I used to like coming to this laundromat when it was functional, however that was ~2 or 3 years ago. The attendants are kind and helpful which is the only redeeming quality at this time. Unfortunately, my last visit was not great: only a handful of their machines were in working order. A couple of the larger capacity washers didn't wring out the laundry and my items (including some blankets and sheets) were soaked with water; I ended up wringing them out by hand to the best of my ability. I had limited time that day as I was preparing for a house guest that was arriving later in the afternoon. I did not budget an extra hour or more for adding washing time in different machines to properly wring the laundry out. Nor did I budget for doubled or tripled dry time either. The attendant offered me extra dry time and comped some of the washes that did not wring my laundry out well enough, which I appreciated. However, with the amount I paid it feels like a rip off since I ended up having to leave and finish drying at my apartment building. Some of the items had to be hung to dry because the dryers at my building are not large enough to dry blankets. That was one of the main reasons I opted to visit the laundromat.. to wash and dry my blankets and bedding quickly, which I used to do at Aurora Clean Express without issue. I'm confused as to why none of the machines are being serviced, cleaned or repaired. I was under the impression that laundromats are highly profitable. Not only is it a bummer to lose a convenient laundromat, but this has to be terrible for their employees too. I really hope the owner can turn things around and rebuild their business as I would like to keep going there and supporting their awesome team. I had s four loder and my clotths come out wet I mean I was squezxing water and the person that was working was very RUDE. She told me I was making a big deal. Ignored me and went out to smoke. I usually come on Sunday mornings where the other lady mostly is here who is polite and professional . This one is so rude and loud she just scared me. This place is so dirty and their machines are a waste of money. I put a blanket in and it came out soaked still. I asked the attendant to run a rinse cycle for me and she said that I wasn't supposed to put blankets in the double load washer?! I ended up putting it in the dryer which she paid for but it still wasn't dry after everything was said and done. I went to pull out my clothes from another washer and old cigarette butts came out with my clothes, I looked in the rubber ring and there were socks and more cigarettes in there. Half their washers are out of order. When I asked where their bathroom was so I could wash my hands they directed me to a basket that had hand sanitizer and paper towels, and since I had detergent on my hands I could go across the street to Safeway and use their water. They use these cards that cost three dollars to use their machines! Their floor is disgusting, I don't think it's ever been washed. The layout is set in a way that everyone is constantly running into each other. It's a disaster. I will definitely never return to this place. I don't suggest anyone else go there either. read more

Giving this 1 star because the attendant was pleasant. I had a mattress pad that needed washing from regular daily use. For the size of v washer they recommended here it was $6.10!!! I commented I thought it was over-priced and not willing to pay that for a wash plus drying. They have sons card system which is supposed to offer a discount...about this place process are better elsewhere with an attendant on hand. Gross. Really, really gross. I cannot emphasize gross enough. But in case I didn't - gross. Our new house came with a busted washing machine, so until the new one gets delivered, we will be making a few trips to the laundromat. But we won't be returning to this particular one. It's located in a run down strip mall, and upon entering we could tell it wasn't the cleanest... But we just needed to get a few loads washed to tide us over and it was close to another one of our stops, so in we went. The floors and counters were a bit filthy, and there was very little seating for customers waiting for their stuff to wash and dry. We considered leaving it with the very lethargic and uninterested attendant for their wash and fold service, just so we wouldn't have to stick around. However, he was clearly a heavy smoker, and me and my kids have allergies, so we opted to do it ourselves. The machines looked to be okay at first glance, albeit a bit grimy on the tops and around the dispenser drawer... however, a kiddo's sock had gotten lodged in the seal between the door and the tub (it was a front loader) and upon fishing it out, I was able to observe all of the filth that had collected in there. Wads of paper, a gum wrapper, spare change, lint - when was this thing cleaned out last? I checked the next washer - same thing. We had eight loads total, and every single washer had huge amounts of crud built up in the seals. Buttons, pet hair, human hair, gravel - it still makes my tummy turn just thinking about it. Thankfully, our dryer at home was operational, so rather than complete our laundry here, we loaded up our wet clothes and blankets and took them home. Gross. read more

