Best beer IPA's I've had in Knoxville while visiting. That being said, the brewery was so dirty. I love dogs but there's about a month's worth of dog hair on the floors. Fortunately not in my beer. Next to us a dog actually jumped up on the table. It really was the dirtiest brewery I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). The bartender was super friendly. I'll come back for the great beer but definitely wish it was more cleaned up...to finish with a positive...best IPA's in Knoxville!

Great , unique beers. Low key. Relax with friends. Kinda divey but that just adds to the experience! We love stopping here when staying in Knoxville.

Tessalation IPA. Delicious.

A nice little brewery! Dog-friendly and very bicycle friendly with plenty of bike racks and tire pumps outside. Great beer selection and they even gave us some free stickers since stopped by visiting from Indiana while headed to vacation in SC.

And my favorite, the Apricot Earl Grey Tea beer. Fruity pop up front, smooth tea finish. I could drink these all day until I fell over...lol

Coming from Gainesville Florida area, we were curious. There's a business IN Gainesville itself called Crafty Bastards Pub & Bottle Shop. They even use almost the exact same logo! Since we were going thru Knoxville anyways, we decided to stop and check them out. IF YOU LOVE CRAFT BEER, YOU ARE DOING YOURSELF AN INJUSTICE IF YOU DON'T GO THERE! Put it on your bucket list, whatever you need to do! I'm telling you, not only do they have some of THE BEST brewed craft beer on tap, but Crowlers filled with whatever you decide was your favorite! They had an Apricot/Earl Grey Tea that I instantly fell in love with. They have IPAs, sours, lagers, stouts, porters, any and every kind/style of craft beer you're itching to pour in your glass! Unbelievable they took a run down closed up building and turned it into such a great place for locals to gather...AND GATHER they do! There was barely space for us to park our butts down on one of the long benches with tables, but I'm in no ways complaining! It almost forces you to talk with your "bench-mates"! And did we ever! Met TONS of people originally from Florida, but who, like myself, feel drawn to Tennessee. I lived there once before for about 5-7 years and I still feel the draw. What an amazing place with simply amazing people! Plus, they give you a schedule of which and what food truck will be outside every day and basically what they serve. While we were there, the crépe truck was outside. Wish we hadn't eaten a ton before we got there: I would've LOVED to have their crépes!! So, in closing...I'll just say that they have some of the CRAZIEST beers (their Hawaiian Bbq), some of their local collaborations for seemingly unrelated ingredients (their Apricot/Earl Grey tea) and many fabulous local favorites as well. If you're even passing through Knoxville, headed somewhere else entirely...you'd be completely mad to not stop and at least take a sip! Oh!! I realized I forgot to mention two amazing things. Oh my God. How could I have blundered into this place and fail to mention that they were playing actual REAL lp's? You know, VINYL records? 33's? Albums? Great collection too I might add! AND?? Everybody brings their dogs! Gorgeous pooches!! Big breed poodles, Huskies, mutts and little dogs...young and old alike, just the most amazing mixture of people and dogs. (I hate to admit it, but I was guilty of talking to the dogs more than the people! Lol)

This spot was walking distance from the Airbnb I stayed at. I order the Mayan Chocolate Porter and my partner had the Candy Monster. I always choose a porter style beer, this one in particular is definitely a must have. I enjoy spicy food, so to have a cocoa flavored beer with hits on chile pepper is great for my taste buds!

Knoxville's nickname is the Scruffy City. And honestly, when I think about what that means - I think of this place. It's a scruffy, low-key place to chill out. I would say they have the most interesting combinations of beers in all of Knoxville. This is not necessarily my kind of place, but I'm glad Knoxville has a place like this.

Taste like refreshing tea beer. Amazing. Cool place too !!! Good rock vibe , friendly service , old brick building. Chill atmosphere and they have some guest beers as well

One of my go to breweries when in knox! Has some really nice and creative selections, though the menu is not extensive. Located in the old city, Crafty has that industrial, casual, come as you are vibe. The place is filled with parlor games which creates a great environment for group. We got a milk stout (nice and creamy and chocolatey), chili pepper IPA, nitro brew, and a spicy ginger ale. Everyone was into their drink! Another cool thing about crafty is the ever changing food truck selection outside. Everyday a different food truck is featured. Personally this is very appreciated - so many breweries have no food options, and it's really nice that crafty has at least a little something. So, all in all, if you're looking for some good beer and a cool, casual place to hang out Crafty Bastard is a solid option!

