A fairly new spot on the edge of Jackson Square in OR. My family was visiting town and we attended the farmer's market across the street and a festival in Jackson Square near the fountain. Wanting a bite to eat, we were excited to see that 201 was open and with no wait. It was around 1 pm on a Saturday and they were serving food from their brunch menu. There were some savory lunch-esque selections (like shrimp and grits and burgers), for those who prefer lunch food over breakfast. It was a bit of a bummer that the brunch menu is limited, somewhat pricey, and does not have a kids menu (which is what we saw online and why we came with 3 kids). We were seated right away and the staff was very kind. It definitely seemed like they were ironing out some new-biz kinks with service. There were long waits for drinks, and we asked three times for a wine/drink list. The mimosas we ordered were good but the sangria was not something any of us enjoyed (not served with any fruit or fruit flavor). We would stick to mimosas or try wine next time. Now for the food! For the kids, we ended up ordering french toast to split between them and added bacon and egg sides. They really enjoyed this! Also enjoyed was the juicy burger, and the cheesy grits. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and tail-on, which is so dang messy to pick off in a gooey sauce and grits mixture. My Dad liked his benedict but wished it was served on a muffin instead of biscuit, as the biscuit was soaked through and soggy instead of a "vessel" to hold the meat and egg. Really yummy sauce and perfectly cooked egg, though! We all enjoyed the diced potatoes, too. Looking forward to coming back for live music and for either the lunch or dinner menu! There is also a small outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice.

The Mahi Mahi Tacos, with grilled asparagus as a side. Delicious!

The food is excellent (top 5 of Oak Ridge, TN). Service is wonderful. I really loved the live band, and being able to dance. This place is a hidden gem. Love trivia on Wed nights. And the positive vibe the team provides when serving their customers.

Shrimp and grits are spot on

Great spot to enjoy good food and good ambience. We had a first time server that did a good job.

Ambiance- great; drinks- good; meal- pathetic. Very poor excuse for a steak. I honestly can not think of any scenario where a chef/manager/owner would look at this meal and think "this is going to bring people back to my business". You need to evaluate your business model and try again.

Lamb with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Shrimp and grits. Lamb was tender but could have used a glaze.

Quality service and atmosphere. Food was tasty but serving size on the small end for price. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Had an excellent breakfast bowl on Sunday! If you haven't had brunch at 201, you need to give it a try.

Incredible salsa with the tacos on special this week. And an equally awesome bloody Mary. Not to mention the stunning patio.

Decor is stunning, and once you step inside, you'd never know you're in a strip center. There's an extensive wine list! We decided on a Pinot Noir, but it wasn't available. Made a second choice and it also wasn't available. A little frustrating, but we settled on a more expensive bottle than what we'd originally intended and also chose an Albarino. For food, we ordered the shrimp dip, parmesan frites, and the salmon crostini. Everything was really good! Our server was super sweet and made sure we were happy the entire time we were there. Oh, and the musical entertainment of Emily Wyrick was outstanding!

We were greeted by a lovely young lady Casey who offered us seating wherever we'd like. We thought we chose an ideal spot for a quiet evening, but was quickly derailed by the obnoxious couple seated at the bar watching a football game being televised. Unfortunately, because the establishment is small, albeit beautifully designed...there was no place to get away from the rowdy couple with their explicit language. We ordered wine and a cheese and charcuterie board which was very good. There were high hopes that the bartender (owner - Mr. Van Edom) would ask the rowdy couple to tone it down a notch (it's not a "sports bar".) No such luck! Unfortunately, our first impression was NOT a pleasant one, very disappointed and sad to say I would not return under those conditions at the exorbitant prices.

I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.

They have an insane number of whiskeys so my husband was all about that. The food was good. The cheese sauce is made with a brown ale so it definitely has a beer taste so if that is not your thing maybe don't go the beer cheese route. We loved it!

Cocktails were well done and the wine pairings recommended astute. Nothing to complain about except some of the items were cold - there was one person serving the entire bar and restaurant and obviously had some timing issues. Also some attitude: after delivering cocktails to my wife and me he forgot her mom's - after I reminded him he said "oh I know" and then proceeded to serve four other patrons' order at the bar and then another two top's before even starting hers. It finally arrived after the cold mushrooms were delivered. I'm chalking this up to a short staffed situation and a specific individual, so if you live nearby or are traveling through looking for a nice spot for dinner or lunch I would definitely recommend. The environment is also very pleasant with a nice bar and dining room of high top tables.

Loads of free parking, which is unique downtown. I went for lunch and got the Italian panini sandwich. The bread is toasted extra crispy and is filled with all kinds of stuff. Lots of flavor. Very good. It came with a side salad that was a cut above what I expected. With an iced tea and tax my lunch total was $14.75. Slightly above the average downtown but the quantity and quality was above average too. The place was empty except for me. Give them a try!
