Fiori in Old City downtown Knoxville is such a cute spot with an amazing ambiance--perfect for a girls night or a special occasion. The atmosphere alone makes it feel like a little escape. The service was good, and my friend and I both really enjoyed our cocktails and entrées--they were definitely the highlight of the meal. We weren't huge fans of the appetizers we tried, but we found out they're leaving the menu soon anyway, so that made sense. I wasn't blown away and felt like the flavors were lackluster. The pasta was an alright red sauce, flavors could've been a bit more complex and boldly fresh. The Arancini tasted like a bland mushy hushpuppy in marinara. The best dish was the salmon, if I had to recommend anything! Super flaky with a crispy fish, paired nicely with the salad and potatoes. Service itself was good and the drinks were just okay. I like that they have many cocktail options to choose from, but my drink was honestly straight juice. As someone who's lightweight, I was shocked to find that the portions for drinks for the little amount of alcohol for $15 is a bit absurd (I got the st Richard ride). I was disappointed that my food was warm, not hot when served. My sister got a lobster roll "extra stuffed," which did not appear to be extra-stuffed. I ordered the espresso martini, and it was very good. I was very excited to try the Arancini and already pre meditated my dinner choices before going out. To say it was underwhelming is an under statement, it was cold, and not good. The dish should not be called Arancini it should be called a hushpuppy, the name misrepresented the dish and created overwhelming disappointment. I then ordered the a Connecticut style Lobster Roll, and a second drink. I got my meal, and wow, the portion size was irrefutably small, definitely not worth 38$. It tasted good, but literally was finished in two bites. I was finished my my meal before I got my 2nd drink. Over all, the service was great (minus my drink not being served in a timely fashion) but the server explained she was quadruple sat. I have worked in the biz, so I was understanding. So I want to give a shout out to Holly, for being the only real redeemable quality of the experience. The ambiance was cool, but if they put as much time and effort into the aesthetic as they do in the food, maybe they would actually be good. I ordered the 8 oysters for $30 and was disappointed. The oysters were tiny, two of them about the size of a dime. They did have good flavor though. I didn't taste any butter, definitely no mayo - very plain/uninspired, small portion. (Maybe it was supposed to be warm? The bread was warm, the lobster was cold - with almost no flavor - sad) The clams and chorizo. The clams were good size, good butter wine sauce (this is what the lobster roll should have had on it). They had bread at the bottom, and bread on the side to dip in the wine butter sauce. The chorizo was cold and hard - not warm and fatty. Chorizo is a Spanish pork sausage. Clams and chorizo should be a great combo but the chorizo was literally cold and felt like an after thought, it didn't make a cohesive dish. We were greeted by the hostess and also check on by a couple people on their way out to make sure we were helped. The decor is super cute - definitely brought some Vegas vibes to Knoxville. Our waitress was nice but she was kind of slow to take orders, didn't come check on us, didn't ask if we wanted refills on drinks, etc. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed with a bigger party. It was a fairly priced item and you can get it double stuffed. I only got the regular. It was delicious and lots of lobster meat. We waited awhile to get the check and we had to go find our waitress to ask. Our table was getting cleared by the bussers which was nice. The restaurant at that point was slower so we were super disappointed in the service. What a great addition to the Old City Restaurabt scene! The ambiance & decor is done so great making it a perfect spot for girls night bevs or a date night spot. The service was fast, friendly & attentive. The carousel cocktail was a good presentation but with the cotton candy it of course is very sweet. Unfortunately the wine menu is rather limited but they had a good array of unique cocktails offered. There were so many tempting appetizers that it was had to choose but we selected the yellow fin ceviche which was so fresh, light and tasty & the arrancini and it was super flavorful but unusually light and airy. We came here for the first time with high expectations. In total, we spent around $160 for two people that evening, expecting an upscale dining experience. We ordered the Lobster alla Vodka ($38) to share. The menu made no mention of spice, yet the dish arrived noticeably and unexpectedly hot. For one of us it was manageable, but for the other it was simply too spicy to enjoy, and the heat overpowered the lobster. We informed our server promptly and were offered the opportunity to order something else, which we did. However, both dishes remained fully on the bill, despite the original being only partially eaten (about half). At this level and price point, clearer communication and a more guest-focused resolution would be expected. Instead, we left feeling disappointed and regretting the money spent. This felt like a revenue-first decision rather than a hospitality-first one. One and done. I received a response from the owner and, apparently, I am unable to post my reply to his message here -- so I will add it to this review instead. The refusal to acknowledge the nuance of the situation, coupled with the suggestion to "find better options in the area going forward," speaks volumes. It reflects a dismissive attitude toward guest feedback rather than a willingness to improve. We will, of course, take that advice. read more