So I'm moving to the area and was in a Residence Inn for the last month. It seems that each time I went to do my laundry at the hotel, everything was always full. When I ran out of things to wear, I knew I needed an alternative... So I find Clean Express thru Yelp and decided to call them. Do you have drop off Laundry Service? Yes. Are you open late? Yes. I kept asking questions and all of them were Yes. I decided to give them a try... I go to drop off my clothes and manage to get there just as an elderly lady got there to do her own laundry. I have to tell you that the attendant took such great care of that lady, I was actually happy to wait. If they take such good care of the elderly, my clothes will be just fine. The lady apologized for my wait (what? a whole 5 minutes? baah) and promptly took care of me - with a great attitude and a smile on her face. I had over 6 lbs of laundry and it cost me about $20 that I prepaid. I left for the weekend and came back and picked up my laundry today. Part of it was hung and the rest was folded very neatly and put into a plastic bag. I don't know about the whole do it yourself part here, but I can say that the service, price and quality here at Clean Express is excellent. I wish they were closer to where I'll be living. I'd be sneaking over my laundry to them every week! read more

If the idea of paying to valet, but you park yourself and don't park near and the valet asks you for a tip. Then this laundromat is your place. But if you want good value with less time than go somewhere other. This place is very attractive and clean. It also has gigantic washer and dryers which in all 3 of the local laundromats these do have the biggest. I on the other hand use the 4 load washers. They don't use coins rather card system that costs 3 to just purchase or you pay attendant fee per machine so the 4 load came to 5.75 which competitor 4.75. It cost 3.90 to dry for 45 minutes only does 15 minutes increments so for few dollars more could have my clothes possibly dry. Cause at the 45 they were not. The attendant was to busy and choose who to help based on what they needed not how long they had been in line. She placed change in front of tip charge. I went to this laundry to wash some larger items. I was able to fit a king sized comforter and two lightweight sleeping bags into a machine that cost $7.80 (IIRC) per load. There was an even bigger machine for $10.50 if you have something really massive. The huge dryers (2) were both in use, so I used smaller ones that were .80 per 16 minutes. You do not need quarters; you purchase a card for all machines. If you add $10 or $20 to the card, you actually get more on your card, so you eventually get the card cost back. Bring cash - no credit cards accepted. There was an older woman working (this was at about 11 am on a weekday). She was a bit snarky/curt with me but provided good advice about which machines to use. I wouldn't let the staff stop you from using this facility if you have something large to wash. It's a decent laundromat. read more

You can't pay with real money. You can't pay with a regular credit cards AND they don't have an ATM! You have to buy a Money Card issued by the laundromat and you can only buy it with cash. So if you don't have cash to buy their money card, you have to hike across the street to the ATM at Safeway. What a pain. read more

The staff is nice and the atmosphere is only a little weird. BUT: The entire place runs on a laundry card that you pay cash for and there is no ATM on the premises. The washer cycle seems to work pretty well, but the dryers NEVER dry your clothes on the first or even second cycle. I have to run the cycle 4 times to get my stuff even close. I am careful not to even remotely over load them-- I keep them literally less than a third full and the clothes have never come out totally dry or warm. The dryers are cheaper than the washer per cycle but you'll end up burning 10 bucks on drying alone. read more

There are disclaimers everywhere that ask people not to wash rugs in small washers other wise they don't spin out, but people are gonna always be cheap and do it anyway. obviously its not going to spin out and you're going to spend more money on drying which is your own fault. I see it every other day. If anything, its nice of them not to kick you out after you damaged the machines bc you're cheap then harassed the attendant bc you somewhat felt like it was his/her fault. The attendant was very pleasant and helpful. That's the good part. I used 4 of the newer washing machines. Dryers were okay. I came in to do 2 comforters, but brought regular clothes and towels with me as well. I had to re-wash everything at home, due to the funky smell. I have encountered this particular smell before. It's the rubber gaskets around the front loading machines. They become gunky and since these front loaders use less water and just go back and forth, with every swish, the water goes over the nasty gasket and back into your clothes. I will never go back there. It's difficult to clean these gaskets. And the washers never dry out because they are constantly used, swishing the soapy water over the gunky gasket and contaminating your clothes...over and over and over. Not recommended at all until they learn how to clean their machines. read more

