This has the feel of that local "knoxville scruffy" neighborhood bar, many tv's showing sports, a bit rustic, sometimes loud, mixed age crowd, very casual (like walmart east Tennessee tattoo & piercings flannel shirts casual), bar food menu...food wise, I normally order either the Central salad or greek salad and we share a side of black bean hummus. My wife often gets the wings and sometimes a salad. We've tried most things on the menu, even the few what they call in this part of the world eye-talian dishes and everything is very good, nice portions and reasonable prices. Fun casual spot with a rustic vibe. It's quite large with plenty of seating and two bars with TV's. Our server was also the bartender that day (Wednesday late afternoon). She was welcoming and always checking in on us. We're ordered an Old fashion and a happy holler lemonade margarita. Both were good but my margarita was the star! For food we had margarita flat 7/10 and the Varsity flat solid 10/10. The varsity flat would not be something I would have normally ordered but the flavors just kicked! Cajun wings husband said nothing to write home about but were ok. Definitely looking forward to trying more flats that have unique ingredients and the drink specials. This is our go-to dining spot when we want a nearby casual meal. It's unpretentious and you know exactly what to expect. My husband and I have dined here on several occasions. We get our usual, either Greek salad, margherita flatbread or raviolis and wash them down with our individual choice of beer from a local brewery in the area. On one our recent visits, we discovered their desserts are prepared by Lulu liquor cakes which are delicious. Now, my 5-star rating is to highlight our server "Kaylee". Let me first begin by saying, on this particularly evening, she was outstanding (I'm sure she's always). Kaylee was prompt with service, attentive to our needs and she suggested the evening's dessert which was phenomenal. Towards the end of our dining experience, my husband inquired about a whiskey menu, Kaylee searched and could not find one, so she went above and beyond!!! She walked behind the bar and hand wrote every single available whiskey they had displayed on their shelf and presented it to us, which consisted of 27 different brands. We definitely did not expect to received that type of OUTSTANDING service. I stopped by after trivia because I was told that they would have some good food available for us. I got their southwestern panini which was pretty good but their macaroni salad was very balsamic vinegar-y and overpowering. I got their spicy margarita which I felt was very strong and actually pretty good. The reason that I did not have a good experience there myself was while I was there a few of the employees were joking around and someone threw a pregnancy test at me...I think they meant to throw it to a coworker but it hit me instead. Honestly I'm not sure what was going on or what was the reason. I was the only person who looked different in that bar that night so after that I quickly got out of there. Sad to say I will probably never come back here. I heard great things but I guess I just didn't get to experience that. read more

They host the beer run weekly! A group of us meet here at 6pm for a run on Thursdays and end here for more beer. The staff is so kind! I finally came here for the food and ordered the trio dip and the veggie burger panini with pasta salad. I loved the dips. I bookmarked this restaurant just for the dips but knew I had to order a main just for show since my date did. He ordered the east of cali and enjoyed it. I was surprised he did since he's a top notch cook. My veggie burger was eh. I appreciated the pesto sauce but it was still on the dry side. The veggie patty was mushy which didn't bother me since I tend to mix everything I eat after tasting it individually. The pasta salad flavor was covered in balsamic vinaigrette and olives. I didn't fancy this at all. Now for the best part, the dips. We chose the spinach goat cheese, crab artichoke and the black bean hummus. I loved the texture of the black bean hummus - thick and creamy. The crab artichoke was my least favorite - I was hoping for a creamy sauce but it was just slices of artichoke and the crab was not prominent. To end with my favorite dip, the spinach goat cheese was such a surprise! It was so creamy, warm, googy, and has a hint of spice! Yes, it can be spicy for the southerners. I loved it. I didn't touch my main much because it was too simple and carby but I couldn't stop with this dip. I started using the fried pieces of pita bread that accompanied this appetizer but eventually just started spooning the dips. I would have finished it but he didn't eat much and I have to behave on a first date. Ugh lol. Customer service was great though. I was a bit thrown off by the waiter when he asked if I wanted ice and a straw with my water. That was quite specific..I asked for lemon too since he asked and then I realize why the waiter was so specific - my date ordered water with none of those. Figures. The waiter also printed two checks - one together and one separate. Funny guy. There is parking behind the restaurant and outdoor seating. However, the real kicker on this star of a panini is the made-in-house bacon fat ranch. This dressing is so unbelievably good that I think I'd love to try drinking it straight out of a bottle. No, drink is too polite a word- I'd guzzle the stuff. For my taste it takes this panini to quite a stellar level. We're talking far above the ozone layer. Plus the service at this laid back neighborhood locale is great, along with all the other food they serve on their very creative menu.