Lots of basic seating

Nice outdoor area with plenty of seating and atmosphere appropriate setting for an easy going time. Our neighbors were quite loud rehearsing stories detailed so well we suddenly wished social distancing was 60ft! Should've expected as much for a place like this - not fair to rate places on their customers! The staff was very friendly and quick to recommend items which almost made up for the difficult to read menu and near-indecipherable presentation of food options. I tried the tap sour infused with hot sauce, milk stout, and took home a can of Thai tea IPA. Only the hot sour impressed, a vibrant spark of tuneful heat hitting all the right notes from start to finish. Can't say the same for the Thai IPA or milk stout, neither had serious flaws but at these prices offered bland flavors without the unique Thai essence coming thru or milk stout richness giving that lovely full body. The milk stout actually brought on a quite unpleasant aftertaste with each sip. For dropping north of $12 for three small drinks difficult to want a second round, seems this nice city hotspot is better for other types than me.

Great beer! And I absolutely love the feel and spirit of this no-frills Knoxville brewery. On any given pre-COVID day, you'd find people and dogs inside and out relaxing at picnic tables. Folks are reading, talking, and at ease. I've been to meet friends, hang out with the wife, or just to read a book over a couple beers. It's walkable and bike-able from downtown and north Knox and really feels like part of the community. Such a loss when COVID put a stop/pause to those gatherings (thanks for being safe, Crafty) but we've stopped by for crowlers and have been impressed with how well the beer travels. AND THEN, they started offering delivery - WITH A SONG!!! So great! Crafty recreated its easy, fun atmosphere right on our front walkway. Really impressed with their creativity and commitment to the community and their patrons through this crisis.

Beers and the spot/space are good. Be advised, don't ask questions about the beer to the staff. They don't like that.

Vinny is the kind of bartender who makes you question whether you came for a drink or accidentally bought tickets to a comedy show. Within five minutes, he had us laughing harder than we expected to in a brewery. He's got this perfectly chaotic, eccentric energy--like if a stand-up comedian and a craft beer encyclopedia merged into one person. One second he's passionately explaining the notes of a hazy IPA, and the next he's roasting your drink choice in the most charming way possible. What really makes Vinny stand out is how he reads the room. He somehow knows exactly when to crack a joke, when to hype up a beer, and when to just vibe with you like you've been friends for years. It never feels forced--it's just who he is. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that energy spreads to everyone around him. Also, let's be clear: the beer recommendations? Elite. Vinny doesn't miss. Even if you walk in saying, "I don't really like beer," he'll hand you something that makes you rethink your entire personality. Between the incredible beer at Xul and Vinny's unmatched personality, this place is dangerously easy to stay at way longer than you planned. Came for one drink, stayed for three... and honestly, probably would've stayed for five if Vinny hadn't jokingly told us to "go home and hydrate." 10/10 experience. Vinny, if you see this--never change.

Had Vinny as my waiter and he was the BEST! Great experience! It had great drinks and great food!read more

I was in Knoxville with some friends and we decided to check out Last Days of Autumn Brewing - the storefront is a bit sketchy but don't let that fool you - the taproom is larger than it appears from the street. You walk through to reach the bar towards the back of the room. We decided on some flights to sample what was being offered. I had: * Young Nathan Jr Bitter - Session/Ordinary 4.9% ABV - Malty roasty body, well balanced sweet malt to hoppy finish note of chocolate. Fairly easy drinking. 3.8/5 * 94 Accord Pale Ale - American 4.5% ABV - Citrus notes with a somewhat bitter hoppy finish, great lacing. 3.5/5 * Oracle 25 (Galena) Pale Ale - American 5.5% ABV - Very easy drinks lager, light body with rice? I'd imagine it would be great with food as it's very neutral. 3/5 * Six Gun Sound Porter - English 4.5% ABV - Fruity medium body bitter, citrus and herbal notes with a hard stop finish. Well balanced, not much sweet malt to speak of. 3.5/5 Overall I felt like the beer was competently made but very directed towards the neighbors, that from the look of the place, were frequent visitors.
