This place exceeded my expectations for fine dining! The restaurant was very clean and very nicely decorated! You feel like you're in a modern cabin kinda vibe. Service was excellent! We ordered a bit of everything: Ribeye, Brussels sprouts, some of their specialty desserts...everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend if you're in the Knoxville area!

Our party of four ate at Fire Smoke recently. It was our first visit, and we came away very impressed. Decision to dine here was made sort of last minute, so we didn't have a reservation. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened and were seated in the bar area. First off, the restaurant is beautifully decorated. It's on the small side and feels very cozy and intimate. Our server was amazing in guiding us through the menu. We all started with cocktails which were so good! For entrees, I had the salmon, and others had the fillet, roasted chicken and the pork chop. It was all delicious!

Service was amazing, thank you Joe. The food was 10/10! I've never had a better steak than at this steak house... and the pork belly, I could eat that everyday

Ate at Fire + Smoke tonight. You definitely need a reservation and this is an upscale restaurant. The steaks were excellent with a good seasoning, moist, and cooked to order. The steak fries are a little too salty, and left in the oil a little long, but had great flavor and were filling. It was my wife and I on one ticket and our two friends on their own ticket. With dinner, an appetizer, and alcoholic beverages our total with gratuity was about $250. Follow me on Yelp for more to see and do and eat in Knoxville and the East Tennessee area.

Date night with my hubby, so wanted to try this newer place. Absolutely awesome! Nice dining area, but not a huge place. The service is great. The food is absolutely delicious! The North Carolina trout was perfectly seasoned and grilled. One of the best fish I've ever eaten, for real. Sides are all delicious, especially the mushrooms and mashed potatoes. We finished with a gluten free torte, yum! Excellent, high quality food, with thought and care put into it. Totally recommend!!! Can't wait to go back!!

A great first-time experience. The front of the restaurant is misleading because of its small strip shopping center location. However, upon entering, it reveals itself as a dark, warm, tasteful, classy, and romantic space. Their wine list is extensive, although not much by the glass is offered. The Wednesday special made ordering a bottle a much better deal, though. We had the Justin Cabernet sauvignon. The menu is very well-rounded with plenty to offer; of course, steak is their specialty, so that's what we ordered. The filet mignon is only offered at eight oz., and the menu prices are very high, so we split our meal. Our server provided outstanding and attentive service throughout. He readily accommodated our split meal by having the salad prepared on two different plates and providing us with an additional plate to split the main course (without having to ask). We had the Fire+Smoke salad, the 8oz filet (medium), and a side of rustic mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts. Their specialty salad was perfect. The steak was amazing. Every last bite was delicious. And the sides were a perfect compliment to the meal. Overall, it's a notable place for a great meal but also very expensive.

Our first time to Fire & Smoke for our anniversary last night. Our server, Mary, was absolutely wonderful!! The food was delicious. We started with the homemade bread, which was to die for. There are spreads that pair perfectly with each bread. The fire and smoke salad was amazing!! Our entrees were sea bass and American Wagyu, the filet was like butter. Ended with the Creme Brûlée cheesecake that was to die for. Absolutely will be back and highly recommend to anyone. Very intimate place l, great for a date night.

It was about 3:00 and the restaurant was on a 45 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and have an appetizer while we waited for our table. They were unusually busy because of college graduations. We had a shrimp appetizer which was recommended by the bartender. It was delicious! It had the right amount of spice for us. Our table was ready right as we finished our appetizer. The hostess was very polite and asked us if we were celebrating anything special.. We were promptly greeted by our server Elisabeth who was wonderful. She told us the specials and inquired if it was our first visit. We ordered the espresso rubbed ribeye w/ a baked potato & Caesar salad. We decided to share a steak and ordered an extra wedge salad. Everything was delicious. The steak was a perfect medium. The butter that is served with the bread is heavenly. I was thrilled with my Caesar salad that had anchovies on top. My wedge salad was amazing. This was one of the best steaks we have ever had. We would highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner. 5 ask for Elisabeth if you want a wonderful dining experience!

