Clean and good atmosphere. A little bit slow getting food to us. Portion size for a restaurant was pretty small. I ordered a 3-meat combo plate. BBQ chicken was huge :) brisket was about 3-4 ozs and chicken breast was size of a small woman's palm. Sat at the bar and had a good attentive waiter. We liked how the bar had phone chargers!! read more

Short staffed in the kitchen on a Saturday evening according to our waiter. As a result, waited a very long time for our food. Both bathroom paper towel dispensers were empty. read more

Please do NOT support a business that refuses to honor their word. One of the worst manager experiences!! On 9/14/20, I ordered BOGO wings online from a promotional email sent by Smokey Bones. I have never gone through this process before so I called into Smokey Bones and asked the receptionist how to get the BOGO special. She then told me to go through the promotional email, click on the link provided, order 16 wings and the Smokey Bones staff will know the BOGO offer is valid. Upon arrival, I found they did not honor the extra wings so I asked to speak to a manager. Honestly, this is what upset me the most. The kitchen manager (mid-late 30s Hispanic male with a black face mask) came out and immediately said it was 100% my fault and that I ordered incorrectly. After attempting to explain my situation and what I was told, he raised his voice and continued to explain how it was my fault and that I was in the wrong. At this point, the manager clearly drew everyone's attention to our conversation. I asked to speak to the store manager and he said he was the acting store manager and that no one there was higher than him. Indicating what he said, no one could overturn. The manager did not have a name tag on but I can tell you it was 6:40 pm on 9/14/20 if Smokey Bones corporate would like to pursue this wrong and upsetting behavior. Needless to say, Smokey Bones will lose business from my entire family. read more

The food was good! The service on the other hand, TERRIBLE. We got "endless wings" and the first set came out with 8 wings, went to order our second set, they took around 20 minutes to get F O U R more wings... we went to order another set because at this point, we only had 12 wings. We were there for 2 hours and literally got a total of 12 wings each. Our server, Elizabeth, was ridiculous, she was annoyed with anything we asked - which was the bare minimum, such as drink refills after our whole tables had been empty for at least 15 minutes or more wing refills which we only asked for twice. we read more

Extremely disappointed in the management's values at this restaurant. I was told I had to wear a mask to wait indoors for our table even though I distanced myself 10 feet away from anyone else. When I told the young guy behind the counter I had a medical condition and am EXEMPT he brushed it off saying it doesn't matter and that it was their policy. I told him legally he has to respect me saying I'm exempt....he cowardly went and got the manager (who stood 1 foot away from me--oops guess no social distancing!) and "tried" to be understanding but also would not let my medical exemption stand a chance in their establishment. He simply kept repeating that it was their policy and they are following the CDC...& on & on. Excuse me, last time I checked there are allowances in this nation for medical exemptions. And if I would have a lawyer friend I would've called him right up then & there! THIS IS AMERICA, I HAVE A VOICE, & I HAVE A RIGHT TO FREEDOM. Beware, the management here does not see value in you as a person. And I also thought it was ironic that they were out of soap in the women's bathroom. read more

Sammer wad amazing she recommended the long Island and it was so good I am so glad qr had her!

Do not go here! Your time is better spent elsewhere. This place is a mess. You'll wait a very long time for your food and get no remorse from management. We waited 30 minutes for our food to only be told they ran out of the bbq chicken that was ordered and so my mother ordered something else. They came back 10 minutes and said never mind, they actually did have it and we finally got our food. My husbands order was not right. They made him the wrong kind of burger. So he had to sit and wait for his food for another 20 minutes while we all ate. In the mean time, management never came to apologize or explain why we had to wait for so long. It just seemed like there was a big disconnect between the kitchen staff and the house staff. We will never be returning. If we're spending $100 on dinner, I expect better service and at least a show of appreciation for us not getting up and leaving in the first place. Go somewhere else. It wasn't even a busy night. Food was mediocre and not worth the wait. read more

Food is great tasting but I'm giving a low review because for $8 you get about half the sized portion of fried pickles you do at Buffalo Wild Wings for only $6(?). Picture in the menu looked to be about double what we received which is very misleading. I understand pictures in menus aren't accurate but when it comes to paying for a quantity, I'd expect more than maybe 25 pickles... picture was taken after we ate maybe 10 pickles. Burgers were absolutely amazing though which is why I'm not giving a 1 star review. read more

