I have used Sno-King in the past, pre-pandemic with great results. Kyle was personable and easy to work with. I also worked with his team one time during the pandemic once he stepped away from doing jobs. All went well. However, calling and trying to schedule an appointment with his team this time was a different story. I worked with "Abbie" by text. This was true even when I tried phoning her as the texting was extending over days (from Friday to Monday to Sunday). I understand that scheduling can be tricky. However, I kept asking to be scheduled and to be given the updated pricing. My feeling was that they were simply too busy to bother or their communication skills were subpar. When the pricing came through, the $50 travel fee became $75 ten minutes later. Yesterday I wrote a 5 Star Review for a local business. I don't think I've ever written a one star review before. However the defensiveness and mansplaining I received has led me to understand that this business has changed, and not for the better. I write this after no less than 20 messages from the business. Update: the owner has called me and texted me that they have "remained courteous" which is not my complaint. My complaint is that they were not communicating well. I am happy to share my text chat to prove it. "Revision on trip charge to $75 since it increased in 2020." This came in less than 10 minutes after a $50 charge was told to me. I've used Sno-King for several years for rug cleaning; I am always more than happy with the results and with the incredible thoughtfulness and kindness of the workmen. This year, it was Alex who came out. Alex was incredible from the work he did to the way he explained all the possible "extras" that were available without giving any of them a hard sell. I took my deep turquoise silk Ralph Lauren button up for a cleaning. When it came back, it was a pale blue/gray color. The guy at the counter said he did not know why it lost color, and recommended I call the manufacturer. No apology, no offer to replace the shirt, no offer to comp my bill or discount my next clean. The $150 shirt would still be wearable if it wasn't the fact that the thread used on the seams matched the original color (its color did not change). I had only worn this shirt twice and had it dry-cleaned somewhere else after the first time, which didn't have any problems. I wanted to try this place because it was close to where I lived and because I had a bad experience at John's across the street. But it looks like I'm resigned to driving a ways to get my clothes cleaned. read more

Super polite, quick turnaround time, and most importantly they do a great job. We've never had any issues whatsoever with the extra charges or garment damage that some of these other outdated reviews are mentioning. They do a far better job than the other dry cleaners across the street, who could not find our garments on two separate occasions and charged much more. I wanted to like you. I thought your new store was clean and modern, and the whole transaction was painless. $1.69 each for shirts was reasonable. You are very close to our house in Richmond Highlands, so I thought we had found a new cleaners. And then, a couple of weeks later, my husband brought the very same shirts in. The woman working behind the counter told him in addition to the per shirt laundering charge, it would be an additional $2.00 per shirt for hair removal. She picked through each of the shirts, holding them up between her fingers like they were dirty diapers. Seriously? We've never been told anything like this before or since, in the nine years we've had dogs and the 20 we've had cats. The shirts are hung in a closet on a completely different level than where our dogs live, and are taken off the minute my husband gets home. Unless he has changed careers and now works as a dog groomer, there's no way. That's okay. Panda now has our business, and I'm sure they appreciate whatever real reason you had for slapping on such a ridiculous and pointless charge. read more

They pick 1-2 garments to pick out so the can dry clean and add charges to. They do not notify you when you drop them off even though they have already figured out which ones they are going to up charge. In my case, I had a black print shirt that I asked for Laundry and Medium Starch. When I asked they why they separated it out they said. That shirt requires Dry Cleaning. I rolled the label out and said I wish you to launder it as per manufacturers recommendations... Wash warm water, tumble dry... I just really wanted them to starch and iron the shirt.... They said if they did that it would cost 2.00 to wash and dry, 5.00 to starch and 7.95 it iron the shirt. All other shirts cost 2.00 per shirt for the same type of service... They just wanted to more money for that one... Very deceitful. read more

In the past month this place has taken four weeks (telling me each week to come back next week) to clean a down coat, ruined a favorite black blazer with permanent rust red stains around the neckline, and permanently creased another favorite blazer. Today I had to return to demand an item they "forgot.". I'm not coming back and I suggest that you steer clear. read more

Don't be dissuaded by the bad reviews if they're earlier than October 2017 or so, because that's about the time Sno-King Cleaners changed management. Sno-King was bought out by the same family that runs Cloud 9 Cleaners further west on Richmond Beach Road (across from Spin Alley). Cloud 9 always offered good service, and after they bought Sno-King I started taking my clothes to Sno-King instead. (I usually pick up and drop off first thing in the morning, and after the buyout, Cloud 9 started shorter hours, opening at 9:00 on weekdays.) My experience with Sno-King over the last several months has been completely positive. I've mostly had shirts laundered, but have taken in several items for dry cleaning as well. I've had a good experience every time I've been there, never had any weird up-charges or other issues. I don't know if Sno-King does alterations, so if you need those, I'd still recommend going down the hill to Cloud 9. And if Cloud 9 is more convenient, it still has the same great service, just with shorter hours. If Sno-King is closer, or if, like me, you want to go in early on weekdays, I think you'll be fully satisfied with Sno-King. read more

I live in the neighborhood and I have taken my cleaning to Sno-King Cleaners for thirty years. My clothes are always well cared for. The have also made small repairs to sweaters for me and even put in a new zipper on a sweater that needed it. A beautiful job too! I highly recommend this business. read more

Mostly I have shirts done and they always seem clean and neatly pressed. My dry clean items seem well done. I will say that I'm not an expert so take that part of the review for what it's worth. I give five stars because one time I left a large amount of cash in a suit pocket and they returned it to me. I would never have been able to prove that I left money in the pocket, so their honesty was amazing and much appreciated! read more

I just picked up my husband's basic wool winter coat a few minutes ago. I've had this coat dry cleaned before for around $15. He's tall, over 6'2", and the coat hits him around mid-thigh. When I went to pay, though, they charged me $24 because they said it was a full length "top coat". "Regular" 2/3 length coats, which this is despite their saying otherwise, are the expected $15. I asked them to explain how they came to that conclusion, and they just stood around looking at the floor. I thought about arguing about it but it wasn't worth $10. I just won't go there again and recommend that you don't, either. read more

Do not go here unless you are prepared for a ton of extra charges! My husband brought in his dress shirts and was quoted $1.98/shirt. I went to pick up the shirts and there were $40 of extra charges - everything from neck, size, and even an extra charge to dry clean??? I have been taking shirts to the dry cleaners for 20 years and have never experienced such ridiculous "upcharges". The lady told me all drycleaners charge "upcharges"....No, no they don't. read more

Took a silk satin light weight jacket in to clean, they got out a couple stains, but "couldn't remove" a stain that I was unaware of when I brought it in. I can't in all fairness say it definitely wasn't there, but it definitely wasn't as big or obvious as it is now. Worse yet the wide pretty sleeve cuffs, which were smooth when I brought it in, are now wrinkled and have bad looking folds pressed into them. I asked for a discount since I was quite unhappy but "sorry, we can't do anything about it, can't fix it, won't discount" So I won't go back and wouldn't suggest anyone else go either. read more