OMG, the food was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection with homemade Boursin cheese. The Sea Bass was probably the best fish dish I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, crab and grilled asparagus was just delicious. The Asiago creamed spinach and the rice pilaf were both excellent as well. The rice was different than any I've ever had. It had dried blueberries, red peppers, onions and pepitas in it. Absolutely delicious. Glad we saved room for dessert. German Chocolate cake was just as good as everything else. Not Watson's? More Like... Not Worth It…read more Sometimes in life you have to listen to that inner voice. The one that quietly nudges you in another direction. The one I ignored today when I chose Not Watson's instead of following my true spirit to the Old City for a vegan tamale that had been pressing on my psyche all morning. But I ignored it. So here we are. This happened Wednesday, March 4, 2026. I was downtown on Market Square for a business meeting. The weather was nice, I had already paid to park, and the craving for fish and chips got the best of me. Not Watson's was close, so it seemed like the logical choice. But when the vibe is off... the vibe is off. Around 1:05 PM there was a line at the door. One party of four, two additional parties of two, and then me -- the solo diner. While we were standing there waiting, two women from one of the parties asked if I was waiting on someone. When I told them no, they kindly invited me to sit with them. A thoughtful gesture. But I declined. Maybe if I had accepted, I might have received better service. Ah yes... the small pitfalls of solo dining. What made things odd was that the place didn't even appear busy. Several different servers came to the front to seat people, but there was no hostess and tables still needed to be cleaned before anyone could sit. I almost left. My instincts were already whispering, go get that tamale instead. But the pull for fish and chips was strong, so I thought, forget it -- I'll wait. When my turn finally came I was asked, "Outside? High-top? Or a table in the back?" Well damn. It felt a little like I was being strategically placed out of sight, so I chose the table in the back. Walking through the restaurant I again noticed it really wasn't busy. Then I sat. And sat. Ten minutes went by with no greeting, no water, no acknowledgment. So I did what anyone would do -- I watched the TV in front of me. At that point the urge to leave was getting stronger, but me being me thought, let me give this another second. That's when a gentleman from the kitchen came over. He introduced himself and said he noticed no one had waited on me yet and didn't want me sitting there hungry, so he took my order. He mentioned my server would come by shortly. Spoiler alert: my server never actually showed up. I later learned my server was also bartending. Eventually my food arrived -- three pieces of fish, fries, and coleslaw (which unfortunately had absolutely no flavor). By this point I was hungry, so I dug in. First problem: the fish was fried way too hard, almost burnt. Second problem: the fries were so salty they could probably raise your blood pressure on sight. But the real issue? The fish had zero taste. None. If the fish had actually tasted good, crispy or otherwise, I probably would have eaten it anyway. But this was like chewing overcooked cardboard. When the gentleman came back, I showed him the fish and he immediately saw the problem. He said he would alert the kitchen. He kindly offered a complimentary dessert (declined) and offered to have the fish and chips remade (also declined). At that point I had lost my appetite. When the check arrived, it was half-price. Now here's where the math didn't quite math. You were willing to remake the entire meal, yet I paid half price for a plate where I ate one piece of fish and a few fries, after spending most of my visit waiting to be acknowledged. So I paid my $9, left a tip, and got the heck out of there. As I was leaving he said, "Hopefully we'll get it right next time." Next time? I left just as hungry as I arrived. The only silver lining of the entire experience was remembering I had half a Butterfinger sitting in my desk drawer back at work. Now that lit me up. Unfortunately, between the awkward service, the overcooked fish, and leaving just as hungry as I came, this is one fish-and-chips stop I won't be revisiting.

We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. I have to state my bias upfront - my favorite French chef in the world is chef Ludo and I have gone to several of his restaurants. I rate every French onion soup to his. The way the restaurant prepares the soup is they put the soup and cheese in the bowl and then drown it in some type of liquor like a cognac or brandy. Then they light the top of the soup on fire, which is supposed to present the melted cheese while at the same time burning off the alcohol. The soup I got tasted so much of alcohol. I could not eat it. And it was a little bit skimpy on the cheese.
