Stopped traveling through Eureka because of the positive yelp reviews. We ordered the Desi Garlic Pizza. The chicken was dry and a bit over cooked. The overall flavor was good. Probably would have been better with less cheese. The most off putting was the lack of cleanliness. The table felt sticky and the women's bathroom wasn't clean. It was only noon, so the restuarant and bathroom should have been clean. A dirty restaurant always makes me wonder about the kitchen cleanliness. read more

My 450th review. I like to do special places for reviews ending in 50 and 100, and this place definitely qualifies. They people who run Tandoori Bites Indian restaurant downtown, (An excellent restaurant on it's own,) have decided to branch out into pizza as well. They took over the space of the old Angelo's Pizza, which served Humboldt County for over 50 years. Those are big shoes to fill, and I'm glad to say that they are a worthy restaurant to go into the space. They did a great renovation. Yes, of course, the old "trapshoot" game, a staple of Angelo's to the very end is long gone, but the new interior is bright, fresh, and spotless! Indian items line the walls. They have 2 big screens in which to watch sports. They have the main room, and the smaller back room has an air hockey game. They also have a small arcade room. The space can look the nicest in the world, but if the food doesn't back it up? "FUHGEDDABOUDIT!!!! I am glad to say, that the pizza here is absolutely top notch!!! They have indian flavors on top of pizzas. (Butter Chicken? Curry? Sure, why not...), but they also have the traditional pizza flavors, as well. such as pepperoni, Hawaiian, etc... they also have both vegetarian and vegan offerings. I ordered the medium tandoori chicken pizza to go. Lots of toppings, and I could definitely taste the indian flavors on the pizza. The tandoori chicken itself, was tender, and delicious. My 95 year old dad can be a picky eater, but he tried it, and he also liked it very much. The people are very nice, and the Prices are reasonable. This is an awesome place, and I hope they last a long time. I'll be back. Thanks!!!!! UPDATE: I've ordered twice more, since this review, and both pizzas were just as good. We tried the butter, chicken pizza, you could definitely taste the butter, chicken flavor, very rich and delicious. The next time, we had the lamb kebab pizza. The lamb was absolutely delicious, and there was a lot on it. Both Dad and I really enjoyed them both. The lamb kebab pizza came with A mint chutney, but neither of us cared for the chutney. It's a place I would love to come more often to, but after a few tries I find the Indian flavor pizzas to be a little bland. It's like toned down for American people. I wish them luck though. I'll try again sometime. read more

Great pizza! They have all of the usual italian pizzas, but they also have indian inspired pizzas. Both are excellent. I'm usually not too adventurous with food, so I was glad to find their pizza offerings included the same as one would expect at any pizza restaurant; however, I did try a couple indian inspired pizzas that my family ordered and they were excellent. We missed the buffet, so we ordered a Chickpea and Spinach Masala vegan pizza, with achari sauce, chickpea, spinach, red onions and mozzarella; only we asked our server to use regular dairy mozzarella instead of the vegan option. It was served promptly, hot and fresh. The service was competent and not intrusive. Flavors were complex and there was a nice bite to the sauce. I was a bit disappointed at how little spinach was on the pie. I also ordered a mango lassi, which is my go-to beverage when I'm eating Indian food. That was a good idea, as the achari sauce has a bit of a bite. Our meal was more expensive than I expected. Prices have gone up since the menu was last published. Not out of line for San Francisco, but higher than I'm used to seeing in Eureka. All in all it was a solid dining experience, and I look forward to trying the buffet to get a more complete picture of the menu read more

We've never tried their pizza before, although my mouth waters every time I see their Ad. The Butter Chicken (extra large) pizza is a wonderful change of pace. Ours was delivery. The delivery charge wasn't excessive BY ANY MEANS, so I hope our tip was enough. Definitely 5 star. read more

The place was very clean and well organized. It had a good vibe to it. They had a cool arcade section that looked fun with tvs and a big screen for watching sports. And the customer service was friendly and attentive. The menu had lots of options and we were very pleased with our pizza. I loved how crispy and fresh the crust was when you bit into it. And the flavors of the sauce and toppings were absolutely delicious. We also had a couple beers on tap and they were icy cold and well poured, making it a perfect combination with our lunch. Place was very clean, seemed like a nice place to hang out for an afternoon. Beer on tap. Ice cream and milkshakes available. Pizza didn't have an abundance of flavor, pretty boring. But it was jam packed with toppings. I would return. I would maybe supply my own lemon. read more

The Shahi Paneer pizza is my favorite. It's vegetarian but with big chunks of Paneer cheese and indian spices.