We chose to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday at Fiori Bar & Lounge, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Let me be the first to say, this place is amazing!! The decor is beautiful and very chic, ladies will absolutely LOVE it! Upon entering, my hubby and I, were greeted by a young man at the hostess stand with a warm and friendly smile who noticed us peeking through the windows trying to decide if we wanted to have a drink at the bar or not. He was thrilled that we decided to stop in and so were we. Lots of questions were answered about the place since its opening of 3 weeks. We sat at the bar and were given dining and drink menus. Unfortunately, we had just finished a hardy meal earlier and NO room to spare for bites. So, we sipped on wine and bourbon, both suggested by a very knowledgeable bartender. As we perused the impressive bar shelf, we took in the sights surrounding us, couples conversing, folks enjoying their meals and noticing the attentive service had by all. We got a couple drinks that were recommended by our server and also shared that we were there celebrating my birthday that day. We didn't make a huge deal about it and just continued on with the evening. The next time she came back we ordered an app and our entrees. It took quite some time for our food to come out. It was not busy at all and I kept watching other tables that arrived after us receive their food. Our entrees finally came out an hour after we ordered and my dish was cold. When we told our waitress, she said "I'll be right back to grab that". There was never an apology about it, she took my plate to the back, didn't say anything or come back and communicate anything about it. After my fiance finished his meal, mine finally came back out. At this point, we have been at this restaurant for an hour and 45 minutes, we have hardly seen our server, and I was ready to leave. I didn't even want my meal. For a restaurant that charges what they do, and as someone who works in customer service/the food industry, I expected more attentiveness/communication from the server. At least an apology about the drinks or even a cold plate would have gone such a long way. Offering to get us different drinks or even comp my meal would have been the bare minimum. After we paid, she said "happy early birthday" which just showed again that she wasn't attentive / listening. I'm not typically one to complain or share negative feedback but there's a level of service that's expected when you go to a restaurant with this kind of price tag. BE CAREFUL... Charged $200 for canceling our dinner reservation the morning of. If you make a reservation here and decide to cancel make sure to do it at least 24 hours in advance. On the day of UT graduation, when plenty of people are clamoring to get into this place, they charged us $200 for canceling our reservation the day of. There are plenty of people who will walk in the night of graduation hoping to get a seat and will be extremely happy that we canceled. The rules are the rules I guess, I just want to help others to not make the same mistake we did. And we will never be going to this restaurant in the future just because I obviously don't support this practice. Congrats to all the UT grads!! Update: I see the owner responded, which is great since he is the person who spoke to my wife and told her he was still going to charge us. My wife did start calling at about 10am but it took a few hours for someone to answer the phone. With 60 people being turned away, I would highly recommend that any restaurant create a waiting list in case there are cancelations. Regardless, I'm confident there wasn't an empty seat in the house the entire night. Please let me know if I'm wrong. I actually think it was nice of my wife to say we were too tired. That's sort of true... We canceled because I didn't have the energy for pretentious that night and we just forgot to cancel sooner. It's my second time here. My wife and I had drinks at the bar for the first time. This time, we came for dinner. Both times were outstanding. An amiable hostess met us at the door. Because there was going to be a party with a DJ at the bar, she sat us further away in the dining room. The aesthetic is amazing. The place is one of the most tastefully decorated in Knoxville. It's cozy, it's modern, and it's classy. We received excellent service from our server throughout our meal. He never forgot us. I had a glass of their Cabernet, which was very good. A nice fruity taste without being too sweet. I started with a half Ceasar salad. It was a typical recipe, but good. For my main course, I had pasta in Bolognese sauce. It was the most unique Bolognese I've had. Instead of ground beef, they used short rib, prime rib, and bacon! It was advertised as creamy, and it did not disappoint. The flavor was amazing. The portions are sized right for one person, IMO. I finished my entire meal. Then, my wife and I shared the Brown Butter Cake. A perfect way to end the meal. It's sized correctly for a single serving but works great for sharing when you just want a little something sweet. It had a lemony custard on top that set it apart from others.