Smokey Bones Fort Wayne - Barbeque Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Absolutely the worst service. They just ruined my date night. Got there at 615 had an order of fries, fried pickles and a burger. Watched every other table get their food in the course of 40 minutes except my husband and I. Absolutely ridiculous. So now I get to be late for my movie, and hungry until 11 o clock. Never again. read more

This place always seems busy. Only in Fort Wayne. Ordered the chicken dip appetizer. It was cold in the middle. they took it back, nuked it, and returned the same plate. Classy. It was salty as hell. Smoked wings were ok I guess, but dry and overpriced. Drink prices are the worst in town. $8.50 for a 22oz Two Hearted Ale.(its $3.00 for 24oz at Voodoo BBQ in New Haven) . $8.50 for a "double" Kraken and coke, which was about the same strength as most place give you as a single. (Kraken is $16.99 a bottle at S&V). To make matters worse when they first pour the Two Hearted the glass is 2/3 foam. Instead of scraping the foam and continuing pouring, they let the glass sit there for 10 minutes until the foam settles, then top it off. So you get a half flat, half warm glass of beer. For $8.50. Ridiculous. $76 including tip for cold chicken dip, 8 wings, 3 beers, and 2 mixed drinks. Will absolutely not be returning. read more

We went to this place for my birthday dinner last Saturday evening (4/14/12). We, too, missed all the flat screen TVs in the main dining area! I had the pulled pork with potato salad and fire-roasted corn sides. I was very happy with the dinner. The spicy bbq sauce was also very tasty. My wife had the "Create Your Own Combo" of BBQ chicken breast along with pulled pork, with BBQ baked beans and cole slaw. She didn't like any of it. The chicken "breast" was a piece of pressed chicken which wasn't really barbecued, the beans "sucked", and the sauce she tried (the vinegary one) was "bad". She DID like the pulled pork, however. Overall, not a place we're coming back to anytime soon. read more

Sometimes after you finish a meal at a restaurant you say, "I could have done a better job making that meal they just served me". And then, you realize what you're paying for that meal, and you feel insulted. I'm not gonna point any fingers and say that I felt that way about this restaurant but let's just say that after my visit here I felt inspired to write. read more

We came for lunch on a Sunday. I was really looking forward to street tacos because they were good in the past. NOPE! $11.50 for three tacos and the 2 with pork belly had 1 tiny piece of pork belly, chipotle Mayo and 2 pieces of pickle onion. It didn't even fill 1/4 of the soft taco shell! The waitress Mackenzie was very understanding when we said the tacos were extremely disappointing. She offered to make it right, however the manager, Zack came to our table and said that it was the allowed portion of pork belly AND even though the street tacos were listed as an entree, they were really only intended to be an appetizer. Hmmm.... And I was supposed to guess that they were now only an appetizer portion??? I ended up eating NOTHING and Zack the manager was truly unconcerned with that. We informed him that we both bring customers and eat here personally, but he said there wasn't anything he could do to rectify my pathetic meal. I love to put great reviews out there for restaurants, but this was a crummy experience. The only saving grace was Mackenzie who is a great waitress. read more

NEVER EAT HERE THEY GIVE YOU OTHER CUSTOMERS LEFTOVERS!! Absolute worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We put our name in and they told us about an hour wait, 20 minutes later our buzzer lit up so we got up from the waiting bench only to be told that it was a false alarm and our table wasn't ready yet. We lost our seats in the waiting area due to this and had to stand the rest of the time. After we sat down and ordered we waited about an hour and still no food! at this point we started to get annoyed so we flagged down the waitress. She went and checked on the order, came back to the table and told us that the order HAD NOT BEEN PROCESSED YET!! IT WAS AN HOUR AFTER WE ORDERED!! Two of the couples with us ordered the bonefire shared platter, one of the platters came out burnt and dry and a very little amount of food, they ripped a fry open and it was just the shell the inside was completely gone (The other couples platter still hadn't come out). so they sent it back and brought a new one to them and it was the same way. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY BAD!! The other couple that had ordered a bonefire platter finally got theirs BUT IT WAS THE ONE THAT THE OTHER HAD SENT BACK!!!!!! the same fry that had been ripped open was on our "FRESH" platter. We asked for the manager and it took her 15 minutes to show up. When she arrived she was very unprofessional saying that she was too busy to deal with it and it really wasn't that big of deal. THEY PUT SOMEONE ELSES SENT BACK FOOD ON OUR PLATE!!!!!!! WHO DOES THAT? IT IS DISGUSTING AND JUST WRONG!!!!!!! SO IF YOU EVER EAT HERE, YOU COULD BE EATING THE LEFTOVERS OF SOEONE ELSES MEAL!!! I WILLL NEVER EVER, EVER, EVER GO BACK TO THIS DISGUSTING ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Service has really dropped here the past few times. Food quality is not what it was. If current Managment continues here I predict another empty restaurant building soon in southwest Fort Wayne Go back to the old menus last year Train your servers and kitchen staff better Pulled pork is good. I would like to thank Greg, a local manager, for reaching out to me to make things right and to give Smokey Bones another chance. We went back on Friday, August 12th. The party I was with had pulled pork, fish and chips, salmon, and ribs. The restaurant was packed and we waited 20 minutes for seating. The food arrived at our table hot and delicious. The server checked back often, and Greg stopped at the table to see how things were going. Tonight's dinner was much improved in quality and service, and they earned 5 stars on this visit. I want to thank Greg and his staff for the second chance to make a better impression - they did a fabulous job. Thank you! read more

