Xul Beer on trivia night (Tuesday) is a whole vibe--super crowded but still plenty of seating, which was nice. The food truck burger always hits, but heads up: they stop taking orders at 8:30 PM. One of our friends came late and missed out, so plan accordingly. Drink lines can get long, but they move fast and the staff handles it well. I got the PB&J blackberry and it never disappoints. We must have arrived at the right moment because we could ask questions and no pressure to hurry up. I selected a flight, and my daughter got an IPA. We were also interested in their merch. They have a great sticker selection. I got a glass as well. She got a shirt. We both were surprised at some top tier brews. Later, there was a line so we had to wait to get the merch, by then we did not care. I'd give it a 5 if not for the parking mishap. So, we parked all the way in back, and while inside that bit of the lot was padlocked shut. The food truck guy gave us attitude and said we were stuck. This place has the best sours I've ever had! AMAZING. And the service was very friendly, answered any questions, and was prompt. Loved their menu. You can also order small pours or flights to try a bunch. Everything I had was unique and fun. They also get new stuff seasonally so there's always something fun and new to try. Try the PB and J sour if you want something unique and flavorful. That is their best seller. I personally loved the contraband and could drink that always, which has favors of strawberry, cucumber, orange zest, and lime. Okay have I just found my new favorite hang spot?! If you're into local unique breweries, good vibes, meeting new friends, & heavy metal...then this is also YOUR favorite new spot! The staff was super fast to take our orders and friendly even when I asked for change for $100...twice (sorry, thank you!). There is plenty of seating for all comfort levels and physical abilities as well as private restrooms with shared sinks. If you run out of seats indoors, there is a separate seating area in the back and the outdoor tables by the food truck. I was highly impressed by our burgers and fries from the food truck; they were freshly made to order and they text you when they're ready. Xul Beer, how do I love you? Let me count the ways.....wait, there are not enough numbers to count that high! Shoutout to our out-of-state friend, Sean who turned us on to Xul for their PB&J Mixtape. It was love at first sip. After trying it, I was obsessed, and was sad to learn that other than at the brewery, finding it in the wild was going to be like hunting for a four leaf clover! It's started showing up on tap at some of our favorite eateries and bars, but the keg doesn't last long. If you're looking for cans to enjoy at home, the way to get them is at Xul when they offer them for one day only a couple times a year. Been lucky enough to attend a Xul PB&J Mixtape day to stock up. Just this past weekend was an annual PB&J Mixtape Day. So many flavors, such camaraderie in line, including doggos. Food trucks, merch, kettle corn and more rounded out the day. The staff was amazing and helpful and made for a great experience. It's also fun to visit the brewery even when it's NOT Mixtape Day, as they always (I hope?) have a PB&J or so on tape. Xul is one of our favorite breweries in Knoxville. They have a great selection of beers, the ambiance is casual and relaxed, and their service is friendly and attentive. While the don't serve food, they have the same food truck most of the time which has really good burgers and fries. One of my favorite beers is PB&J Mixtape which tastes just like a PB&J Uncrustable. Xul Beer has several beers i like very much especially Paper Crown and Toro y oso brews. It is a clean and comfortable facility. The staff is courteous and friendly. The only complaint I have is that the background music is WAY TOO LOUD. The music volume so loud that it makes having a conversation without shouting. Xul has a modern bar vibe. I ordered the Abridged Burger at the food truck right outside the door. The Smash burgers are outstanding and a change of pace from the sit down restaurant by Abridged. The beer selection is excellent with multiple hazy IPA's. The Mexican lager was very good as well. FYI the food truck buzzers are limited to the bar area as the pinball area is out of reach. Vibes are very relaxed and the bartenders are super nice. I'm someone who really likes sours, and Xul has sours, but they tend to be on the sweeter side. One of my absolute favorite breweries. Have made detours off my route just to visit and have some of their amazing beers. If you haven't had them, Xul's main draw is their sours (at least to me). They tend to be sweeter sours, so if you like them mouth-puckeringly sour, prepare for something different. Every sour I've had has been good, but the PB&J Mixtape one of the best things I've ever drank. Tastes like a liquid PB&J. Really wish they canned it year-round as we're not local and can't get cans when we visit. Patio is dog friendly and they supply water bowls. Interior is HUGE. Vinny made my girlfriend cry. Now that I've got your attention, Vinny was by far my favorite person I've ever had a run in with here at xul. This dude was as charismatic as could be and really made our experience better as a whole. Even though the very first few seconds were a little bumpy (the said girlfriend tried to get his attention when he was taking care of someone else and he playfully shushed her) he ended up being the highlight of our time there. He went out his way to make sure she had a wonderful rest of her night. So long story short, if you ever get the pleasure of ordering with Vinny at xul, make sure to tip him well. I love Xul! This brewery has a really cool vibe and an awesome selection of different beers. I've been a few times, but last night was probably my favorite. I tried a PB & J sour and it was delicious! It sounds strange, but it was the most unique beer I've ever had. I normally don't like sours, but this one is sweet and full of flavor. I highly recommend giving it a try. I also love that the Abridged food truck is now here full time. It's definitely my favorite burger in Knoxville! I drink ciders and sours mostly, so I was excited to try Xul's PBJ mixtape and Color Me Gecko. Both were very delicious. The PBJ Mixtape had a strong peanut butter flavor that coats your whole mouth. It was just like having a spoonful of peanut butter! Plus the sweetness comes from a jelly fruity flavor! I also liked the Color Me Gecko. It was a fruity cheesecake flavor.
