As for the food, we had the most amazing stuffed mushrooms that were stuffed with goat cheese, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes. That was followed by an order of crispy calamari served with a wonderful garlic aïoli. Since it was happy hour, the 6 oz. wines were half off and the wine list was excellent. Met some friends at Van Edoms last weekend. We wanted to hear Emily Wyrick sing, while enjoying wine and appetizers. Beautiful wine bar in the Choto area of far west Farragut. Decor is stunning, and once you step inside, you'd never know you're in a strip center. There's an extensive wine list! We decided on a Pinot Noir, but it wasn't available. Made a second choice and it also wasn't available. A little frustrating, but we settled on a more expensive bottle than what we'd originally intended and also chose an Albarino. For food, we ordered the shrimp dip, parmesan frites, and the salmon crostini. Everything was really good! Our server was super sweet and made sure we were happy the entire time we were there. Decided to make a reservation during the holidays. Arrived on time, to my surprise the place was not busy at all. We were greeted by a lovely young lady Casey who offered us seating wherever we'd like. We thought we chose an ideal spot for a quiet evening, but was quickly derailed by the obnoxious couple seated at the bar watching a football game being televised. Unfortunately, because the establishment is small, albeit beautifully designed...there was no place to get away from the rowdy couple with their explicit language. We ordered wine and a cheese and charcuterie board which was very good. There were high hopes that the bartender (owner - Mr. Van Edom) would ask the rowdy couple to tone it down a notch (it's not a "sports bar".) No such luck! Unfortunately, our first impression was NOT a pleasant one, very disappointed and sad to say I would not return under those conditions at the exorbitant prices. read more

Just ok. I was hoping to live this place, but it wasn't anything memorable. It wasn't bad, but they could definitely up their food game. My glass of wine was lovely, but I'd like to have a bite to eat worthy of the vino. The Parmesan truffle fries didn't taste like Parmesan or truffle and needed more salt. The entrees were neither good nor terrible, just forgettable overall. Our cobbler came out with freezer-burned ice cream, covered in ice crystals, and we sent it back and declined a new one. Our waitress didn't notice the condition of the ice cream (which was plainly visible), but that was unsurprising, because she was quite unkempt herself, as though she had woken up and come straight to work. read more

My friend wanted to check this wine bar out last Saturday night. I had been there already so I knew how nice it was. My friend and I did not have a reservation and we were given a table on the wall for 2. Our server, Adriana was a sweetheart. We ordered different wines to try, bottles of wine and several appetizers. There was music playing, and a very wonderful violinist named Marky. Bart, the owner was his usual friendly self, smiling, and happy to please. This wine bar is quite far from our home but it never disappoints and we will continue to frequent it. read more

The decor and design in this small place is impeccable. Not what you might expect in a small strip shopping plaza. The wine list is extensive, and they offer draft beer and cocktails, if wine is not your preference. Many of the wines are offered by the glass. I had the 9oz Cave Springs Cellars Riesling. It was very good. Our server was pleasant and attentive, once she took our order. However, it took an unusually long time for her to return after presenting the menu. My wife and I had the Charcuterie board. It was an extensive collection of all things good; meats, cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, olives, crackers and condiments. It was plenty for two, and served as our meal. We finished with a shared serving of the Tiramisu. It was outstanding, one of the better ones I've had. The three-star rating is for the atmosphere and ambience. There was on particular guest that was there to watch the football game on the only television there. He was rude, loud, noisy and continually hurled four-letter curse words at the screen, turning this sophisticated wine bar into a sports bar. Mr. Van Edom did nothing to discourage this behavior. I'm sorry, but if you're the sole proprietor of an establishment, you need to learn the skills to deal with "rowdy" guests in an appropriate manner. His behavior detracted from our enjoyment on our first visit. read more

I was staying in Knoxville for a night, and this was the first place that popped up when I searched for wine bar. And I'm so glad I didn't scroll any further. I sat at the bar, since I was alone. The owner actually came over and we had a great conversation! You could tell by his knowledge of wine and the expression on his face that he was very passionate about this business and making customers feel welcome. Food delicious, wine offerings are top notch and I normally can't stand beer but the owner let me sample a few Belgium beers and I actually loved them, I can't overstate what a surprise this was, as I've always hated beer (I know I'm an odd ball!)
