piccata. We ordered the crabcakes and a side of the lobster mac & cheese for an appetizer everything was spectacular. Fantastic drink, and cocktail menu. We tried the margarita and a few others. Our server was very friendly and informative. It's a busy place and a little loud. We celebrated my birthday here tonight. Everything was great as soon as we sat down. I had the smoky Mountain sour which was delicious. We had the lobster crab cakes as an appetizer, which were also amazing. I had the fillet and goat cheese, ravioli my husband had the halibut picatta and we enjoyed them both. And to top it off, we got the free crème brûlée with berries for dessert because it was my birthday! Service was excellent and price is reasonable. The wine was also delicious. While driving through the area, my bf and I decided to stop here for dinner. The menu looked like our vibe. It's located in a really cool plaza, we walked around a little bit before actually going inside the restaurant. The restaurant itself is nice. Clean, big open spaces and we sat at the bar which gave us a great view of the bar with the rolling ladder. What I assume is annoying for staff members, was cool for us to watch them move the ladder, climb up and get the bottles of liquor. Our bartender was great he was cool and answered our questions about the place, area, menu, etc. To eat I ordered the Grilled Salmon with potatoes instead of farro. My bf ordered the vegan poke bowl. My meal was so, so salty. Overwhelmingly salty. Like I took off my rings because I knew I would bloat eating it. I didn't want to send it back bc we were trying to get back on the road asap but I swear it tasted like someone dropped the salt bottle on the food and said oops and served it anyways. The crab cakes were good and the cheeseburger eggroll I had was delicious; however, my friend had to spit hers out due to a big chunk of chewy fat. My friend had the lobster bisque and did not care for it all (was tangy). My son had the cheeseburger and could only eat half because he too had chewy fat. His fries were also bland/tasteless. Visited here for the first time tonight with my wife and had an incredible time. We ordered the oysters and the lobster crab cakes for appetizers and both were delicious. For entrees, we had the crispy mahi bowl and the lobster and shrimp white cheddar Mac n cheese. The drinks as well were fantastic. Amazing liquor selection. The service was 10/10. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxed, and you could go casual or dress it up to a business casual and feel comfortable either way. Nice location, my only suggestion for them would be to add a little description of each meal on the menu. My wife's seafood Mac n cheese had a lemon sauce drizzle that she did not care for and my steak and frites was served on top of something like A1 sauce that I would have preferred not to be on my steak. Not your typical brunch menu... much more elevated... like a selection of FRESH oysters and a sample plate of deviled eggs! Even the complimentary food was great. Loved the ambiance at Stir! We have dined for dinner and drinks but never brunch so we were excited to give brunch a try! The menu had some really great options, there were only two options for appetizers (deviled eggs or avocado toast). I wish there were just a couple more options. Maybe a fruit platter or honey croissants... just an idea! :) I ended up ordering the classic waffle which came with eggs and breakfast potatoes. The waffles were fluffy and delicious. Personally I wish there was a side of syrup because I had to ask for it. The waffle came with syrup on it. The eggs were perfect and the breakfast potatoes were great! For a drink, I ordered a coffee and was disappointed to hear there weren't more brunch coffee options like lattes and cappuccinos. The house blend coffee was okay. There were no other options for creamers other than half and half. Our waitress also didn't ask if we wanted a refill on coffee. Over all I'm eating 4/5 because the food was great and the restaurant is gorgeous. I hope the restaurant can continue to make improvements, but I'll definitely be back! read more

I previously reviewed Stir with 5 stars after eating dinner there. I don't know if this 4-star review wipes out the previous one, but if it does and my review is cut down to 4 overall, that's too bad (and Yelp should fix the system to allow for different stars, especially as this is for their brunch and not dinner). Anyway- I have to give 4 stars for this visit due to several small service-related issues. The brunch menu, the food, the extras (a small side buffet with some pastry and salads) were all really good. Service issues began with being asked on the reservation page if we wanted regular tables or high-tops; we asked for regular tables but got high top instead so...what's the point? Service was mixed....good and quick to start with, but then no-one came by to check through most of the meal. We wanted, at various times, to order another drink, to ask for a bit more hollandaise sauce for eggs Benedict, to get some food boxed up to go (and then to get the box!). The original waiter seemed to have disappeared at one point, another one came in and was removing plates, addressed some of the other issues, but then the original came back in for final measures. Confusing and caused delays. The brunch items were very tasty and no complaints there except for the previously-mentioned dearth of hollandaise on the eggs benedict. Again, I hope this does not remove or negate the prior review. Love this place and will definitely look forward to future trips there. read more

My friend and I had a great experience at Stir this weekend. We arrived about half an hour earlier than our reservation but were seated promptly. Autumn was our server, and she was amazing. We started with the fried green tomatoes appetizer (topped with pimento cheese) and a bottle of wine. Then for our entrees, we chose the Spicy Mahi Bowl and the Halibut Piccata. We absolutely loved our first visit to Stir! This would be a great place to bring out-of-town guests to show them what Knoxville has to offer in the food scene. I ordered the peach sangria to drink and it was tart, refreshing, and delicious! We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer and not only were they beautifully presented but they were equally delicious. So much flavor! Jonathan truly made the experience exceptional -- he was an amazing server and bartender, friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. A special touch we loved: Jonathan made a beautiful ice sphere for my husband's bourbon, and it was such a cool detail that made the drink feel extra special. The ahi tuna salad was up first and wow! It was delicious. My friend that I was with had a bad experience with a lot of the seafood dishes here and this was the last fish dish she had left to try. It was a winner! Didn't even need much of the dressing that came with it but the dressing was a great pairing. Will most definitely order next time. Also tried the fried green tomatoes. These weren't my favorite. I think it's the cojita cheese. I prefer a lot of pimento cheese so this was just a meh dish for me. For the main, we split the chicken piccata. Weird to be ordering chicken at a and oyester bar but it hit the spot. I don't know if it was the capers, but this dish is a keeper. Almost had room for dessert but we passed so next time I want to try the flourless chocolate cake. I like the menu...