Terrible. Worst burger I have ever eaten.I ordered the morning glory, asked for crispy bacon and over easy egg.It came out with chewy bacon and an over done over fried egg with none of the chipotle ketchup it was supposed to come with. Definitely a premade frozen burger. My husband asked for his medium and mine was medium well. Both came out completely over done. Luckily the manager came out and gave us 50% off our bill. Will never go here again. Better burgers at Culver's. Not to mention the hostess was clueless. She didn't even say hi and welcome us to the restaurant nor asked us how many were in our party. The waitress was great, but that's about it. Never going back. read more

I was so looking forward to this meal. With an ill husband, I never get to eat out, so ordered takeout. I was do disappointed in the food. The ribs were tough (had St Louis & Baby Back ribs), the pulled pork was very dry, I did not get my coleslaw, the loaded mashed potatoes were like play dough. $55 latter, joyless. read more

This happens to be a place I love to go, most of the time. The food is always good, and the service, like any other restaurant, depends on the server. I have enjoyed a variety of food items which are absolutely fantastic. For appetizers, the pretzel bones and smoked wings are wonderful, and if you add pulled pork to the loaded nachos, you will have a platter full of yumminess to share. For main entrees you can't go wrong with Create Your Own Combo which comes with two or three meats plus two sides. The pulled pork and brisket are my favorite with a side of sweet potato stix and the most flavor packed steamed broccoli you have ever tasted. If you're in the mood for a burger there are plenty to choose from or you can build your own. Their dinner salads are also a great choice. If you have room for dessert, the six layer chocolate cake is a chocolate lover's dream, and it's large enough to share. Most of the time I enjoy sitting at the bar. Zach and Jasmine are fantastic, as are some of the newer faces I've seen. However, if you have the misfortune of having Paul as your bartender/server, your experience may not be nearly as pleasant. He's arrogant and down right rude, even to the point that I felt like I was being harassed. I was recently made aware that he is now a manager in training. This really surprises me because Debbie and the other managers are great, and I can't see him being a great manager when he can't even prove to be a decent human being. Congratulations, Paul! You are the reason this review is only 4 stars. So, overall, Smokey Bones is a pretty great place. If you enjoy a great atmosphere where you can relax, have dinner, or just some appetizers, and a couple drinks while watching a game, this is a great place to do it! read more

Decided to try Smokey bones again after I hadn't been there for years. We thought we would treat ourselves to a special meal on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the sampler pot for two thinking we would try all the different meats. When it came out the French fried potatoes were dried up and old, the chicken was very dry,the peppers were over cooked and soggy, we pretty much stopped there and complain. The waitress took it back and didn't say anything then a cook came out and said everything was made to order and we said we disagree everything is overcooked and very dried up how could it be made to order. He said would you like me to make you another order of it and we said no if it's going to come out like that. He apologized and said he was sorry that it is not up to your standards. Our standards are not extremely high but for $40 we expect our food not to be dried up from a warmer. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g37114-d609242-r815873466-Smokey_Bones-Fort_Wayne_Indiana.html# read more

Excellent bbq and good service. Brisket, smoked chicken wings, smoked sausage, pulled pork were all very good. Other food is mostly good. Only issue I had was the breaded chicken in the buffalo chicken dip, which if you have ever made, you know uses shredded chicken. We always like Smokey bones. The food is great. Their lunch specials are more reasonably priced and there's a fairly good selection.

