In town for a business meeting and we ended the day here. A great dining experience for our group of five. Our server, Rebecca, was very attentive and knew the menu and her profession well. She made suggestions, kept our beverages filled, and checked on us throughout the evening. I ordered the prime rib and was disappointed that medium rare and above was my choice for doneness and found the meat a little dryer than I would like but it was still good. There are several side choices and I landed on a baked potato. In retrospect, I should have chosen the Nan's potatoes. (There's always next time!) We have been going to Copper Celler probably for as long as they have been in business. I think it's pretty safe to say that not only has it been one of my parents, favorite restaurants throughout my life, I've always enjoyed it too. We were disappointed when they closed their original location, but we have tried to be supportive of this location, and my mom has always liked cappuccino. It's a cool idea to have two restaurants and one with two different menus. We had a disappointing experience. The restaurant was not particularly busy looking, so it was odd that it shook so long for our wine and drinks to come out. We ordered salads, specifying. We wanted them as soon as they were ready, and then we ordered entrées at the same time. Our salads came out, which took more time than seemed necessary, and before we could even start eating them, our entrees came out. The runner who brought her entrées, seemed confused as to why we weren't ready for our entrées. As we didn't have enough room on the table, we asked them to take our entrées back until we finished our salads. Our server, who seemed very pleasant, never came to check on us until after our entrees were brought out a second time & never mentioned the error with the pacing. Our fish was on the dry side, which could probably be attributed to the fact that it went back to the kitchen and sat under a warming lamp. We had a great time, because why would we let dinner spoil our evening, and we'll be back because I believe in supporting copper cellar, but I don't know that first time guests, or non-loyal guests would be willing to overlook an expensive meal that wasn't treated like it was expensive by the kitchen or wait staff. My daughter had a house salad, and I don't know how you make croutons have so much flavor but they are literally the best croutons I've ever had the delight to experience. The service was great. Yesterday after running some errands, we decided to go to Copper Cellar for lunch. My biggest complaint about Copper Cellar is that there's only one ramp on the other side of the parking lot to get on the sidewalk. After we ordered, they brought us freshly baked sourdough bread. I thought the bread had a strong sourdough taste and was incredibly soft. For my meal, I ordered Maryland Crab Cakes and they were served with one side and I decided to go with blue cheese grits. The crab cakes had a beautiful golden brown crust and were incredibly lumpy. I thought the grits were very creamy and had a mild blue cheese flavor. I highly recommend trying the crab cakes with the grits. My mom chose the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad and she loved it. My dad got the chicken salad sandwich with fries and he thought it was good. Always great food and consistent good service. The vibe is a mix of semi casual and formal all in one. Tonight we visited for Easter specials. The crab fingers were great, slightly seasoned with drawn butter. The spinach artichoke dip is always great and served with house fried chips. The chop steak is fresh ground daily in house. It normally comes with bell peppers and onions but I'm not a pepper girly. Their steak fries are baked potato wedges that are flash fried crisp which is better than frozen fries. The steak special was the 28oz bone in ribeye that is also cut fresh daily. It originally comes with balsamic onions and a blue cheese butter, but we opted for no onions and swapped for Worcestershire butter and had it with the spicy spinach Mac and cheese. Our first night in town and it was Valentine's Day. This place looked very romantic so went to see if we could get in. They were very crowded and the wait was going to be 40 min however while ordering a drink one of the first come first serve bar tables opened up so we just sat at a bar table instead. Service was very good even with it being very busy. My husband had the french onion soup as an appetizer and it was very good. I had the shrimp chesapeake for dinner and it was a heavenly experience. My only suggestion, don't eat there and the waiter or waitress knows you're not happy. They will leave your food in front of you until you're ready to walk out the door. He recently found out she is married, and he called her a nasty name last 2 times she was there. I have been a customer multiple times and have recently been harassed by Mike Chase (the owner). I went in last weekend with my husband and Mike Chase was drunk and called me a horrible disgusting name. The bartenders apologized on his behalf. I met my family there this evening hoping not to encounter him but he (Mike Chase) showed up drunk and yelled at me and my family that if I didn't like the names he called me, we were to get out or he'd call the police. Everything we had was so fresh and rich with flavor! The calamari had a creamy mustard sauce as well as a marinara. It was delicious but it was kinda rich so couldn't eat too much of it. But definitely different than sauce we've had in the past. The lobster was so big, fresh, and succulent! The drawn butter really topped it off! My husband ate the potatoes. I just came here for a late lunch and was super impressed. We got there and I was like "what the..." it's the type of place that hasn't been re modeled or touched since it opened & totally retro! We moved here from NYC about a month ago and my mom gave us a gift card for a meal here for my birthday back in July after hearing it was good, and we finally got to using it! Everybody from NYC says to us "you'll never find good food down there" -- they are wrong! And so ignorant. We each had a steak.
