Great little grab and go spot. They do pizza by the slice and it usually is pretty fresh. One of the few places to get a bite to eat for under 10 dollars.

I LOVE going for pizza at Smug's! It's delicious. Honestly, best pizza in town. Customer service is excellent, and we've found ourselves coming here for lunch much more often since they started accepting cards. The only reason they don't get the full 5 stars is because while my husband and I usually prefer to sit at the table by the window rather than at the counter along the back wall, the stools are too high to sit comfortably. It would be much better with just a couple shorter chairs there.

My BF and our families stopped by in Eureka from camping for the 4th of July fireworks. While waiting, we got really hungry and looked up on yelp something quick we could grab to eat. This place is what popped out to me! Their was about a 10 minute line. It's a really small shop so it was out the door. Only one table inside for siting. While waiting I noticed they kept restocking with fresh different topping pizzas. It's a simple place with a simple menu. You can buy by the slice quick I really appreciate b/c not many places do that anymore. They also have combo deals with chips and a drink. They only had to two types of chips which I thought was a downside. Thought they can add some variety. I ordered a standard slice of pepperoni and it was really good. Really cheesy, good amount of pepperoni and tasty crust. It was simple and good and only $3. Definitely a good spot to stop at if you want a quick meal/snack!

Yummy!

It's always tough to find a place that sells pizza by the slice. Smug's is your best option in old town eureka, and the food is delicious. The prices are reasonable, but the thing I really like is how hygienic the staff is. They wash their hands right in front of you after dealing with cash. It's really good pizza. I recommend it.

affordable, delicious, and an assortment of choices. Sometimes not quite as warm as other pizza.

Love their slices! make sure you get one that was straight out of the oven, the sitters get stale fast.

My 450th review. I like to do special places for reviews ending in 50 and 100, and this place…read moredefinitely qualifies. They people who run Tandoori Bites Indian restaurant downtown, (An excellent restaurant on it's own,) have decided to branch out into pizza as well. They took over the space of the old Angelo's Pizza, which served Humboldt County for over 50 years. Those are big shoes to fill, and I'm glad to say that they are a worthy restaurant to go into the space. They did a great renovation. Yes, of course, the old "trapshoot" game, a staple of Angelo's to the very end is long gone, but the new interior is bright, fresh, and spotless! Indian items line the walls. They have 2 big screens in which to watch sports. They have the main room, and the smaller back room has an air hockey game. They also have a small arcade room. The space can look the nicest in the world, but if the food doesn't back it up? "FUHGEDDABOUDIT!!!! I am glad to say, that the pizza here is absolutely top notch!!! They have indian flavors on top of pizzas. (Butter Chicken? Curry? Sure, why not...), but they also have the traditional pizza flavors, as well. such as pepperoni, Hawaiian, etc... they also have both vegetarian and vegan offerings. I ordered the medium tandoori chicken pizza to go. Lots of toppings, and I could definitely taste the indian flavors on the pizza. The tandoori chicken itself, was tender, and delicious. My 95 year old dad can be a picky eater, but he tried it, and he also liked it very much. The people are very nice, and the Prices are reasonable. This is an awesome place, and I hope they last a long time. I'll be back. Thanks!!!!! UPDATE: I've ordered twice more, since this review, and both pizzas were just as good. We tried the butter, chicken pizza, you could definitely taste the butter, chicken flavor, very rich and delicious. The next time, we had the lamb kebab pizza. The lamb was absolutely delicious, and there was a lot on it. Both Dad and I really enjoyed them both. The lamb kebab pizza came with A mint chutney, but neither of us cared for the chutney. I guess it's an acquired taste. We can't wait to try more of the Indian pizzas. Thanks again.

We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.

I had oven roasted salmon with what was supposed to be a teriyaki glaze on top but it was more like a syrup. The mushroom risotto was good. The pizzas that we ordered were good. The price for the child's slider was crazy for the tiny thing that we received. My personal opinion otherwise are the chairs. They are cold and uncomfortable.
