We popped in here after hiking at Haw Ridge Park with our pups. It was just a short drive down the road and there was ample parking. The building is great! Lots of seating options, open and airy. There were pups galore and some kiddos. Lots of TVs to watch the game if that's your thing. They have a food truck calendar, so if you know your fav you can plan the night to come accordingly. We didn't try the food as we only came for the brew. Loved the offered a taste before you buy. I saw some flights going out as well. I loved my Spicy Pineapple Sour! It was dangerously good, I was even out pacing my hubby LOL. He liked his IPA. They even had a cool area with a fun mocktail menu if you want to enjoy sipping with out tippin' over at the end. Really fun atmosphere, the rotating taps give you something new to try with their regular faves. The food truck rotation makes it so you can spend longer just drinking and hanging out. The only con is it's loud. Having a conversation can be a little difficult at times. They need some sort of dampening, but we come here semi regularly and enjoy. read more

We stopped at Orange Hat Brewing because they let dogs inside and we had a great time! It is nice inside, with plenty of seating, and they also have a really cute outdoor seating area. I've been to the Cherry St. location 6-7 times and service was good. However, on 29 June (Monday) we arrived around 4:50. Our plan was to sit at the bar, have a beer, and order Pizza from the adjacent Baker Boy's for the first time, and have another beer while waiting. Well, there were 6 bar stools at the bar. Two seats were occupied (1 was a regular - possibly a Baker Boy employee). All of the tables were empty. There were 3-4 people standing. One of those standing put a laptop and backpack at the end of the bar and said he'd be back later. The 4 empty bar stools all had empty glasses at them. The 3-4 people walked out, leaving only 2 bar stools occupied. I sat at one of the stools, and was told that the stool was occupied, as the people leaving would be back later, and "the girl" lived just a block or two away, and she'd probably be back. So, neither of us could be accommodated at the 4 empty stools as the previous customers might be back. When? Twenty minutes? An hour? (Wonder what they were up to when they left?). So we each had a beer, ordered take-out from Baker Boys, and sat at one of the vacant tables and waited. We were so irritated we didn't order another round of beers. Reminds me of a cruise ship - people come to the pool deck at 8:00 a.m., put a towel on a beach chair to reserve it, and come back after lunch to use it - leaving the seat "occupied" half the day. I've not seen a bar that "saves" seats for customers who leave and come back later. The Pizza was great, and we'll probably order from Baker Boys again as an alternate to our favorite pizzeria, but we won't sit in Orange Hat and have a beer while waiting. I doubt I'll return to Orange Hat, instead will patronize the much closer (3 blocks) Ricky's Bar. This was the first time at Orange Hat I've ever felt unwelcome and mistreated, but I learn from experience and won't give them another chance to do the same. read more

We were at Orange Hat on the day of a game. Even though it was crowded service was excellent. I even got a "Go Giants" in reference to my hat. The place itself was clean and neat which I like in a brewery. You want a bar you go to a bar. The beer was excellent. I literally just had one of my favorite beers ever at this brewery! Orange sweet nothin. Im not sure how such a beautiful hoppy beer can taste so much like an orange creamsicle but WOW!!! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. We had a quick app of deviled eggs. (My wife's favorite) which was amazing. The food i saw coming from the kitchen looked great but we elected to have a couple beers and move to next brewery but this one topped the list for the day! Only negative is that shade of orange. The food was very limited and overpriced in only a single taco food truck in the parking lot. Meh. $8 for queso and terrible chips! You have to order at the truck, then go inside and get in line again for a beer, get a table (there is outdoor seating in a side patio), then your pager tells you to return to the parking lot to pick up your food order. Ugh! Then your hands are full of food and you cannot open the door to get back inside. The beer was cold and good but not worth the price and hassle. Parking lot is difficult because there's limited parking due to a crowded gym in the same complex. Plus, you can only get in/out at one exit in the parking lot) lots of cars circling for a parking spot). read more