First off, be leery of a business that do not take credit cards. I dropped off a queen size comforter on a Saturday. I picked it up 3 days later only to discover when I opened the bag at home, the comforter was severely damp through and through. The comforter sat on the floor at this place, DAMP for 3 days. It was 8:30 pm when I opened the bag at home. I immediately drove back to this inadequate drop off laundry service with the intent of having this place correct the mistake they made. The woman who was behind the counter offered no consideration to the situation. She, in no way, took responsibility for the damp comforter and went as far to say "It's not my fault. I didn't wash this" She never once apologized for the situation. She completely missed the point that she represents the "company" (her word) and as a representative, she should gladly and with some sense of urgency correct the mistake to the best of her ability. This, to me, is basic customer service. She told me I could pick up the comforter the next night and that she wouldn't charge me. All of this was delivered in a tone as if she was doing me a favor. I was insulted by the lack of urgency/care this woman had in regards to correcting the wrong the company she works for did. And as a side note. Of the 3 times I stupidly used this place, 2 times the items I had washed and dried, were damp when I go home. Rude, oblivious and sub standard, in my opinion, describe the place too a tee. I will never recommend nor give the place business again. read more

The one machine that I used seemed to work fine, so 1 star for that. No more stars though since their payment system is a bit whack and is not explained anywhere and the attendant was hostile from the first second I engaged with him. After I put the rug I was laundering into a 4-load machine, I went to the counter to see how payment worked since I could tell it was card based. I went to the money card machine they have. The machine I used was $6 a wash. I followed the instructions on the machine where it said a min of $3 had to be put in to get a card. I inserted a $5 bill but the machine rejected it saying it was too large. I waited until the attendant was done helping someone ahead of me to ask for change. I asked for change for the $5 and he gave me five $1s and added in a rude tone "and now you have taken all of my dollar bills." Sure, be rude, whatever. I thought that would be the end of my interaction with him but sadly it was not. I put the first three dollar bills in the machine and it spit out a card. I took it and selected the option to add value then reinserted. That's when I noticed that the balance was $0. Now most places that require you to use a card that they issue for payment give you the card for free after a certain value has been added. I assumed that the $3 would be added to the card as part of the balance and I could put $3 more on it to total the $6 needed for the washing machine. Wrong. Since I was only there because my home washer isn't large enough, I didn't want to pay $3 for a card I wouldn't likely use again. I asked the attendant if I could get a refund for the cost of the card and pay cash for the wash because I didn't realize it was an extra $3 on top of $6. He got hostile and said in a louder voice "no, we don't do that but I'll do it this time to not cause a scene." Uhh...ok, dude. You're the one causing a scene. I started to get pissed off at this point since one of the things I can't tolerate is people who are unnecessarily rude to service folks---but that irritation goes both ways. He had been perfectly cordial to the guy ahead of me and in the span of a second became rude and hostile. Despite my irritation at his attitude, I remained cordial. I said to him that the machine wasn't clear that the $3 was to "buy" the card and would not be added to the balance and that they should put a sign on the machine to make it clear. He snapped back saying there were signs everywhere. There weren't. At this point I was tired of his attitude but sadly had to continue interacting with him. He kept saying it costs more to pay cash than to use their card. Since I was only using the machine for a rug and his hostile attitude was rapidly leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I had zero intention of ever giving them my business again. It also made me really not want to give them an extra $3 for their dumb card. I told him there weren't any signs explaining their payment system--the $3 charge for a payment card, and the different costs based on method of payment. He kept saying they had signs. I finally said to him that their system is weird (since when does paying cash MORE? Especially in a rundown laundromat?) and that my parents owned a dry cleaner/laundromat for over 12 years. He then raised his voice and said "and we have been here for 15 years." Uhh. Ok. I took out the cash needed when he said that it would cost $6.50 for the machine and would be cheaper on the card. Again, I didn't want to pay them anymore than absolutely necessary after his behavior. My mom was with me and asked him if we could use quarters. I told her no, but she didn't hear me and the guy didn't respond to her. She asked him again and he turned to her and said "I can't understand you. I don't know what you're saying." At this point I was completely done with his shit attitude. My mom is Korean and while English may be her second language, she ran her own business here and has been in this country for nearly 40 years. Longer than his punk ass has been alive. There is nothing I can't stand more than when assholes try to make her feel small by commenting on her English. I was so close to going off on him but decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and left the cash on the counter. I also ended up taking the rug home wet to hang dry instead of using their dryer. I'll be visiting another laundromat tomorrow to dry it. Maybe the dude didn't appreciate my shirt that said "We should all be feminists" but seriously--you don't need to be a jerk when asked to do your freaking job. I spent more than 13 years of my life working at my parents laundromat. At 11 years old I provided better customer service than this grown ass man. Avoid, avoid, avoid this place unless you want to interact with a racist jerk. read more