The food and service are great! I've tried a few different types of their pizza and they all were good. The chicken tikka is a must. The pizza crust has been perfect every time. BEST CHICKEN WINGS IN HUMBOLDT!!! The tandoori wings will blow you away. I was hesitant on dipping them in their mint sauce but it was an incredible combination. Place us very clean and nice, workers up front were buried in their cell phones, I had to ask for a cup of icewater which I say was the best thing in the entire meal it was definitely not tapwater. But nobody's coming here for the water. I came at 1 PM for the pizza buffet. Everything looks pretty wiped out what was there was barely warm and soggy. Nothing was labeled as what it was there was a mix of styles on the same pan. I tried five different style of pizza that were there, which all seem to be remnants put together. There was absolutely nothing in the about the pizza. Absolutely zero curry flavors. Absolutely zero Indian flavors. The tandoori restaurant itself is actually delicious and the flavors are very bold. I assumed the same curry would be used on the pizza as well as the meat of the same quality proteins. Everything seemed cheap quality and bland and dry protein wise. Why can't you just take boutique masala and other couriers through your restaurant and put them on a pizza? Everything was absolutely confusing. One of the pizzas offered was chicken bacon ranch pizza, absolutely nothing about it is indian. Let alone the indian varieties whatever 4 unlabeled styles I tried being so bland. I tried my hardest to search for any sort of Indian flavor in there. For $14 it was an absolute waste of money. None of the slices were finished. Very weird experience, I would like to start out with saying that when you walk in, we were greated by no one. We walked up to the cash register and we said, hey, we're here for the buffet. The guy was pleasant enough he took our order and we started getting our buffet stuff, we noticed that we didn't get any drinks so we walked up and we said hey do we need to purchase a drink separately to which they said yes. The can of soda I was given was $2.99. no fun. Another customer came in and it was the same situation they had to ask if a drink was separate after they had already paid for the buffet part. I feel like it should be customary in the restaurant business to be asked for a drink. Moving forward we looked at the buffet, there was a few different types of pizzas out they were small and kind of sad looking but honestly the flavors are really good. There wasn't any why behind the pizza there wasn't any flavor tags or anything like that It was just like three random very small pizzas. They kind of look like totino's pizzas but much better flavor. Then the salad bar there was like meats and stuff in these containers over ice and it was like one layer of ice it was very odd It just didn't look very inviting. I don't work and the food industry so I'm not sure what the requirements are for keeping those sorts of things cold but whatever. I have to say it seemed as though the staff wanted to do anything other than talk to the customers which is just sort of the norm it seems these days. I don't feel like there were any different than anyone else as far as lacking customer service. I definitely think a boost in morale and a better display of food would bring more customers as well as potentially lowering the price of some of the things like soda four sodas buys them a 12 pack which I feel like I get it, let's make some money but let's also not rip people off. I get that when you go to the fair but not a local restaurant. Also I needed to add I did get sweet chili sauce wings and they were pretty bomb. Very thick and juicy! read more

Today I went for lunch. Very expensive for low quality domino's style pizza. I got a small tandoori chicken pizza soda and I standard 20% tip $30.00 The small pizza was lots of bell peppers, the tandoori chicken was super shredded barely there, the cheese was weird not delicious and the pizza crust seemed premade frozen pizza.. It was not tasty the flavors were bland . My friend got a tandoori bowl. Eh, not impressed., seemed like a lot of lettuce not a lot of protein She's called it messy.I'm not going back. I've been here 4 or 5 times now. I do not like the taste of the pizza. They bought Dutchy's pizza. WHY AREN'T THEY USING THEIR RECIPES? Dutchys is far superior as far as pizza crust/cheese/sauce. I have ordered just a pepperoni pizza each time. I have seen/heard good reviews on the more exotic recipes but have not personally tried them. read more

My friend and I had no idea what 'Indian Pizza' even was, but, wow, this was delicious. Pizza crust fluffy and tasty, options for sauces (we did tandoori) with interesting flavors, and a pick-your-own toppings that allowed for great vegetarian options. And the owner and his side-kick came over and answered all our questions, so now we know what "desi" pizza is and how it got called that.