While cruising around the Hardin Valley area, my hubby and I stumbled across this find. What a cool vibe this place has. We immediately walked up to the bar area and told the wait staff it was our first time. He WELCOMED us and immediately started to explain their selections and offered samples of anything that interested us. Fair selection of brews. I chose LIVE at Ryman, hubby chose "865 Pilsner" something a little lighter. We ordered a tasty burger and pork nachos from their food truck "The COLLAB", both prepared to our liking. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for some afternoon drinks. We happened to be in Knoxville for the day and I was trying to find a place that was open before 3 or 4 PM whenever Orange Hat Brewing came up on Yelp and so we headed on over. Its located in an unassuming strip mall but is quite large inside. The ceiling is a couple of stories up and it has an industrial feel to it with the exposed ductwork and long hanging Edison bulbs. The bar is in the front whenever you walk in and their brewing area is in the back. Beyond that they had plenty of seating at picnic tables, high top tables, regular tables and even some couches too. There were a bunch of games to play including a large connect 4 and a bunch of board games but due to covid 19, we didn't play any. Finally there was a nice outdoor seating area complete with string lights but Tropical Storm Beta conspired against us sitting there. On this day, as I often do at new breweries, I decided to go for a flight. At Orange Hat Brewing Company that consists of 4 beers of your choosing and I went with the Easy Lies IPA, live @ the RYEman, The real Slim shandy and finally the Manifest West West Coast IPA. I started out with the RYEMan and thought it tasted quite good with some caramel notes on first sip and after a few more I started to get more of the rye. For my second taster, I went with the real slim shandy which was bright and lemony and everything I would expect out of a shandy. Up third was the Easy Lies IPA which was hoppy from start to finish and may actually have been too hoppy for my tastes, especially on the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Manifest West which was a bright and citrusy IPA. The hops are there but the citrus makes sure that they aren't overwhelming and provides for a nice tasting beer. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Orange Hat Brewing Company has a nice space and their beers are good too. read more

Even though a line grew while we were ordering, we were never rushed to make a choice in our drink selection. Outside there is a cute patio area with corn hole set up. They serve food outside by food truck. I believe Mondays and Tuesdays are rotating food trucks which are listed on their website, otherwise it's their food truck. I read the reviews before hand and got the pulled pork nachos because they seemed to be popular. They were ok. My husband got a cheeseburger which he liked. We were advised the fries are pretty salty so we asked for less salt and they were seasoned on point. The beer selection at the time was decent. I ordered the blimey sour which was a true sour and was a popular choice by our group. My husband tried a flight and thought it was good but nothing crazy special. I really enjoyed the Taylor swift trivia, so that was really fun! The tacos and the drinks were very expensive compared to other spots though, with it being 15-20$ for 3 tacos, and around 8-12 for a drink with no prices listed on the main menu. The beef tacos were also not the best... but the chicken ones were good! The drinks were also mid for the price, especially when compared to Xul or Abridged. Finally a full-blown brewery in West Knoxville! Soft opening had 6 excellent beers on tap, plus a Nitro cold brew coffee and a kombucha. An awesome Stout, an excellent Porter, and a few more to round out the taps today. Looks like they will have up to 24 in the near future. Cool soft industrial space with lots of glass, and a huge garage door that will open for the warmer weather. Parking is good, and food trucks are likely going to be present frequently. Came in during the soft opening. Tried the Knoxville Common, my wife ordered the Live at the Ryeman, which was excellent (I am not typically a stout or porter fan). However they were having issues with the system and needed some time to work on it, so instead of making us wait he brought over the porter as a free beer. Excellent service! We tried the food truck out front, called Steak me home tonight, great name. The cheese steaks were pretty good but I made the mistake of ordering mine with the beer cheese sauce, wasn't bad but really messed up the cheese steak itself. As a first timer, my wife and were impressed. This place occupies the corner of a very big building. Hence, it's a very large corner. It has very high ceilings, concrete floors and glass garage doors. The whole thing is very spacious, very bright and has an industrial rustic atmosphere. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor space, with a small performing stage in back (Outside). They brew their beer here, and had a wide variety. I had the 865 Pilsner which was good, but slightly bitter for my taste. There's a food truck outside where we ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and pulled pork nachos. The nachos were excellent. They had beer cheese, pico de Gallo, fresh sliced jalapeños and guacamole. I opted out of the BBQ sauce and sour cream. There was more than enough to share, although I polished off most of it as my lunch. Overall, it was a really nice neighborhood type place to stop by. read more
