Old fashioned diner, with the friendliest people, great service. The food is delish, BRING YOUR APPETITE. Omlets are wonderful, as are the fried mushrooms. The Surfer Burger is a MUST try. Great little mom and pop. Had some business in town and decided me and my 3 year old could try some of their breakfast. Good thing their parking lot is huge because they were slammed! In the best way! They still had enough room to find us a table too! Food was great, but don't expect IHOP type of food. This is what your grandma made. One bite is instant nostalgia. Oh, and it's affordable. Two people (my 3 year old eats like he's a starving grown man) ate for under $20. This place is a dive of a diner. You get what you see. The employees are very nice and our waitress explained the menu - they had a special of the day and everything else is a la carte. The food is like being at your grandmother's for breakfast back on the farm. It is popular with the locals and the parking lot is packed. Inside is old with wobbling chairs and stools. There's cracks in the counter and floor & the bathroom is outdated & old. Do not expect a fancy place when you go to this place. It is very casual/come as you are. Diner and a dive. Now, this is a dive. The corners are not swept, the ceiling tiles are busted or stained. Yes, the addition to the building does not match the original and your chair, table or both will wobble. That said. My food was good. The way only scratch made meatloaf and mash potatoes can be. My friend had a chili topped burger. He tried hard to finish it all, but the burger won in the end. Atmosphere. Service was friendly. Zero wi-fi. The one you may see is for the business only. My family and I stopped in here on the way back to my brother's place, we knew it had to be good, the parking lot was packed. It took a little bit to get a table, however, the service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and so sweet! I ordered a cheese omelet, hash browns, and toast, with a side of potato salad. I had seen it someone else's plate and really wanted to try it. My food was absolutely delicious! I savored every bite. Unfortunately I got so full that I couldn't finish the potato salad, but I brought it back home for a snack later today. My family really enjoyed their meals as well, this place was a first for them as well, they live in the area, I am visiting from out of state. We waited 45 minutes never got our food. The people around us got theirs. They told us because we got food from the grill it takes longer but the people that came in after us got their stuff off the grill. Meh...if you're not a loyal customer, forget about wait staff being attentive. The last two times we've been there for breakfast it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get served (35+ minutes) and they weren't that busy. The problem seemed to be one small grill and one cook. Had to hail the waitress every time we needed something. Folks came in after us and were served right away, long before us (maybe they were regulars?). Locals/employees at the counter were getting plenty of timely service/attention. Not sure if we will be back just because you don't feel welcome by them, but I seriously doubt they care. We came in for breakfast and none of the employees were wearing a mask. Our server was very nice and brought things promptly. I noticed beans and habanero cornbread as a menu item. I asked the waitress if the beans had meat in them and she said no. She did "warn" me that the cornbread is "really spicy". I ordered the beans and cornbread and when it arrived, my very first bite of beans had a big piece of bacon or ham in it. Not cool. The habanero cornbread did not contain any habanero or any spice or flavor whatsoever not to mention it was very dry. We loved this spot. It's not much to look at but go on in anyway. The staff are all so sweet. When I say they hustle, I don't know how many stopped by our table to see if we needed anything. We have been here quite a few times in the last year but this is our first review. We ordered breakfast both of us got the loaded hash. I got mine with 2 eggs with it and wife got toast and both had coffee. If you like diner coffee this is the place we love their coffee. Our loaded has was suppose the be crispy hash browns but were not - disappointing. The prices are good and portions are ok - seem to be getting smaller each time. The atmosphere is a diner but waitresses are always great. The one downfall is the people running the register are not friendly and seems bothered you are there. Not sure if we will be back just because you don't feel welcome by them and portions are shrinking. read more

Just ate lunch there and we will NEVER go back. When we walked in for the first time, of course we waited at the hostess stand to be seated. When the third waitress walked past us, finally spoke or should I say barked at us to find a seat in the other room. Rude but Ok, we did find a seat. After 10 minutes, our menus and silverware were thrown at us and we were told to just sit there. When our drinks came, our straws were thrown at us. After waiting 20 minutes for our meal, we were greatly disappointed. The food was less than desirable. I was given the wrong side, French fries, and asked for what I ordered. The waitress wanted to take my plate away. She said someone else will eat these. I BELIEVE SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE THE FF FROM MY PLATE TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. This is not only disgusting but against ALL health regulations. I refuse to give her my plate. When the tots came, they were SOAKED in grease. TOTALLY DISGUSTING PLACE. I had The misfortune of going into this lamp Post restaurant set up at the counter and I observed the manager cook only having one glove on hand while the unloved hand was holding a dirty towel also she did not wear her hair net and her long blonde hair in a ponytail was touching the lettuce and tomatoes which I also found out that she has previously been reported by other customers to the health department and by the health department she was advised to wear a head or not but she refuses also observed the lady putting her ungloved finger into a bowl of eggs to get out the broken shell without washing hands before also observed the manager cook putting her hands all over the counters and the doors and not washing her hands before preparing the food with the unloved hand do not suggest going to the lamp post if you want tell me poisoning I suggest you go read more

Typical diner atmosphere and was hoping for the small town "good" mom and pop food. Out of 5 of us, I think my meal was the best. I got an omelet with home fries. Omelet was tasty, with peppers, onions, and cheese. Home fries were sliced potato rounds. Fresh however not quite cooked crisp enough. Another ordered the BLT, it looked ok, and the bacon was cooked crispy, however that person didn't really eat more then a couple bites and said it was "ok". Was told the burger was fine, and the only guy in the group got the roast beef with two sides special. He plowed though it however it looks like he probably does the same with any food.. Waitress was slow but friendly, food took awhile which surprised me since it was slow when we went in. I would for sure do breakfast again. This is a top notch old style southern diner with down home southern food. Sure, a lot of things are fried but this is one of the few places in town where you can actually get some vegetables and homemade deviled eggs. Far from fancy, you can come as you are whether in shorts and a tshirt or dressed up for church. The people are friendly and the food is good. One of my favorites. read more
