Always great food and consistent good service. The vibe is a mix of semi casual and formal all in one. Tonight we visited for Easter specials. The crab fingers were great, slightly seasoned with drawn butter. The spinach artichoke dip is always great and served with house fried chips. The chop steak is fresh ground daily in house. It normally comes with bell peppers and onions but I'm not a pepper girly. Their steak fries are baked potato wedges that are flash fried crisp which is better than frozen fries. The steak special was the 28oz bone in ribeye that is also cut fresh daily. It originally comes with balsamic onions and a blue cheese butter, but we opted for no onions and swapped for Worcestershire butter and had it with the spicy spinach Mac and cheese. Eating at the bar once again; Abby is the best bartender they have here at Copper Cellar. She is always working and never leaves you waiting for service. Our first night in town and it was Valentine's Day. This place looked very romantic so went to see if we could get in. They were very crowded and the wait was going to be 40 min however while ordering a drink one of the first come first serve bar tables opened up so we just sat at a bar table instead. Service was very good even with it being very busy. My husband had the french onion soup as an appetizer and it was very good. I had the shrimp chesapeake for dinner and it was a heavenly experience. Yesterday after running some errands, we decided to go to Copper Cellar for lunch. My biggest complaint about Copper Cellar is that there's only one ramp on the other side of the parking lot to get on the sidewalk. After we ordered, they brought us freshly baked sourdough bread. I thought the bread had a strong sourdough taste and was incredibly soft. For my meal, I ordered Maryland Crab Cakes and they were served with one side and I decided to go with blue cheese grits. The crab cakes had a beautiful golden brown crust and were incredibly lumpy. I thought the grits were very creamy and had a mild blue cheese flavor. I highly recommend trying the crab cakes with the grits. My mom chose the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad and she loved it. My dad got the chicken salad sandwich with fries and he thought it was good. Refuses to substitute even if allergic. Don't eat the salad. None of it is washed. When you ask for unseasoned, you find it seasoned and they wanna argue. My only suggestion, don't eat there and the waiter or waitress knows you're not happy. They will leave your food in front of you until you're ready to walk out the door. I have been a customer multiple times and have recently been harassed by Mike Chase (the owner). I went in last weekend with my husband and Mike Chase was drunk and called me a horrible disgusting name. The bartenders apologized on his behalf. I met my family there this evening hoping not to encounter him but he (Mike Chase) showed up drunk and yelled at me and my family that if I didn't like the names he called me, we were to get out or he'd call the police. I do not recommend anyone to visit his establishments especially if you are a woman. I have also witnessed him telling a black man that they don't allow his kind in there. Amazing service and amazing food. We ordered the crab bisque, calamari, side salad, filet and lobster with potatoes, and they bring you fresh bread with homemade butter. Everything we had was so fresh and rich with flavor! The calamari had a creamy mustard sauce as well as a marinara. It was delicious but it was kinda rich so couldn't eat too much of it. But definitely different than sauce we've had in the past. The lobster was so big, fresh, and succulent! The drawn butter really topped it off! My husband ate the potatoes. I just came here for a late lunch and was super impressed. We got there and I was like "what the..." it's the type of place that hasn't been re modeled or touched since it opened & totally retro! We moved here from NYC about a month ago and my mom gave us a gift card for a meal here for my birthday back in July after hearing it was good, and we finally got to using it! Everybody from NYC says to us "you'll never find good food down there" -- they are wrong! And so ignorant. We each had a steak. I had filet mignon with Bernaise sauce and my husband had the Boursin cheese stuffed steak. Both were delicious and cooked absolutely perfectly. We also split an appetizer of mozzarella sticks, which our waitress suggested and they were also so yummy and fresh. Their bread was fresh, soft, and warm. Even the sides (fries; tomatoes with feta) were worth taking in our doggy bag. I am in my 33rd week of pregnancy and was starving but they didn't skimp on portions so I was able to still take food home! Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and wonderful. She looked after us and we were never left with an empty glass or a dirty plate etc. we can't wait to return and bring fam/friends as well as try Calhouns on the River. The outside of the restaurantis a very generic brick buiding, which I have driven past a dozwn times and never noticed. The interior is dark and cozy. Like most steakhouses, it has a lot of dark wood and bottles of wine visible. The ceiling is very dark with small lights, giving the illusion if dining under the stars. I was greeted immediately at the host by 2 employees and asked which restaurant I was dining in. To the left is the steakhouse and to the right is italian. All of the staff interaction was pleasant and helpful. Until the food arrived, I would've rated the restaurant at a 4. I started with fried mushrooms, they were very greasy and not very flavorful. The mushrooms had the textures of older mushrooms. The dip that comes with it is a mustard-mayonaisse concoction. I am not a big mustard fan, and wasn't a fan of the sauce. For my entree, I decided to try the alehouse steak, which is marinated sirloin in a soy sauce, garlic, red wine, Worcestershire sauce. I also tried the seasonal side of acorn squash with a butter, brown sugar sauce. The steak was cooked how I like it, but was pretty tough and the sauce made it taste very salty and a bit bitter, which is strange to me, because I use a similar marinade on my steaks at home, although I do use low sodium soy sauce. The acorn squash could have also been baked a bit longer to infuse the flavor more and make it more tender. You also get bread, which was another highlight. It was crisp on the outside and tender inside, I just which the butter wouldn't have been cold from the fridge. With just a few tweaks, this could be a great restaurant, but for the amount you pay for a meal, I would've expected the flavors to be more on point. I will probably give it another try in the future, because of the ambiance and staff. read more

This restaurant is easy to overlook, in an unassuming building between West Town Mall and The Gallery Shopping Center. It's unique because it's two restaurants in one - Copper Cellar on the left side of the building, and Cappuccino's on the right side. I met a friend for dinner on the Copper Cellar side. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday night, but we quickly realized that was because they have half priced bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Once we knew that, of course we had to share a bottle! We started with an appetizer of fried mushrooms & cauliflower. Really good! For dinner, I chose the crab cake sandwich, with home-grown sliced tomatoes as my side. I also had a house salad to start. Copper Cellar's salads and homemade dressings are stellar! My friend ordered the halibut that was on special, along with Neve's potatoes. Everything was so good, and service was great too.