Laundry machines at home are disconnected due to plumbing work, so i came here. Mistake. First, you need $1, $5, or $10 bills. You pay $3 for a chip reader card. That $ does not go toward your balance. That's the cost of the card. Then you add money to use the machines. $2.70 to wash and $1.05 per every 15 minutes drying. One load with 45 minutes dry time costs $8.85. Also, the washer I used didn't go through the spin cycle. My clothes were sopping wet and still had soap on them. I asked the friendly woman who works here and she said I probably over-loaded the machine. But I loaded it with about as much laundry as I did the machine next to it. So I have to spend more money to dry it properly because it's so wet. See how that works? If you frequent this place then the $3 cost of the card gradually gets absorbed, but if you're looking for a one-time solution, I wouldn't come here. They need to improve their communications about how the cards and machines work. I'd scrap the card process all together. Let people use credit or debit cards directly at the machines or pay bills at the machines. read more

So, I actually found this place by accident. To be honest I love this place itself; however, some of the older employees really make me not want to come in. The prices to run the washers and dryers (which are much bigger than other facilities) are very reasonable. Probably the best prices you'll ever find. There is also a TV which has cable so you can sit and watch some pretty interesting shows while waiting for your clothes to be done. Now here comes the part that is really making me wonder if I want to come back. I have seen some younger employees there who are willing to help me if I have questions and tend to leave me be while I'm there; however, there are a couple of more mature employees who are not the best. The rule is that you have to have your last load in by 7:30PM so they can close at 9PM. That's perfect, it gives us a enough time to get done before they close but also gives the employee time to clean up before the day ends. I walked in at 7PM a few times and once was told very curtly by one of the elderly employees that I had to have my stuff in the washer by 7:30PM. I looked at my watch and stated that it was only 7PM. Another time I came in at 6:30PM and was told very loudly to use only the set of washers by the dryers because the other washers were closed down for the night. I had to cram all my clothes into two washers because there weren't enough washers still open that weren't in use and that the attendant hadn't already shut down for the night. I think if this place doesn't really want customers we can easily go to another place. Some of these employees need to either do their job while they are there or go home. read more

Absolutely amazing place! I travel all over washington and can never seem to find time to get laundry done. I drop off a huge duffel bag every week and they can usually get it all washed and folded neatly by the end of the day. Very reasonably priced and I am always greeted with a smile and they have been greeting me by first name the second week. They even made laundry soap accomidations for my confort. I have been to this laundromat twice. Both times I've gone there have been numerous machines that didn't work. I went back exactly a week later and they were still broken. There were 2 different clerks a male the first time who was rude and wasn't helpful at all and stayed on his computer the whole time and made me feel like an inconvenience if I needed help. I asked to put an hour on one of there big machines he told me I didn't need an hour that 45 minutes was plenty. So I went with his since it's his job he probably knows better than me. When my 45 minute were up a I asked him if I could put more time on the machine. He told me that they have a strict no dryers starts after 8. Then 2 minutes later he comes up to me and says you did ask me for an hour so I can put 15 minutes on because I figured you wouldn't overload the machine. Then this evening I went back giving it a second chance and there was a woman present. We got there at 6:50 so we could meet the 7 cut off. We got everything started and went to put it in the dryer and the lady stops us and says that needs to be done by 8:30. No where in this store does it say that. The store closes at 9 I understand that you have closing up to do I teach preschool and sometimes you have to say late and finish your job. There are also no ATMs in this store when they require you to pay with cash is a little sketchy to me. Will never go back read more

First let me start by saying this is the worst laundromat that could exist. The floors are constantly dirty and stained with god-knows-what. The bathroom has the ceiling falling apart and it may fall down on you at any point. They don't do a good job of cleaning out the machines because every time I go to use one, there is dog hair and gross mystery hair. Let me also say that almost every machine breaks down at one point during the day. I guess the boss is too cheap to fix anything. The employee's are extremely rude when you ask them for something. The "drop-off" service is hardly worth it. It is expensive as hell and they do a horrible job at making sure it is done the way you want. If you have laundry to do, I suggest doing it somewhere else because this place might give you a disease. It is HORRIBLE. read more
