Came here on a Sunday, it had just snowed the night before so the restaurant wasn't super busy, but…read moreit still had a good crowd. We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Walking in it's a narrow restaurant, that has a bar on one side and tables on the other with kinda a rustic feel to it. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. This is a great place for a date if you want good food or to hang out with friends. We will definitely be back.

Well, this was a fun surprise!…read more We were looking for a cool brunch place that we'd never tried before, and although it was outside of town, it was totally worth the Uber. It's ADORABLE. Love the decor and the pretty and interesting atmosphere. Lots of cute little things in this spot. Everything was delicious and the portions were impressive. I was really surprised by this one and highly recommend anyone coming here for a good bite. Server was super sweet and took great care of us; she helped me decide on my order because I was truly so stuck.

Right when we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation. It was our first time, so we didn't realize one was needed. When I said no and asked if we should have had one, the host responded, "Oh, that would have helped." That alone felt a little off-putting. We even offered to come back another time, but she said they had a table available--just that it was reserved for 1:00 PM (it was 11:55). We asked if that meant we'd need to leave by then, and while they tried to reassure us, it definitely set the tone for a rushed experience. We had barely sat down when the waitress immediately asked if we were ready to order. Caught off guard, we asked for water and coffee first. As soon as those arrived, we quickly ordered beignets, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy--trying to be mindful of their time constraint. Unfortunately, our food took over 35 minutes to come out... which didn't align at all with the expectation that we'd be out before 1:00. When it finally arrived, the food was underwhelming at best. The chicken was okay, but the waffles and biscuits and gravy were cold. And the service? Just as cold. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unwelcoming, and disappointing from start to finish. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I truly hope they reconsider how they treat guests--especially first-time visitors who come in excited to try their restaurant.

OMG we loved this place. Sat at the bar and a huge shout out to Raven our bartender / waitress…read more Having service of this level is why we love sitting at the bar. She was on top of everything and had some great conversation. The place was packed but she wasn't rushed. (ask about the tattoo on her leg. LOL) Had a nice bottle of Cahors (French Malbec) which was probably the most reasonable on the wine list. We had Escargot, Mussels and finished with Foie gras (excellent and pretty good side).

We had excellent service from the time we entered the restaurant. We started off with the cheese board. The selection they had of two cow cheeses and one sheep cheese were delicious. My husband had the croak, madame and he said it was average, with the sandwich tasting a little dry. I had the French onion soup. I have to state my bias upfront - my favorite French chef in the world is chef Ludo and I have gone to several of his restaurants. I rate every French onion soup to his. The way the restaurant prepares the soup is they put the soup and cheese in the bowl and then drown it in some type of liquor like a cognac or brandy. Then they light the top of the soup on fire, which is supposed to present the melted cheese while at the same time burning off the alcohol. The soup I got tasted so much of alcohol. I could not eat it. And it was a little bit skimpy on the cheese.

We came on a very busy Saturday night (weekend of Dogwood Festival, theatre night, and prom…read morenight). Thankful to have a reservation, we were promptly seated while others with no reservation were being told three hour wait times. I loved the vibe of Tupelo, the hanging lush green plants on the side of the bustling kitchen, the cheerful staff and the lively music. Lizette was our server and she was just a darling. It was our first time here, and she was so helpful with her all of her recommendations. One of Lizette's favorites was the "Peach, don't kill my vibe" sangria. Which I just loved. I nice mix of peach and pineapple in a sangria. For our mains, we had the grilled harvest chicken and the chicken tenders. Both mains came with two sides. With my grilled harvest chicken, I got the mashed potatoes and the braised bacon green beans. The green beans were to die for, even my hubby was saying he should've ordered that as his side. The harvest chicken I loved--especially the sautéed spinach, red peppers and tomatoes on top. But if you can't handle spicy, this dish does have some heat to it. And we ended my birthday celebration with the heavenly banana pudding. It was heavenly in every way. Made in house, and so delicious that even my hubby ate it and he never cares for this dessert. If I could've licked that little bowl, I would've. We already cannot wait to come back and try some of the brunch items on their menu. We loved everything about Tupelo and hats off to Lizette for making our night even more special!!
