Loaded fries with bacon (half portion)
Brooklyn C.

The fries were the star of the show. Very crisp! We went at 6pm and they were almost full. I tried to order a side of loaded potato soup but she said that honestly it wouldn't be that good because it's old potatoes at the bottom of the pot. I got a side of cottage cheese instead. The burger wasn't bad but those fries were killer!!

Cheeseburger w/ Mac & Cheese!
Mary T.

Today's local treasure is located out in Maryville. Parallel to 129 is a road called Old Niles Ferry Road, and on the corner of that road and Peterson Lane is this special little mom & pop treasure, T.C.'s Grill. They are located in an old gas station with nothing else around them. They have one of the most delicious Cheeseburgers in town, and don't get me started on the Mac & Cheese. They have anything from biscuits and gravy, chef salads, sandwiches and daily specials. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you find your way out in Maryville and are hungry, then go check this place out. 100% worth it and you won't be disappointed. One more to add to my list of Knoxville's Best!

So excited for this new restaurant. This family owned establishment are real heroes that deserve…read moreall our support. It is owned and run by mom, dad and son and the fact they went from food truck to brick and mortar makes them super heroes. The restaurant is small, but very clean and organized. Raven (the Mom )told me they are already working out to have a family friendly bar in the vacant store next to them. The menu has that unique food truck feeling, but with bigger portions. I tried the Famous meatloaf. It was moist and they put their own homade barbque sauce on top. It was offered with two sides and cornbread. I chose the smoked mixed vegetables, which I didn't care for. They were overcooked and under seasoned, but the fried onion rings which were hand batter with a seasoned light coating made me forget the vegetables. My wife got the burnt briskets ends and they were delicious. Her two sides were the smoked macaroni and cheese and fried okra. The Mac and Cheese was definitely Sunday dinner after church deliciousness. The Okra was not frozen but breaded with the same as the onion rings and were crisp full of flavor. The cornbread was a little dense, but really flavorful. Our favorite was the smoked chicken wings which were Smokey tender with crispy skin. They have different sauces and we tried everyone. The sauces all were a different taste, but equally perfect. I guess if I had to pick the best it would have to be their sweet house barbecue sauce. For dessert there are daily new choices and more to come. We chose the rocky road Thai rolled ice-cream which the prepare it for you right before you. We have always enjoyed the Thai rolled ice-cream, usually only finding it at festivals. We have already picked what we will be eating the next time we go.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the creamery offered a non-dairy coconut option. I had TWO servings with mix-ins it was so good! Our friends got the dairy version and said it was also delicious. The service was great and accommodating to special dietary restrictions. The restaurant is still new but they were nice enough to move tables to fit our group. I would definitely recommend you stop by and get some barbecue and rolled non-dairy and dairy ice-cream.

We were greeted right away and were able to take a table. Small dining area, with very limited seating. Nice warm cozy vibe including Bob Ross on the tv. The food came out quickly. Hot and fresh. I got the Snoring Bear Breakfast. I chose the Cajun seasoning for the tilapia and it was a lil bland. I probably could have asked for more seasoning, so that's on me. The rest was great. Eggs cooked to perfection. My wife chose the fish platter and she said the fish was delicious. The fries were a lil over seasoned and she had to rub some of the fries off. As for the drinks, cans of Coke, Sprite, etc are $1.99 each. A lil pricey but it is clearly marked on the menu. My only complaint is I ordered a water and was charged 50 cents. It's not listed anywhere on the menu, so I was surprised to see it on my bill. Overall, I would probably stop here again for a quick bite if I'm in the area. Nice little place, and the service is great!

We pulled into the parking lot, and I could hear my compadre, RIP, say to me, ' Si está ocupado, va a ser bueno." If its busy, its going to be good. The parking lot was full and the inside of the restaurant was busy. We walked in and our Mom who was a teenager during the 50's loved the decor and signage and my brother immediately gravitated towards the pinball machines. We sat down at a booth. The booths are a little tight if you're tall and have had a couple of cheeseburgers over the years. The good news is that the table is moveable Our server Finch was delightful. By the way, it was her Birthday on the day we were there and even though she was working on her Birthday, she was still having a lot of fun. The regular menu is HUGE. I'm not talking Cheesecake Factory HUGE, I'm talking about triple that...... There's about 50 different burgers and I'm probably missing some. There's burger with a fried bologna slice and american cheese There's a burger with Military Chow The menu is clear to understand but there's an overwhelming amount of choices. I didn't see the vegan menu in the regular menu so I politely asked Finch for the vegan menu, and she skipped back to me with it. Wow - A lot of choices as well. Hot Rod's uses Beyond Meat for some of their burgers but they also custom craft their veggie burgers. The vegan cheese on my burger was most likely Follow Your Heart or Violife, but it was properly melted. The Beyond Burger was a frozen slab without any seasoning but cooked through. I would have preferred some seasoning but hey - I'm not going to knock it. The portion of fries is massive. The vegan ranch is Follow Your Heart and was a nice dipping sauce for the fries. My brother had a buffalo chicken sandwich and my mom had the reuben. We all shared the vegan banana split. Hot Rod 50's Diner as stated by another Yelp reviewer may be the best diner in the United States.

For guests, (like us), dinner here is included in your room rate and consists of 4 courses (wine is extra) and the menu changes daily depending on what's in season. You can expect top notch service, high quality, flavorful food in a gorgeous setting in the repurposed barn from "up north". We had a fantastic meal that was amplified by the assistance from sommelier Greg who found an amazing wine for us from the 4" thick wine list. My only COMPLAINT is the dress code. Note to the Barn-it's not 1950! Requiring jackets for men is oh so southern country club-it's time to ditch this vestige of the old south! Now if you are like me and forget your jacket at home, they do have some "loaner jackets" but in my case there was't the proper size so I was made to wear my raincoat throughout dinner making me feel very self-conscious, especially since we were seated in the middle of the dinning room. Definitely kept me from fully enjoying the evening. Bottom line: -5 star food and service -1 star for antiquated, behind the times dress code
