Butter chicken and tiki Curry Chicken Masala pizza
    Katie B.

So I love pizza. Like even my kids would tell you at my wake of life my mom would want it catered with pizza. This stuff is GREAT!!!! I wasn't solid I like India food but on pizza? Yes! It will be a staple on vacation.

My 450th review. I like to do special places for reviews ending in 50 and 100, and this place definitely qualifies. They people who run Tandoori Bites Indian restaurant downtown, (An excellent restaurant on it's own,) have decided to branch out into pizza as well. They took over the space of the old Angelo's Pizza, which served Humboldt County for over 50 years. Those are big shoes to fill, and I'm glad to say that they are a worthy restaurant to go into the space. They did a great renovation. Yes, of course, the old "trapshoot" game, a staple of Angelo's to the very end is long gone, but the new interior is bright, fresh, and spotless! Indian items line the walls. They have 2 big screens in which to watch sports. They have the main room, and the smaller back room has an air hockey game. They also have a small arcade room. The space can look the nicest in the world, but if the food doesn't back it up? "FUHGEDDABOUDIT!!!! I am glad to say, that the pizza here is absolutely top notch!!! They have indian flavors on top of pizzas. (Butter Chicken? Curry? Sure, why not...), but they also have the traditional pizza flavors, as well. such as pepperoni, Hawaiian, etc... they also have both vegetarian and vegan offerings. I ordered the medium tandoori chicken pizza to go. Lots of toppings, and I could definitely taste the indian flavors on the pizza. The tandoori chicken itself, was tender, and delicious. My 95 year old dad can be a picky eater, but he tried it, and he also liked it very much. The people are very nice, and the Prices are reasonable. This is an awesome place, and I hope they last a long time. I'll be back. Thanks!!!!! UPDATE: I've ordered twice more, since this review, and both pizzas were just as good. We tried the butter, chicken pizza, you could definitely taste the butter, chicken flavor, very rich and delicious. The next time, we had the lamb kebab pizza. The lamb was absolutely delicious, and there was a lot on it. Both Dad and I really enjoyed them both. The lamb kebab pizza came with A mint chutney, but neither of us cared for the chutney. I guess it's an acquired taste. We can't wait to try more of the Indian pizzas. Thanks again.

Chickpea and Spinach Pizza, with dairy mozzarella and mango lassi
    Ray J.

We missed the buffet, so we ordered a Chickpea and Spinach Masala vegan pizza, with achari sauce, chickpea, spinach, red onions and mozzarella; only we asked our server to use regular dairy mozzarella instead of the vegan option. It was served promptly, hot and fresh. The service was competent and not intrusive. Flavors were complex and there was a nice bite to the sauce. I was a bit disappointed at how little spinach was on the pie. I also ordered a mango lassi, which is my go-to beverage when I'm eating Indian food. That was a good idea, as the achari sauce has a bit of a bite. Our meal was more expensive than I expected. Prices have gone up since the menu was last published. Not out of line for San Francisco, but higher than I'm used to seeing in Eureka. All in all it was a solid dining experience, and I look forward to trying the buffet to get a more complete picture of the menu

We've never tried their pizza before, although my mouth waters every time I see their Ad. The Butter Chicken (extra large) pizza is a wonderful change of pace. Ours was delivery. The delivery charge wasn't excessive BY ANY MEANS, so I hope our tip was enough. Definitely 5 star.

    Super fat toppings and flavor.

The place was very clean and well organized. It had a good vibe to it. They had a cool arcade section that looked fun with tvs and a big screen for watching sports. And the customer service was friendly and attentive. The menu had lots of options and we were very pleased with our pizza. I loved how crispy and fresh the crust was when you bit into it. And the flavors of the sauce and toppings were absolutely delicious. We also had a couple beers on tap and they were icy cold and well poured, making it a perfect combination with our lunch. We will be back again! Highly recommended to try out when you are in Eureka.

    Tandoori Chicken

Place was very clean, seemed like a nice place to hang out for an afternoon. Beer on tap. Ice cream and milkshakes available. Pizza didn't have an abundance of flavor, pretty boring. But it was jam packed with toppings. I would return. I would maybe supply my own lemon.

    Kebab and tikka masala
    Hope B.

A must try. Best pizza I've had in a long time. The balance of a crusty crust, the meltiest of cheese, and the meat was sooo flavorful and perfect. I need to try every combination now.

the one on top is tandoori chicken pizza and the one below is curry chicken masala

this place is so yummy and awesome. COME EAT HERE!!!! they also have really delish mango lassi

Every single time I check the contactless delivery box & the last couple times have specifically said it needs to be contactless in the instructions. This time I specifically put in all capital letters with 6 asterisks that I needed contactless delivery due to illness & to put the pizza on the ground by the door. My apt is impossible to find unless you know it's there so I always put directions on how to find it. That is the only way to find my apt so I know the delivery guy saw what I wrote. And still knocked on the door until I yelled at him that I was sick & that had put contactless delivery. Admittedly, I lost my cool & shouldn't have yelled BUT there was no way he could've miss the contactless directions since he found my apt. And this is a long established pattern with this restaurant. I rarely have issues with other delivery services & restaurants so this is very much an issue with them specifically. I will not be ordering from them again because it's just getting too frustrating for me to have them not follow very clear directions, especially with how expensive their food is! I paid $40 just for a small pizza & breadsticks.

The place was pretty busy at 8pm and we sat outside since we had our pup with us. I ordered 3 oysters as an app. I had just read that Humboldt Bay provided a large percentage of the oysters consumed in CA and NV so figured I should order some since we're so close to the source! I was surprised when I slurped it down and it was warm but they were delicious and the sauce on top was very flavorful. (That was my fault for not reading the description well enough; I'm just accustomed to eating oysters chilled) For entree's, I went with the Polenta Veghie lasagna and my husband ordered the Italian Mac n cheese. Both dishes were very good and very filling. I loved the crust of the polenta and the eggplant and cheese filling was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was impressed with the coziness and warmth of the interior. Great spot for dinner, I'm glad I chose this restaurant!

We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.
