I was staying over in Eureka, and when I was looking for a place for pick-up, Smug's came up. However, the one closest to us closed early and this location stayed open late. Though it was only 8 miles away, I thought what the heck. Called it in while I was driving over. Friendly greeting from the two workers! The dough was crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside. We had chicken, sundried tomatoes, and spinach. A perfect light combination since it was late. Saved two slices for the next day's road travel and they made the perfect lunch! This place seems like a good place for people who are just randomly walking down the street and feel a sudden urge to eat pizza. I don't see why anyone would go out of their way to eat at this place because they never have anything ready, and the place is so small that you'd have to wait outside with all of the weird stuff that goes on in the area. The good: Guys were friendly. The bad: place is dirty. Cutting surface looks like it's from 1970 and harboring a lot of bacteria. The ceiling looks like it's gonna cave in any second. This is a walk up storefront. There is no seating. Cash or local check only. Most of all the pizza is terrible! Where do I start? The crust was it crisp and thin. The sauce tasted like uncooked canned tomato with no seasoning. The cheese was flavorless but the artichoke and onion were ok. I've had better frozen pizzas. If I had no moral code I would give it a good 4 star because their staff is always very friendly and sweet, their pizza tastes decent and their crust is pretty good and they really load it up with cheese every time I go. The reason why I took the one star off is because In all truth. It's a really good medium place, they don't really stay open late and their food is JUST OK.