The garlic-infused top sirloin is fantastic. The fire-roasted corn is a nice complement, and they gave plenty of butter and sour cream with the baked potato. I don't visit Ft. Wayne too often, but I'll make a point of coming back here! read more

I was extremely excited to come here and to explore all the food and drink they had to offer. Everything looked so tasty! I had a the smoking bones mojito and it was one of the best ones I've ever had for the money value. However, the drinks took forever to come out. My boyfriend ordered a beer and while my Mojito was sitting on the bar ready to go out it wasn't another 5-7 minutes until the beer was poured. Same goes for appetizers and food. We ended up sharing an entree and we waited an entire hour for the food. When we got it, it was not very warm and sub average tasting. Although the staff was very friendly, i was very disappointed and will mostly likely not be returning. read more

Overall, a pretty nice BBQ joint. The good: Food was good and well priced. Nice beer selection. Clean restaurant. Really nice menu options. I had the pulled pork... And it was nice and tender. Sweet potato sticks (fries) where very good also. Buddy had the Berger and said it was great. The OK: Short wait on a Sunday for lunch, even though I saw a few tables open. The bad: it was a pretty long wait for the food. I'm OK waiting at a fine dining restaurant, but I figured it to be just a bit shorter than it was. Also, Sat at the bar, which was decently crowded, and only had 1 bartender. Maybe they didn't expect that many to be at the bar on Sunday? The place/food was good, just not a 'knock me outta the park' place, and that's really what kept me from giving it a 5. However, I would definitely go back next time I'm in town. read more

Went here for a late lunch Saturday and the service was very slow. After diners had left there were 4-5 tables all around me that were left to be cleared for a long time. REVIEW TITLE: I smelled no smoke! My husband and I were visiting from out of town never been to a Smokey Bones restaurant before. Our waitress was relatively new, but very helpful and very nice! We weren't sure what to order she recommended a few dishes for us that she had tried both were just okay. This place was not all that it was cracked up to be.... More than likely will not come back again! I was not impressed... when I go to a barbecue place I expect smell meat cooking or something! First off, tasty food. It was good. Not amazing but good. I think the issue is wait. We arrived at 5:15p on a Saturday night and didn't leave until 7:30p. We waited about 50 minutes for our seat and another 35 for the food. Slow go. Expect a long wait if you go during a busy time. Back to the food: chicken breast was excellent. Ribeye was good, a bit over cooked. Sirloin was very good. Loved the cornbread and donuts were the best! I would give donuts an excellent!! read more

Went there last night for dinner, so disappointed. The kitchen made the experience less than pleasing and the waiter didn't really help improve it. It took longer than normal before we were greeted and asked for our drink orders, then my beer took a very long time to arrive. We ordered the pulled pork nachos for our appetizer and they were decent but were very dry. Menu said they came with queso and shredded cheese but there is very little queso and it seemed as though they had sat under the heat lamp for some time. The pulled pork was plentiful and tasty. We also ordered a new/seasonal item which had wings, chicken breast, ribs, steak, sausage, steak fries and grilled vegetables that came to your table on a mini grill. From the time we arrived at the restaurant till the first part of our main course arrived we had been there almost 90 minutes. The grill arrived but it didn't have the steak, we were told that would be right out. Since it took so long for everything else to arrive we asked for to go boxes and our bill. The waiter became very frustrated and agitated. He did not handle the situation in a professional manor at all nor did the manager. The waiter seemed more concerned about his tip and that we might give a bad review on the 'tablet' you use to pay. The manager was less than helpful. Our steak finally arrived in time for us to put it in the to go container. The waiter tried to salvage his tip by giving us two 'big ass' (his words) pieces of chocolate cake, which was fine but my husband doesn't like chocolate. Maybe in the future if they are going to give free dessert instead of money off the bill they should let the wronged customer pick what they want?? We were kind and thanked the waiter saying we knew the kitchen was at fault and left our normal 20% tip. Again all he was worried about was himself and even stated 'most people don't tip when they have an experience like this and then my other tables suffer for the time I'm spending at your table so they don't tip either), he didn't know we had already tipped him. Obviously for him to say that it must be a frequent occurrence that the restaurant? Doubt we'll go back again for a very long time. read more
