We are visiting the area from out of town. We lucked up on this gem of a restaurant. The dining area is in a sanctuary of a church. I thought this was very unique. We ordered our food to go and it was ready very quickly. The server who assisted us was very nice and helpful. We ordered a fried egg sandwich, 71 Smash burger, fried green tomatoes, and cheesecake. Everything was fresh and cooked well. We are planning to visit again before we leave.

Great burger and fries! We wanted to try the steak fries but couldn't justify the price.

We stopped by for lunch and had a great experience overall. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and satisfying. The restaurant was pretty quiet during lunch, which made it a nice, relaxed stop. Even though the area is currently under construction, the spot itself is clean and inviting. The service was a bit on the slower side, but since we weren't in a rush, it worked out fine.

This was my first time here. I met a friend for dinner-a much needed Mom's night out. We were seated right away and our server, Tara came right over to take our drink orders. I had the Bravazzi Peach (hard Italian soda) and my friend got the Janis cocktail. They were both so good! We skipped appetizers and ordered the Steak Frites and Chargrilled Portobello entrees. Delicious! We both enjoyed our dinners. We sat and talked for a while and Tara was so sweet. She checked in on us and was an excellent server. The space was relaxing and laid back. I loved all of the house plants. I will definitely return! This is a jewel in South Knoxville.

Enjoyed a visit for lunch after reading great reviews. The place did not disappoint. Cool idea of turning a church into a restaurant and other businesses. There are a good number of steps in order to get into the restaurant, not sure if they offer handicap accessible entrance. The service was good and food was fantastic! The vibe and interior decor was great. Plenty of available free parking and next to a park too. I will definitely be back for future visits.

Such a great vibe and beautiful restaurant. Inside is such an open and warm environment that offers a quality service. The food was tasty and we would be willing to go back for another visit.

My friends and I visited for a concert and were looking for a good brunch place. Boy, did we find one! Since it was a Sunday afternoon, pulling up to a full sized Baptist Church was a little disconcerting. It took us a few minutes to realize that it had been repurposed and was now a multifunctional space. Since it was right after opening, there was a little bit of a line, but it moved quickly, and the service was very friendly. Everyone was so cheerful and friendly that it made the wait go by quickly. Inside, it is very tastefully decorated to celebrate its past as a church but also embrace the nature trails and biking paths nearby. It was a perfect balance of the old and new. Oh man, now the food! Everything that we had was absolutely amazing. The appetizers, our main courses, and the very reasonably priced carafes of mimosas. Everything was piping hot, looked as delicious as it tasted, and had very generous portion sizes. This is a great place to stop for brunch if you are anywhere in the Knoxville area!

The food and service was great. Everything came out hot and speedy. It's in an old renovated to church so the atmosphere is inviting.

The dark, glamorous aesthetic is stunning--perfect for date night or for impressing out-of-town guests. I loved the gold accents, layered textures, and thoughtful lighting. Everything worked together beautifully. We chose to sit at the bar to watch the mixologists work their magic. They were incredibly helpful in guiding us toward drinks that matched our preferences. I absolutely loved my cocktail--even if I can't recall the name--because it delivered the spicy kick they promised. We also ordered several shareable plates, all of which were delicious. We tried the Carnitas Tamales (shredded pork, ancho mole, fresh corn, masa, cilantro, yuzu arbequina oil), the Vegetable Empanadas (house-made pastry, wilted kale, roasted sweet potato, Oaxaca and cotija cheese, black bean purée, and adobo & chile-lime aioli), and a salad. I'd happily order any of them again. I did find myself wishing for a bit more heat, but I've learned that's hard to come by in Tennessee. At least the staff gave us a heads-up that the spice level is toned down. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. The vibe is fantastic--and while they have a nice outdoor space, the interior is so eye-catching I'm not sure I'd want to sit anywhere else.

I just know the person I was with had it. We sat at the bar and the ambiance is really intimate. I have read now after being home that I guess they hide drink recipes in some of the books? I am not sure if that is true or not. If you can get a seat at the bar, it's so fun. Trey was great, as were the ladies! Trey puts on a little show with each drink he crafts. The drinks are ridiculously good. I would not be able to choose a favorite. I have no clue what the bill damage was, but I can say that between the both of us, we had every drink on the menu. Now I need to find reasons to go back to Knoxville just to go to the Peter Kern Library!

The lounge is located on the rooftop of the Hyatt Place in downtown Knoxville, and you can take the elevator straight up. There's a beautiful indoor space with large glass windows, stylish decor, and a full bar. The indoor bar area was pretty busy when I visited, but surprisingly, the rooftop patio wasn't crowded at all. I opted to have a server take care of me outside, and it was such a relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor space was definitely the highlight for me! There's plenty of seating, including high-top tables and chairs, lounge seating, and tables along the ledge. My favorite spot was one of the tables right by the edge facing the view. You get a beautiful look at downtown Knoxville with the mountains in the distance, and I loved that I could enjoy the view without the patio feeling packed. I ordered the Smoky Mountain Sunset, made with gin, mint, prickly pear, and yuzu soda. It was light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted on a warm summer evening. Sipping a drink called the Smoky Mountain Sunset while actually looking out toward the mountains felt pretty fitting! If you're looking for a rooftop in downtown Knoxville to grab a cocktail, enjoy the weather, and take in the mountain views, Five Thirty Lounge is definitely worth a stop. I'd especially recommend going on a clear evening and grabbing one of the tables along the ledge if you can!

I wasn't blown away and felt like the flavors were lackluster. The pasta was an alright red sauce, flavors could've been a bit more complex and boldly fresh. The Arancini tasted like a bland mushy hushpuppy in marinara. The best dish was the salmon, if I had to recommend anything! Super flaky with a crispy fish, paired nicely with the salad and potatoes. Service itself was good and the drinks were just okay. I like that they have many cocktail options to choose from, but my drink was honestly straight juice. As someone who's lightweight, I was shocked to find that the portions for drinks for the little amount of alcohol for $15 is a bit absurd (I got the st Richard ride).
