I only had a brazilian done once before...it was a pleasant experience. i was unable to make an appointment at the same place due to the roof?? i dont know what that was about. i did some last minute searching last night. i decided on smooth operations because of not only the reviews, they specialize in waxing, and i was able to make an appt online..instead of waiting to make a call the next morning (it was close to midnight). I made the appt with Jess...she was really nice. i was a bit uncomfortable about the whole thing (i dont ever know if im goin to get used to it). i spent half as much as i did the first time around. that is a definite plus. After reading reviews on yelp I decided to give Smooth Operations a try because I needed a eyebrow shaping and wax and was in the area.. Bad idea! I have never had such a horrible shaping in my life. I had it done last Friday and now it's Monday and I have a nasty and painful sore on my eyelid in-between my eye and brow where she obviously pulled skin off with the hot wax! She even said that I should put something on that to heal it!!! It has been four days and it's worse than ever! Paid $24 plus tip. Duh. I will never step foot in there again. The Worst. I just am not that happy with the way they feel. They always feel clumpy and are sticking wacky ways. I was SO impressed and pleased with this place. Great, professional, speedy service. Melanie was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great location - private and very clean. One of the best brazillan wax experiences I've had - less painful and more comfortable than ones I've experienced elsewhere. Most places sprinkle you with powder afterwards and call it done. Melanie provided a solution to get rid of the excess wax and a gel to apply that soothed and cooled the area. I will definitely be going back here. Went here for a Brazilian. I was in a time crunch and needed a same day appointment. My go to gal (who gets the job done in 10 minutes and 5 pulls) was out of the country, so I found this place and made an appointment due to the yelp reviews and availability. I experienced one of the worst brazilians I've ever had here! She did at least 15 pulls and it took almost 40 minutes!! What?! It was totally unnecessary and caused some bleeding and tons of ingrown hairs. I'm giving this an extra star because the lady was nice and they were able to accommodate me at the last minute, but I won't be returning. read more

This is not a place to go without a appt. I dropped in on a Saturday and after waiting for 10 minutes, there wasn't anyone at the desk, was told that they were fully booked that day. It was a Saturday so its understandable that it was booked, but it's very poor service to not have anyone at the front desk for over 10 minutes. And it didn't help that I could overhear the girls laughing and talking in the back room while I waited. read more

I chose Smooth Operations based on its great ratings on Yelp, and am so glad I did! I made an appointment with Jessica using their super-handy online reservation system for a bikini wax (which I later changed to a Brazilian wax). I immediately got an e-mail confirmation - very cool to have this feature. Jessica is fantastic. She is kind, personable, very professional, and made me feel at ease. While Brazilian waxes are nothing short of excruciating, she did a wonderful job and I was in and out quickly. I'm very pleased with the results. The all-waxing salon (what a great idea!) is convenient, easy to get to, and very clean. Not the usual all-the-frills salon or spa, but it serves it purpose well. I already have another appointment next month. After visiting a couple other spas and salons in the North Bay for waxing, this is now my go-to place. read more

I've been here a couple of times for Brazilians, but purely out of convenience. I think I've had Jessica G a couple of times, Meryl and one other girl. Meryl did not care whatsoever about making me feel comfortable - she ripped those wax strips so vigorously and didn't even check to make sure I was okay (worst waxing experience ever). For the amount I paid and tipped Jessica she was sloppy every time she waxed me - leaving hair and lots of wax on me. I'm a pretty regular waxer so I know how long to have my hair and the difference between a professional wax and one that's a rip off... This place is not worth the price. Now to the waxing...I was a first-timer, and Melanie put me at ease, explained the whole process and aftercare. Frankly, modesty is simply not possible for this procedure, and Melanie did a wonderful job of being professional. Depilatory cream first, so that your skin stays intact is genius. I was pampered in NYC by the J Sisters and tried to find something comparable to them and after some trial and error I found Smooth Operations and the lovely Melanie. Ok. I was a "virgin" (no pun intended) at this waxing thing. I feel the need to explain because it is so embarrassing to admit this in a public forum but I want to give encouragement to Jessica and SO. Lets just say V-day is coming up and husband. Enough said. I compared reviews for milvali and this place on yelp. I picked this place because this place got more positive reviews, waxing is their thing and their prices are way lower. I thought I would try it. Why not? Well, it just wasn't that bad. It wasnt the greatest but either my friends are wimps or Jessica is the waxing godess. She talked to me throughout in a transparent attempt to keep my mind occupied and relaxed. All the horror stories I have heard did NOT materialize. I LOVED that they were using the natural, organic products that I use at home (stuff you would get at Pharmaca or Whole Foods). I think that's part of why my skin didn't have a reaction. I have super sensitive skin and brought my own tea tree oil. They asked me if I wanted to get other stuff done, but I get electrolysis. There was no pressure on me to switch to them. Their website is great and people should read it for pre-treatment instructions. I am planning to get my friends who visit me from other places to go here. read more

Kind of a mixed bag. The people were friendly, setting up an appointment was easy, and the service itself pretty good. They do have parking, but It was completely full 11:00 am on a Saturday. There is no street parking, so I had to park a few blocks away. The signage from the street was a bit hard to spot as well. The waiting area needed some tlc. The wood floors were very dirty, and there was a large sad candy jar with 5 old pieces of hard candy stuck to the bottom. Maybe not a deal breaker, but definitely not a great first impression. read more

Jessica is awesome. I've paid more for waxes and I get Brazilian. Jessica is super sweet and is not shy about getting each and every hair. Just tell her if she missed a spot and she'll be sure to get it!! Also, she's very gentle. She takes small strips of hair and takes her time. They also sell my favorite "No Scream Cream." A must in my opinion. Jessica is great at setting appointments and very accomodationg. I would recommend her to anyone wanting a good wax!!
